Getting my first tattoo was such an emotional experience for me, and Vanessa made me feel completely comfortable from start to finish. Her place is very calming, and she has her own place which made it so much easier for me. This tattoo was in remembrance of my husband, who passed away and she truly listened to everything I wanted and the meaning behind it. Vanessa was incredibly kind, patient, and comforting. Her hand was so light that I barely felt a thing during the tattoo. I absolutely love how my first tattoo turned out, and I'm so grateful for the care and compassion she showed me throughout the entire experience. I will definitely be coming back for another tattoo in the future.

She is so nice & the atmosphere is clean and calm. Such a nice change from a typical "tattoo parlor" so that was refreshing. Took the time to listen to what I'd like. Loved the results & I'll definitely be going back

Got my first tattoo from Vanessa 8mo ago ( 4 hearts) and for Christmas I got my second (saved by grace). I absolutely love it and can't say enough on the service I received. Vanessa has such a pleasant spirit and the atmosphere is very calming. I highly recommend her, especially if it's your first tattoo.

Her other tattoos look great but if you're looking to get line work done I would definitely not recommended. I got Line work done and it's incredibly patchy.

so long story short my friend and i both decided to get tattoos, when looking on instagram we found The Tattoo Gemologist and let me tell you she is the sweetest most gentle tattoo artist i've met. I think the whole process for me was around an hour and a half with the total coming to around $80.. i can't remember the exact number but i totally think it was worth it, she's still new and does take her time but I appreciate that plus i honestly started to fall asleep on the table just with how relaxing the environment is! if you're thinking of getting your first tattoo or are a little nervous to walking into a giant tattoo parlor i highly recommend coming to her.

She's amazing!!! If you're thinking about it, please book! I was looking for a female artist who specializes in floral line work, pet portraits, and photos of it once it healed. That's what brought me here. Most tattoos places have "hardcore" environment: redish walls, skeletons, rock music, etc. plus an open concept that leaves no privacy. It can be intimidating and honestly a bit uncomfortable as it's not really my vibe. She has her own private studio, clean, and welcoming. She's warm, clearly passionate about her work, and took the time to ask about sizing, placement, and design, offering her own suggestions too. I got a floral tattoo on my forearm, my first piece in years. She made sure I was comfortable, played relaxing music, and worked quickly with a technique that minimized the pain. When I saw the finished tattoo, I was blown away! better than I'd expected. I've already booked my next session with her. If you're on the fence, just book it. I had such a great experience with Vanessa. From the very beginning, she was super responsive and easy to communicate with, which immediately made me feel comfortable. She really takes the time to go over your ideas and all the little details, making sure everything feels right before starting. First time client, and won't be my last visit. Vanessa is extremely professional, well organized and takes her craft seriously. She is creative, thoughtful and easy to work with. Her space is quaint, comfortable and appropriate for the work she does. Gave myself a Valentine's Day gift and I have zero regrets. I have another tattoo by a different artist that was supposed to be fine line but it definitely did not turn out that way! did my tattoo 3 months ago and is completely faded I tried getting a touch up but she tried to charge me to get it retouched and I could be wrong but I feel like her mistake should be taken care of by her and I shouldn't have to pay for it. To your reply, regardless of it being fine line or not to my research "fine line tattoos" last up to a decade not 3 months to fade. And yea you gave me a touch up to a small faded part of another tattoo artist that has less time doing tattoos yet look better now than the one I received from you. After care as you mention was done the way your instructions showed. No my error.I think for the future if you make a mistake just own up to it and maybe give a little longer than 1 month for a free touch up. read more

I had such a great experience with Vanessa! A friend of mine recommended her to me and I'm so glad she did! I followed Vanessa's tattoo Instagram and immediately fell in love with her style of tattooing! She's very responsive via social media, which made it very easy for me to consult about the tattoo I wanted without having to be there in person. I was very indecisive about the specific tattoo and specific location I wanted, but Vanessa was very patient and understanding both online and in person! She gave me time and space to finalize the piece and location without any rush or any judgement. She has a soft touch and made sure that I was comfortable throughout the entire experience! I have no idea how the artist focus when all of their friends are hanging out and talking to them. I want the focus on me and the work I am getting done, If someone walks in and wants a piercing they have priority when you have been waiting 3 hours. Then they tell your next and have you sign paper and then your girlfriend walks in and they leave for lunch. Who runs a business like this? How do you stay in business and keep customers? What a big disappointment. Take your business elsewhere.

Trevor is a fantastic artist who really cares for his craft and his client. His art work is truly some of the best I have ever seen. My husband is tall and they worked together to cover my husband's full outter arm in two back to back days. When Trevor realized they needed more time to make this project perfect, he was honest and communicative but what we appreciated the most was that he didn't rush through to finish the tattoo, he spent time to make sure each section was perfect and up to his standard, really caring for the client and what he will be wearing on his body forever. That to me is worth the money. You truly get what you pay for. We will always respect honesty and integrity and what he did accomplish in two days was A LOT! The shop was very clean, and I really enjoyed the interactions with the staff when I came to drop off food. I will recommend Trevor & N9ne Lives to everyone! This is an incredible spot, we are so grateful to have found it. They have found long term clients in us for sure.

Summary: wonderful experience for the first tattoo, talented artist, adorable style, cozy studio with free movies to watch while getting the work done; will come back. I had the pleasure of getting my first tattoo done by Vanessa, the talented owner of The Tattoo Gemologist, and I must say it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. I initially found her through Instagram and was impressed with her style, which shared similar vibe with the artist in foreign country I had originally wanted to work with but was not able to due to schedule conflict. Vanessa was more than willing to take on the challenge of creating the design in her own unique style (custom crayons book style). On the day of the tattoo session, Vanessa was incredibly kind and patient, walking me through the entire process and making me feel at ease. She even offered breaks if needed, which was a thoughtful gesture I hadn't expected. The tattooing process turned out to be almost painless, contrary to my initial apprehensions. Vanessa acknowledged that pain tolerance varies among individuals, which made me feel more comfortable throughout the session. The color choices Vanessa made for the tattoo were spot-on, as the colors complemented each other perfectly. We also discovered that yellow didn't show up well on my skin during the process, and she shared this valuable information with me, which I'll keep in mind for future tattoos. I followed Vanessa's aftercare instructions diligently during the healing process, but some areas of the tattoo did fade after the flaking off stage. Fortunately, Vanessa assured me that touch-ups are normal and offered to do one for me. I did my research online and confirmed that this is indeed a regular part of the tattoo healing process, which gave me peace of mind. I am extremely satisfied with the experience and the tattoo itself. Though it is an hour drive for me, it is totally worth it. I've already scheduled my next appointment with Vanessa, and I can't wait to come back for more. read more

Yesterday I got one of my dream tattoos. Vanessa was very nice and easy to talk to. She made it super easy to make an appointment. I have about ten tattoos and almost every other tattoo artist I've gone to have been very heavy handed. Not Vanessa, she made sure I was comfortable and if I needed to take a break that I could.
