i attended the first time shooters class on 4/18/2026 , it was very informative and enjoyable the instructor was awsome! i attended the cpl class 6 years ago, that was also a very rewarding experiance, the reason for first time class is because you can never stop ;learning! this message is meant to let the staff there know why you have to be what some people percieve as arrogant is because you are in an environment where there is no room for customers who come in thinking and acting like they know firearms and are arrogant as well and im sure the advice you give to this type of customer is really liability because they just dont know and wont listen to experience . very unsafe im sure i for one apprciate experience thanks guys and gals! read more

I recently came here to get a monthly membership for the gun range. This was my second time coming here. It was my first time bringing my rifle the lady at the counter and asked me what type of caliber I was shooting and what kind of ammo I said 5.56 green tip she notified me that the green tips were not allowed on the range so I purchased non-green tip 556 round from them and I proceeded to go to the pistol range after I was done at the pistol range I went to the counter and the lady requested I give her my green tip rounds as I was pulling my ammo out of the bag to give to her the manager, Gary Allen was very rude and was harassing me as I was giving it to her so I requested my money back on the ammo. This place is not friendly at all. I do not recommend spending your money here. I would take it to somewhere else like Center Mass in Livonia where they're friendly and they treat you like family. I don't know what's wrong with that guy that day, but that was very disrespectful and I will be taking my money elsewhere again stay away from this place. They are very unprofessional. This review is for the range and the classroom only. The classroom is well-lit, organized, and there are two screens for lecture slides which is helpful. They do sell drinks but for snacks or lunch you will have to make your own arrangements. During classroom breaks I walked around the store and browsed. When I asked to see something the staff were polite and professional. The person working the range counter was as well - no issues at all. The range is separated into at least two different sections. Compared to some other ranges the target equipment is a bit old-school but everything seemed to be in working order so I cannot complain too much. The other folks that were not with my class seemed to be following proper safety procedures also. read more

Decent assortment of guns, separated by brand. Used and new guns are in the same case but clearly marked. $50 per new transfer $25 for each additional in the same transaction. Is overpriced. Plenty of $25 transfers in the area. Prices of guns are higher than finding one for cheap, shipping + transfer but factor overhead costs and instant gratification. 3 stars, 4 stars because the staff are extremely friendly, not pushy, I wanted to see like 6 guns and they obliged with no problem while we had a discussion on guns, cans, tv shows. I attended a special event here a few weeks ago. I wish I knew the gal's name who helped me pick out a compact glock for target practice. She was very knowledgeable and really helpful. The facility is pretty clean, they offer a variety of classes, and overall our event went quite well. A couple of the people behind the used gun counter seemed less than interested in answering a couple questions I asked about a gun I was considering purchasing. So I didn't make the purchase there. I went in there at 1:15 on Saturday afternoon and was told that I was next in line, probably a 10 or 15 minute wait for a pistol range. I sat there for about 20 minutes and watched a number of people come out of the pistol range. Then a big group looked like from a CPL class or something walks up and they all go into the pistol range ahead of me. So now I'm sitting there for about 40 minutes and two other guys come walking up to the guy and he gives them both pistol range passes. The shop is beautiful, everything laid out a nice place its own rack. A very personal step took the minor item of repair it finished before I left, that's what I call great service! Took the CPL class here, grt instructor, experienced and well informed. Will be back for membership, really clean and Covid prepped. Love the variety of guns and riffle, and accessories. The girls at the counter were polite and ready to assist. The old man in there is strict and all business, Do Not Mess with him! This place was on my radar for a long time, since there aren't any ranges in Canton so this is the closest one to us. The parking and due to covid the weekend are not a good time to visit, since the classes are only happening on the weekend they are only taking maximum of 8 ppl at a time, you'll have to wait outside for someone to come out and for you to go in. I am absolutely tired of the salesman's attitudes. One guy is friendly and nice while the rest of the sales men are total jerks. Rather than offer assistance they let you stand around and stand around. I have spent thousands on firearms, accessories, and range time here over nearly a decade. Today was the last straw. Went to practice at the range and was looking to purchase a shot guy. Looked from a distance for about 20 minutes at the counter without a single salesmen offering assistance. The one salesman who I've always purchase my firearms from said hello to me. After waiting another 5 minutes I decided to go hit the range. After finishing I went back to look at their shot gun selection. I asked the guy behind the counter if they had 2 specific models and they did not. Rather than offering to show me similar shot guns he kept his mouth shut and continued to sit on his far butt. Only thing keep this place open is the high demand for fire arms in America. Best range, shop, service in Michigan. A great combo of product and service. The range is properly vented and well kept. It's divided into 2 segments, so they can have a class or league on one side. You can rent a gun very inexpensively if you want to try one before you buy OR if you just happen to be stopping in and want to shoot. It's a 25-yard range - pistols only. As for the shop, they have a very well chosen selection of guns and they stand by what they sell. You won't find the number of guns that you will at Cabelas but you won't find a bunch of junk that you need to weed through, either. They are always competitively priced. If you want something special, they'll order it. Ditto for their accessories - holsters, gun safes, cleaning supplies - good selection of good products. They're also the cheapest place I've seen (including the Internet) to for Surefire flashlights. They offer a wide selection of classes taught by professional firearms instructors (many are or were military or law enforcement trainers) . All of the owners (I believe) are or were law enforcement officers. The staff has always been knowledgeable, friendly, easy-going, helpful and professional to me, my wife, family and friends. I came here with my lady yesterday, as I have a number of times before, and yesterday was not our favorite time interacting with staff. A couple of weeks ago, we purchased a Smith & Wesson M&P 9 Shield EZ from here. We were having trouble with the slide at home, so we came to the range to try it out. She kept having a problem with the slide jamming again. I checked it out, but I couldn't find the issue. Neither of us could. Once we were both done, we went to the counter where she purchased the M&P EZ Shield and let them know we had an issue with her firearm jamming. First thing the guy said, without looking at or requesting to look at the gun, was "I guarantee it's a user issue and not an issue with the gun." She let him know it would fire a couple of rounds at a time then jam. He brought up the thumb safety which both of us said was not the issue. My lady even let him know she has fired that gun before at the range, rented not owned, and she's never had an issue with the M&P 9 Shield EZ. The gun was the issue. Another salesman came over to help and mentioned the angle in which one holds the gun may cause it to jam. My lady was adamant that she knows how to fire a gun properly. Both salesmen then asked me if I had problems with my gun. I had a different firearm though, let them know, and said I had no problems with it. I didn't mention this, but I did not purchase my firearms there. For those reading this far, you can see where our issue is. I eventually asked them if they could take a look at the firearm since we had it in our bag. As soon as one of the sales guys looked at it, he said the gun was dry. Problem solved. He oiled the firearm and the other sales guy, recognizing the error of speculation without looking at the firearm, suggested we go back to the range and fire some rounds through the gun. We did and the gun shot without jamming. First, as my lady, it was upsetting that she was treated as if she didn't know what she was doing simply because she is a woman. Second, asking me if I had trouble with the firearm simply because I'm the man was even more insulting. Third, we know all sales are final and purchasing a firearm that has issues is not a good look but it would have been way better if they asked to see the firearm first before insulting their customers. When we're in town, we go to this range multiple times a month. This will probably be our last time coming here to the range and making a purchase because the customer may not always be right, but we for damn sure weren't wrong. Fourth, we weren't even given an apology. One of her closest friends made a purchase a few months ago when they made it a girls day to check out the inventory after receiving a heads up from a Facebook post. Me and her have been coming to this range as I stated above. We have come here for a couple of trainings and meetings as well. Well, coming back is a no go for us now. read more

I already owned a 9mm and 45 that I loved but they help me pick out a great armalite 38 that is a great ankle pistol. My friend behind the counter who I will not name has helped train me technics which resulted in me shooting faster and way more accurate. They offer classes for everything you can imagine. Where to even start... Went here to look around and this will be the last time I ever come here. Started by asking for subsonic ammo for .556 and the big guy behind the counter tells me that they only have one ammo and it won't feed properly through a .556 and I asked why do you even carry that then? He then begins to tell me he only knows of one ammo company that makes subsonic rounds and they are always out of stock. I then ask him what company that is and he looks at me like I have two heads! The stuff here are very rude and unprofessional to say the least! They all act like they are ex green berets with ten years of service under there belt! I myself was an Army Ranger and don't go around tooting my own horn as much as these douche bags do! But the icing on the cake was when me and my girlfriend were asking about a rifle and law enforcement discounts and if she gets a discount and what is the percentage, and some older man strolls up and immediately tells me some astronomical price to which I laughed. I then ask so is that the price for law enforcement, and he tells me well is the gun for you or her? I originally told him it was for her and that's why I was asking if she got a discount. This is the last time I will come to this under stocked tiny gun store to deal with rude old men that think their shit don't stink. We ordered a gun and it was shipped there. Every time we called to check the status, we got hung up on, disconnected & very rudely talked too when they actually would answer. We get there and tell them the name and what type of gun and they lost it! Finally, they found it and made it seem like it were my fault it went missing in the first place. I dropped off my weapon on 11/16/2021 to be sent to the gunsmith for some work. By 4/13/2022 I had to hunt down where my weapon was. Turns out that back in January the gunsmith dropped it back at Firing Line with a page of notes on why he couldn't do the work on my weapon. Firing Line stated they called us on 1/6/2022, but I received no call in my phone records. My phone works and I don't have an issue receiving calls. So the page of notes was removed, and the call was never connected to my phone that Firing Line made for me to pick up my weapon. Oh, and they had to find it when we went to pick it up. I am so not happy with the service. Another weapon I bought from there the site popped off as soon as I started shooting. They couldn't fix that either, I had to do that on my own. read more

Less than thrilled with the staff. The range here is decent enough, and we've gone a number of times and rarely had to wait for a spot. However, my last experience there was enough of a turnoff to not return. My husband and I had just sent out our target, and a young man a couple slots over hit the cable and knocked it down. No big deal, stuff happens, right? The staff member we reported the incident to was somewhat less than gracious about it, but moved us over a couple slots, and we resumed our practice. What happened next just floored me- the same staffer returned, and unsolicited, put his hands on me and "corrected" my stance while I was aiming my weapon. Well if you were a serious gun owner you would never buy a gun from firing line unless your a first timer and don't have a clue. This place is so unprofessional and terrible lack of knowledge. The salesmen was so rude and improper while I asked to see a gun. I mentioned something about the gun I was trying to buy had a Cold hammer forged barrel and he didn't even know what I was talking about. Lol Then he didn't really acknowledge any of my questions and I wanted to order a gun and he didn't respond so I just left. By the way before I came to this store my cousin and buddy told me not to go there because the employees are so ridiculous. If I ever need/want a gun, the Firing Line has been my go to destination for almost ten years. I fired my first round ever in their old shooting range facility. Their newish location on Ford Rd is great and has a huge variety of firearms. They sell your average AR-15's like bushmasters, Colt, Ruger, etc. and they also carry select higher end models such as Noveske's, H&K, etc. They offer class 3 items such as suppressors and short-barrellled rifle configurations as well. They have accessories for your rifle from a variety of high end sights to your muzzle breaks. Their prices on firearms are competitive, definitely better than your mom and pop gun stores. They are a law enforcement distributor for Glock and Smith and Wesson. They are one of the very few places in Michigan to offer the lowest price Glocks for Police/Military/Fire. Their selection of firearms has always kept me coming back. They have just about every make and model of firearm you can imagine, and if they do not have it in stock- they will get it. They do not just carry your typical Glock, Sig, etc. but they have a wide variety of HK, Beretta, Walthers, and several 1911's. I'm not just talking about your typical Kimbers and Colts, they have a selection of high end models such as Wilson Combat, Les Baer, and Nighthawk Custom. Their staff has always been friendly and helpful, and do not "dumb down" everything to make you feel stupid as a gun buyer. You know the guys I'm talking about at gun stores who will talk to experienced shooters like an idiot. Not these guys. Many of the employees at the Firing Line are current or retired police/military and have experience in what they are talking about, and are not just trying to sell you something that will make them more money. The range is decent as well, your typical handgun range, and they also have a 50 yard rifle range. This is great for sighting in your AR-15 and stretching it out every now and then. read more

Three girl friends and I decided to be manly and shoot guns and drink scotch (er, not at the same time) to offset a friend's tame bachelor party that night. We discovered Firing Line Indoor Gun Range online and found their facility to be as modern and clean as billed on their site. We chose .22s since a couple girls had not shot before. One of the clerks showed us the basics in loading the magazine and proper position when holding the gun. She invited us to Ladies' Night this month for more instruction and a chance to sample various 9mm handguns. Target practice was a lot of fun, but one of the rental guns had to be replaced and the other wouldn't automatically spring back to show an empty chamber when the magazine was finished, so we had to pull it back manually to check. It wasn't the typical Friday night out, but we're going back for more. read more

Good variety of products and clean. The parking good as well. Many lanes including lanes for rifles. Ventilation is OK. This is important to me because I have a respiratory problem and very sensitive to the environment. I do not experience problems at other ranges. The staff is what drops the my rating. I purchased an expensive pistol, hours of range time, rented guns, and ammo and the staff is stand offish and not helpful, even rude in some cases. They are usually busy and just moved their facility so I gave them the benefit of the doubt. That may have put them on edge. I followed them to their new location hoping the staff would not be so stressed. Know that I am not intimated, know a lot about guns /ammo, but I found their attitudes stand offish. I wanted to buy another gun there but ended up going on line because no one would wait on me. I would not be offended by this except that I waited each time I went there (more than 5X) after the move. If you read my other reviews I value service in exchange for my business.
