My artist was Liz and she was fantastic. She messaged me a few days before my tattoo to ask what I wanted to get and send pictures. Once I got to the shop the day of my tattoo, the vibe was great so I knew I picked the right place. Liz was great at communicating on what she was doing, letting me take a break and letting me stretch my arm during the session of my second tattoo since the placement was by my elbow so there was no comfortable spot to be in while getting it done. During the session, Liz and I had a great conversation about life and music and were cracking jokes. The other artist (I don't remember his name, sorry :/ ) and his clients joined in the conversation and made it even better. I would definitely come back to this shop for more tattoos!!

She was very efficient and she made sure I felt comfortable and places pillows for me. Best anime tattoo artist in SoCal!…read more I recently got a tattoo from Wilber (@supa_way_tatt) at Scratch and I cannot recommend the artist and studio enough!! I took a VERY long time to dig through countless portfolios of tattoo artists - there's obviously many talented artists, but so many anime artists heavily reduce the detail in the piece (remove the shadows/lines, simplify it) and often the faces are just the tiiiiiiniest bit off and I really can notice it. It was deeply important to me to find an artist whose portfolio I felt like nailed EVERY. SINGLE. PIECE. and with incredible attention to detail, no matter the character, no matter the size. I wanted a tattoo of Levi from Attack on Titan's eyes - specifically where his 1 eye is bandaged and I was very insistent that ALL detail from the frame I chose would be included. every tiny line, every little shadow and detail. and Wilber NAILED it and got everything to absolute perfection. I was confident with my choice going into the tattoo but I was still floored by how perfect Levi's face turned out. I also was trying to avoid just getting a straight up anime frame and so wanted to put Levi within a bird silhouette (so it was a bit more subtle) and Wilbur was incredibly receptive to my notes and preferences and took literally everything I wanted into account and blended his face into the bird PERFECTLY. It looks seamless and even better than I envisioned. I couldn't be more pleased. The studio is super great vibes - perfectly clean (without feeling clinical or sterile), modern, spacious, easy parking, chill music playing, and overall just really nice vibes. I felt welcome and comfortable and when you're kind of nervous pre-tattoo, that's really important. If you're deciding between a few different artists/studios, trust me, go with Wilber @ Scratch!!!!!

One thing I always appreciate about here is how friendly, caring, and informative everyone is. Whether I have questions about anatomy or aftercare, they always explain everything clearly and never make me feel rushed or confused. And honestly, the piercing process is always way faster and smoother than I expect. I'll mentally prepare for it to hurt and then suddenly they're like "all done!" and I'm sitting there like "oh, that wasn't bad at all" haha. That's also why all my cartilage piercings (3 helix's, 2 tragus's, conch, daith, and rook) have been done here!

1/30/26 - Called about information for a walk in to get my septum and a pair of lobe piercings…read moredone. They were very informative about hours and pricing. Most importantly they were able to do the piercings I wanted the same day unlike the other shops I called. When I arrived, the store was empty, very clean and quaint. Just the two workers opening the store for the day. I filled out the consent form and about 10 minutes later I was called to the back by Melissa who measured my existing piercings to mark them on my other ear. Very happy with her attention to detail. Everything seemed to be sanitized properly as well, at least to my untrained eyes. She went ahead with the lobe piercings after letting me see the spots she marked using a handheld mirror and they turned out great. I had the same experience with the septum as well. Overall, I am very satisfied with my experience here at Mint Condition and Melissa's work, and will always consider this place first when I'm ready to get my next piercings!

It was really just sitting on a display table with art and more art. Definitely my vibe. I love art studios and seeing how other artist set up their creative spaces. I don't have any tattoos, but I wanted to go to a tattoo parlor for some new ear piercings, because I knew they would do a great job just from WOM. Looking around, I enjoyed seeing the butterflies in display cases and didn't think too much of all of the animals placed on walls and desks. Juvenal (the artist) told me the owner enjoys taxidermy, and I very slowly accepted that these were real animals. The irony of being able to sit at a museum and draw stuffed animals without a care, but now in this setting seemed eerily fitting. Juvenal did my piercings. They're perfect! I've been wanting to do this for years. I don't have a good excuse to why it took so long. But I know it was the right time. I bled. 0.o Fitting for the setting, eh? They were all cool people, too - Juvenal, Ernie & Tany. We chatted a bit before I left. The whole thing was an experience. They really make sure to listen to exactly what you want, check the area to make sure they can actually give you what you want, and provide recommendations as you choose out your jewelry which is well-priced. My piercers have also been very gentle and take cleanliness seriously--everything is very sterile from the moment you enter the building to the piercing room.
