Ann Arbor Arms is THE BEST range, store, and training facility for anyone from novice to professional/competitive shooter. It had been YEARS since I had handled a firearm. My biggest apprehension was if I could remember how to be safe from handling to firing to range. I joined A3 as an elite member last year but finally "pulled the trigger" (hehe) and signed up for a Ladies' Night last week. This was the best decision I could have made to reintroduce myself. Ladies' Night was from 5-7pm, with two hours of instruction and walk through before heading down to the range. Not only instruction but conversation, snacks and a safe space for women to ask any questions. A3 provided the sidearms and ammo. Everyone had a great time and was able to fire 12 shots at a target provided. I left with a lot more confidence to visit and expand my skill by leveraging the elite membership. I cannot say enough of how fantastic A3 is for a gun owner. They have tons of specials, sales, events and the membership perks are amazing. This was not my first visit or class but this was the first time I ever fired at this range. Hit me up if you have any questions or want to get a membership. The range staff keeps a close eye on the range and addresses issues to prevent a safety issue. The ranges are temperature controlled and in great working order. They are suitable for pistol or initial rifle setup but you really need an outdoor 100 yard range if you want to dial in for hunting. I have not taken any classes there yet but have heard good things from others. They can take your from the basics to advanced. I see the shooters who have taken classes and it shows.

The unique thing about the school is that students are placed in a band right away even as beginners. (Yes I was skeptical about this.) So there is a weekly private lesson and then there's a weekend band practice this incentivizes students to practice more, because they don't want to let down their band members. At the end of each session, they all do a live performance together. I was impressed at the final performance by how many adults had joined bands in this way. They seemed so joyful. I would definitely recommend this place. If you are looking for guitar, keyboard, drum, or vocal lessons.

I crimped and saved in order to finally take an herbal intensive and was very excited to invest in furthering my education. The first couple classes I felt a tad uneasy, but I chalked it up to getting used to being in a classroom setting after years of having never set foot in a school. But as the course went on I realized that my intuition was correct. This was a TRAP! Basically, Mary Light gave us a list of books we needed to purchase on top of the tuition costs and told us to read them. As if the reading list was what we paid upwards of $2,000 for. Some of the lectures had a modicum of information, but if anyone dared stop her to ask a well-intentioned clarifying question they were met with a very roundabout non-answer that redirected you to one of the books on your reading list. If she wasn't duking it out with a student, many of the lessons just devolved into a bitter and defensive diatribe about how conventional medicine was more riddled with quacks than the herbal community...or talking about her cat. After meeting up with one of the more advanced students I was told that there were at that time and times before been some law suits against Mary and that her credibility was in question. Whether or not she has legitimate certification and/or experience I haven't investigated, but I can safely say she is not a good teacher. I somehow mustered the energy to attend all the classes except the last one and with every class more and more people had dropped off. I have to assume that anyone giving this school a good review had a good experience with a class taught by someone other than Mary, feel somehow indebted to her and want to dilute the awful reviews, had much lower expectations than I did, or are just trying to stay on good terms with her so they can justify giving her so much of their money and make it through the course with their sanity. No wonder the change in the name... I also happened to have a housemate that wound up taking the Massage Therapy course, which is even more expensive. She validated a lot of my experiences and added that Mary would tell their class they'd have a sudden pop quiz the next day, the students would go home and kick their studies into gear studying something Mary hadn't even really touched on only to have Mary deny she'd ever said anything about a pop quiz the day before. And I don't think it was a tactic to get a lazy class working harder, I just think she's off. PLEASE DO YOURSELF A SOLID AND SAVE YOUR MONEY! The only reason I didn't take Jim McDonald's course was because I didn't have proper transportation capabilities. Even an online course will bare more fruit than this place. I would hazard a guess that the Mary L. that has review on here is the owner of this school. I have no idea how one is able to swindle people repeatedly without apparent consequence.

Nowadays, CPR instructors want to shuffle people in and out of a room by a specific time, not giving the topics the coverage they deserve. Ishmael was incredibly detail-orientated and passionate about saving lives. I highly recommend that everyone use Heart-Revive, no matter their ability level. Although I've known Mishka for a lot longer,…read moreas he has been a family friend for quite a long while, it wasn't until 7-months ago that I began receiving tutoring from him, in preparation to me attending Andrews University, with me now confidently being able to say that my experience with him has been nothing short of outstanding. Mishka's knowledge and experience in math makes the quality of his tutoring sessions a lot better compared to other tutors. From him knowing exactly how to help me understand new math concepts to making sure I receive enough practice with them, Mishka makes sure I know everything I should for each math course we've covered, with him teaching me ahead, to fully prepare me for when I go to University. The thing that sets Mishka and Minee LLC apart from the rest of the crowd in my opinion is the personaliezd tutoring curriculum created based on your knowledge. When I started to get tutored, I had many gaps that Mishka found through an assessment test of my knowledge, due to previous poor teachers, lack of practice, or occassional absense of material coverage, etc... Despite all that, Mishka quickly found those gaps, eliminating them right from the start through a large amount of practice, with me no longer making silly mistakes as often. (Mishka gives homework after his tutoring sessions. Although this might scare some people off, as it did me when I began, him doing that helped me out a ton in the preparation process for my university courses, as I'm sure it will help everyone else that will be tutored by him). The final thing that I love about Mishka is his friendliness and approachable nature. Also just want yall to know that if you ever need help, you can always text him about a quick problem and he will more often than not send you a full response on how to solve it, without giving the answer away. Atop of that, he is always encouraging me to do better, motivating me to push myself academically and never give up. With this, and everything said above, I believe Mishka is the best tutor I know and have ever had.
