This is review of an out-of-towner drop in to a noon crossfit class- weekday. I did not participate in any of the MMA or other sport this gym offers. I showed up early, filled out the waiver, and sat with the two coaches. I was given free range to bands, rollers, pvc, and the rest while I waited for the rest of the class to show. If you're an out of towner, keep that in mind during your WOD; the altitude slowed down my 800m run. The warmup was thorough, and fun, and even though the space designated for crossfit is rather small, it was still room enough to fit 12 folks, with a 16 member cap. What I really liked was after the 20 or so minute warm up, there was a 20 or so minute Mobility WOD style stretch and warm up. You won't find a lot of run-of-the-mill CF boxes offering this, especially in their everyday classes. This shows me that CFSF at Undisputed Fitness understands the full range of health and fitness, not just some CF bang-it-out MetCon only. The following WOD was well timed and clearly instructed; well timed on the call out of every minute for burpees. Heather, the coach of the class was stern, but fun, and thankfully did not take any sh*t from folks who were screwing around. The space was clean, but as I mentioned before, a bit smaller than some other boxes. The changing rooms and bathrooms were spacious and VERY clean. The members were welcoming and friendly. This might not be a big deal to some, but as you go from box-to-box across the country, you tend to pick up t-shirts. Lots of them are cheap cotton, junky, and ugly. This one is a quality shirt, cool logo, and its included at the very affordable drop in rate. Highly Recommended. read more

I checked out Undisputed Fitness a.k.a. Santa Fe Crossfit while in town for vacation. Overall, this is a great spot for a crossfit workout. They care about form and function to prepare you for the workout which is impressive for a crossfit gym. (Usually, most crossfit gyms do a quick overview and demonstration of the exercises and go.) They also work with you on your form to ensure you get safe results with a good push. You can also tell they have a strong following, and they do care about developing a community for the members. If I was looking for a strong crossfit gym membership in Santa Fe, I would make Undisputed my choice. They also have good tunes to push you through the workout. If you're looking for a quick workout that has a little 'swank' in the scene, you'll get it here. The location is in a good area that holds a salon and other cool spots. I've been taking boxing lessons from instructor Luis Castillo, and I'd highly recommend him and this gym in general! The instructors I've encountered are consistently positive people who are motivated and friendly to be around, and are clearly challenging themselves to be their very best. Other gym-goers are supportive and welcoming as well. Looking around the gym I always see empowered people whose discipline is reflected in their bodies and attitudes. Just the kinda people I want to be hanging out with ! Adjacent to the gym is Caveman Coffee- last week I had my first Butter Latte and while i don't recommend that you watch them make it (it was the hugest chunk of butter ever) I do recommend you try one. After your workout. This is a group of dedicated professionals and I always feel grateful that I get to work with someone so experienced. The undisputed staff and community is great, so many inspiring people who want to help you achieve your goals and feel your best. The coaches are dedicated and driven themselves and that sets the tone for everyone else to put in that personal work as well. I love that the gym offers so many different classes for ALL levels of fitness. The women's self defense class was very empowering, I highly recommend all women to take this class at least once but it would also be a course that could be revisited every couple years or you could just join the jujitsu classes if you want to go that route. The best, sweetest and most dedicated group of people you can find in Santa Fe. Between the chains and concrete globes and general quota of rippling muscles, I was initially intimidated by the gladiator/dungeon atmosphere, but I wound up having a blast. The workouts were great, and the the coaches meet you where you are, taking time to teach proper form to beginners like me and accommodate different strengths and capacities. I enjoyed every coach I had--Heather, Dario, Will, Lorenzo and Ruben each brought their own zest, knowledge and humor to the room. The members create a fantastic, supportive community. I train at Crossfit Providence (RI) and was in Santa Fe for one night on the way to Taos. I found Crossfit Santa Fe (at Undisputed Fitness) through a Google search and was very happy that they take drop-ins for Crossfit classes. Heather taught the 7:00am class on a Monday morning, and there were 6 other participants, including another drop-in from Chicago Crossfit. It was a great, challenging class. The gym set up is open and clean, and Heather gave superb, easy-to-follow instruction on a complicated Olympic lift. I started working out at Undisputed about a year ago. I had heard a lot about Crossfit and I wanted to try it. I called and asked if I could try a class. The guy on the phone was super helpful and friendly. He told me that I could come in for a free intro with one of their crossfit coaches. He said that it would be less than an hour and that there would be a 5-10 minute workout involved. I was intrigued. I went in the next day. The coach that took me through my intro was extremely knowledgeable. I learned all about Crossfit and then I did the "baseline" workout. Pretty straight forward, but it combines a 5 different movements. It gave me an idea of what a Crossfit workout might be like. I loved it. It was hard but it piqued my curiousity and tickled my athletic drive. I signed up immediately. I have been doing Crossfit 3 days a week ever since. I am in the best shape of my life and I love the social environment. I fell totally challenged and supported by my coaches and the people in my classes. It has become a total life style for me. We have just started a Paleo diet challenge. It makes it so much easier because there are 15 other people taking the challenge too. I feel accountable to them and that helps me be accountable to myself. Funny how that works.I could never go back to a conventional gym again! i love Undisputed Fitness! read more

I've been going to Undisputed, specifically Crow's kickboxing class, since March and it rocks. It's not too often that you can get your butt kicked and keep coming back for more with a smile on your face. I dropped in for a wod while visiting Santa Fe on business. Called the day before and Lorenzo got me set up for the noon class the next day. The class was coached by Heather. Warmup was fun with one movement called out by each person in the class. Heather made sure that each warmup movement had some relation to the wod. Skill was wall walks - it was a bit hard to get too much practice in the limited space available but Heather did a good job with her explanation and cues. The wod was fun and challenging. Heather decided on the fly to change one of the moves (from thrusters to dumbbell thrusters) because in the limited space it was going to be hard to squeeze everyone in for thrusters. The altitude kicked my butt a little bit so keep that in mind if you're visiting. Very hospitable and friendly crew and the regulars were pretty friendly. Cost for drop in was average at $25, but for $30 got the wod and a tank. And I agree with the other poster who said the tshirts are good quality. The tank is really nice! read more

I've been training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and take fitness classes at Undisputed Fitness in Santa Fe for several months now and absolutely love it. The instructors are excellent, extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. I tend to get a bit intimidated when I first start going to a new gym, but all the people who train there have great attitudes and really helped to make me feel at home. The facility has great, well maintained equipment, and is very clean. They have many different classes, I think just about anyone could find something they would enjoy. I recently visited Santa Fe for a family trip and was looking for a place to workout while I was on vacation. At home I train in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu as well as Crossfit - I was pleasantly surprised to find Undisputed Fitness as it offers both as an integrated program. I sent an email to see if they were open to visitors coming and training with them. I immediately received a response from the Owner, Tait Fletcher who was very welcoming and even provided some advice as to how to prepare for training at 7,000 ft elevation. When I arrived at Undisputed Fitness, Tait was there and was even more welcoming in person. I took a Jiu Jitsu class from one of their Brown Belt's, Henry, who is a very technical fighter and he provided some great tools to add to my game. I then took two crossfit classes with Tait which were also outstanding. Although Tait has great credentials (professional MMA fighter, BJJ Black Belt, Ultimate Fighter contestant), he is extremely humble and made me feel right at home in their academy. If you live in the Santa Fe area or are just visiting Santa Fe for vacation and are looking for a place to train, I highly recommend Undisputed Fitness. I will definitely be visiting them again next time I am in Santa Fe! read more
