Would never recommend Apex Motors of Hazleton. Please read entire review! Owner/Salesman claims he just wants happy customers. Where I failed as a buyer during my inspection before buying the car. Didn't notice the missing/broken rear wiper, tread on tires extremely low barely passing inspection depth, cracked front seat molding, high beam switch broken and extremely rusty rotors which signifies the car was setting a long time. These items were recognized by my mechanics immediately. There was a check engine light which was promised by the dealer it would be cleared, not a big deal. The Dealer said they would fix and clear the check engine light while inspecting the car prior to me taking ownership. After I signed the paperwork they inform me they couldn't clear the check engine, no big deal, just bring it back. However, with a check engine light still on they slapped on an inspection sticker. This is a big no no. I have always failed an inspection with a check engine light and the auto shop always said they can not place an inspection sticker on the car with a check engine light. But Apex Motors placed the inspection sticker on my car. Immediately driving home on the highway I noticed the car started to shift hard. So when I brought the car back for them to repair the check engine light I informed the Owner/Salesman of the hard shifting. He stated "I just want happy customers. If it means I take it to the auto repair shop or the Volvo Dealer to fix it then that's what we'll do". Obviously one big lie. They said they would need the car for awhile to have someone trouble shoot and repair the check engine. It was too involved for them. They kept it for over a week and a half. They took it to a Volvo dealer which said it was a computer module that needed replaced and programmed for $1000. The lady at the dealer stated this is why I feel the hard shifting in the car. Of course Apex Motors did not want to pay $1000 so they tried to get a 3rd rate auto tech replace and reprogram the module. He was supposedly off for health reasons and they could not schedule an appointment. They sat on the car not having it fixed. I finally called and said I need the car. I now had to drive to Allentown to get my car. They gave me the number to the auto tech so I could schedule an appointment myself. I set a date. During the day of the appointment I took off of work. It happened to snow that morning. I drove 1.5 hours to get to his little garage in a place that reminds you of Mad Maxx. He of course did not show or call to cancel. I informed the dealer. The representative states do you want me to call him for you? No, I just want you to do what you promised and have it fixed the day I bought the car. At this point I still question the problem I was truly feeling with the car. I knew it had to be the transmission. I re-checked the Volvo dealer's evaluation and no where on the invoice did it state they checked the transmission. I even argued with the Dealer representative on the phone. I decided to take it to a transmission specialist. Low and behold I was absolutely right. $3400 later the transmission has been correctly rebuilt. Then immediately after receiving the car it let me set for a major misfire. This was identified by the mechanic as a bad coil which was caused by the washing down of the engine. This cost $800. At this point I still have the original check engine light to resolve which will need cleared and new tires to buy. I bought this car on October 15. I just got the car back on Feb 8th after all of these problems. I am a driver that puts 20000 miles a year on my cars. I have driven a little over a 1500 miles since buying the car. That's how little I have had this car. I understand there is no way to know how a car was handled previously. But at least go over your cars thoroughly and have them fixed and inspected prior to someone buying your car. read more
