Jim is a terrific computer jock and a tremendously nice guy. He has come to my house to fix problems large and small (usually caused by my ineptitude) and never once complained. Jim's a good nice guy and he has helped me out quite a few times with my computer problems.They've all been house calls. He replaced my video card, once tested my ram and found the bad ones. He replaced my water cooler with a new air one (since I don't do overclocking) I mainly call him when I have a hardware problem to fix. I just have to say I do disagree with some of his pricing practices, in particular, testing ram. He now refuses to do it, as he says it takes too much time with memtest and whatnot. Furthermore, he now will not do any work for me, period. I'm not sure why, as he won't answer it seems, he's not always very direct. I did say I think it's ludicrous to pay $75 an hour for just running memtest. If I recall correctly in past he did not charge by the hour, but had a two separate charges, one for the diagnosis and one for the fix itself (minus any parts that you have to pay for) that is no longer than case. I guess he thought it was rude for me to be against his policy of charging $75 an hour, for THAT at least. Other things where there is actual work done, I would not be against paying the service charge. I asked him if he would just test the RAM to get it to post, and he said he wasn't going to do any work for me anymore. I wanted him to do it because he probably has several computers that he can test the RAM on, while I didn't want my computer locked up for days. Still the old policy of a diagnosis and service charge was much better. Edit: I am not bothering (harrassing I guess you think) you via email at least. You told me today you wouldn't do any more work for me, (as you say in your comment) and I haven't contacted you since then (except once to ask why, which you didn't respond to) Yes, it is your right not to do business with me and it's MY right to state my opinion of your customer service, if you consider that "bothering" well, too bad. I can call poor service, poor service if I want! It's true I have been pleased with your work in the past, but you said there will be no more, so since our business relationship is over, I figured I may as well state what I think now. As far as my computer not booting. Well, I have remedied that situation by putting the old DIMMS back in. I think I told you. I don't considering running memtest, even for 3 or 4 days "tedious" in the least! Electricity is 11.3 cents a kilowatt-hour.
