Our realtor gave us APEX as an option since we are moving into our first home. We received an estimate quote and James was our relocation Consultant. They were very quick to schedule same day, over the weekend. They were able to make it happen that Monday. James was prompt, very polite, and courteous. Even with covid, he followed protocols and wore a mask. Our dog liked him so that was a great sign, and he was kind to our animals. I ended up calling the office the next day with some questions once I got the estimated quote back. Their customer service team was great and super nice. Very helpful and answered all my questions. They had fair labor cost! Truly! Great price. They do charge for ACTUAL hours worked. The more work you do, equals the less they have to do, which means less money ya spend! You do pay by card at the end of the move, which was nice feature. The only reason we didn't hire them was because they started at 9am, when the competitor could come at 7am. For us, who are up at 5am, this just worked better for our timeframe. Both companies were on par with the same estimate, which was so comforting. They did come in under in terms of the bid price for both labor and materials. I really have no real reason not to hire these guys. Again, thank you so much to James, Loretta and their team. Our things were packed by some other company in another state and Apex unloaded items in our new home. Most of the things arrived, except for 1 box which was not checked off the list. The manager or whoever it was on the phone, kept telling the guys who were unpacking it, that the missing bag was there. He even said to make sure we were not hiding it. Unpackers then went through all our boxes, opened up everything, and at the end couldn't find it. SHOCKING! Not to forget floor and wall damage, when they kept crates without any blankets. They even damaged the entry way while bringing boxes in on the dolly, Didn't cover it with moving blankets. Barely covered the carpet and then all kept walking all over it when it was raining outside.. carpet now covered with leaves and debris. Ps. They said the truck was 2300cft. When I measured it, it was 26 x 8 x9. No where close to 2300 cft. The staff that was hired for the packing of our move was unprofessional and did not properly wrap items (or wrap them at all). We hired Apex for our in town move. We had them come out and due a quote before the move, so that we had the most accurate moving cost (or so we thought). The movers were on time and friendly the day of the move, however the move itself was very disappointing. The first approximately four hours they were at our hour there was a lot of "down time". We understand that there absolutely needs to be breaks as moving is hard work- however there seemed to be more joking around in our garage, ordering pizzas, and complaining about how much stuff we had, then actual moving. We had everything boxed up and ready to go when they got here- for reference. The move ended up taking FOUR extra hours. I understand an estimate is just that an estimate. However when it's four hours (which cost us substantially more) you start to question whether the estimate was ill done by their employee or if time wasn't efficiently used. For moved less than a mile away. Our king sized memory foam mattress, which we were assured would be protected, was also left out in the rain and took days to dry out. Overall a very frustrating and disappointing experience. We wouldn't recommend. read more

Well, here I stand with nothing better to do than write a yelp review while I wait for them to show up. I was given a window of an hour and a half, which is pretty big in my mind. I called an hour in asking when they thought the movers would be there and I was told another half hour. In my ancy-ness, I moved half the stuff myself into the elevator and plopped it in a pile in the parking garage. Fifteen minutes after the half hour passed, I called again only to be told that they had just left about fifteen minutes ago. The lady told me she would call me back with an update (yeah...right...still waiting for that call). So now almost 2 hours of waiting, and no one is here. Way to go on promptness and communication. So now I get a call from one of the movers saying they are 18 minutes away. Mind you that they were supposed to be here at the latest 48 minutes ago. That will leave me with exactly 42 minutes with the elevator I reserved for 3 hours. This part of the review was written a few days after my final move. The movers themselves were great. They were very careful, polite and did a great job moving some heavy/awkward items. I have no complaints with them. What I do have a complaint with is their management support. I was very disappointed in their communication. I would have liked to have received a discount for them being so late. They were well out of their arrival window. Moving is stressful and the tardiness of the move made the whole day even more stressful. I had to initiate all of the phone calls to see if the move was on time. I understand that things happen, but please let me know what is going on. Common courtesy dictates that if you are going to be late, you call. Would I use them again? Very disappointed with this company. Spoke with very nice person to make appointment for moving survey of our home. The representative showed up 15 minutes late. He was nice enough and seemed to know what he was doing. When he was leaving he said he would email a cost estimate that evening or first thing the following day. Just OK - did an in-town move but had them take stuff overnight due to timing issues. Several pieces of furniture scratched; not sure how that happens when they cover everything. Chose to send 1 of 3 floor lamps with them as estimator said it'd be fine with lampshade & bulb removed; sure enough, 1st thing at delivery was showing us how the floor lamp had broke. Glad we took all remaining lamps with us in cars. Overall, OK - felt they hustled as much as possible but on 2nd day, one mover who hadn't been at day 1, had such severe back issues witnessed him repeatedly going downstairs backward so they finally left him upstairs & brought boxes up to top of stairs. Son's IKEA bed - they put mattress on but left the 2 sets of wooden slats in corner, totally didn't put them on & we had to correct later ourselves. read more

The worst moving experience ever. Next time, I would move myself (not something I have done in 25 years) or hire Home Depot workers before I hired Apex again. I made the mistake of not asking for an estimate and emailed them with a very rough list of things that I had to move (which was sort of inaccurate as I ended up having to move to a different place at the last minute). The movers showed up and noted there was quite a bit more than was in the 'virtual' quote. To me, this meant nothing except I would have to pay for a few more hours.... no big deal. What they didn't communicate was that they weren't sure all of my things would fit in their truck. First issue was I 'had' (past tense) a very expensive, heavy, custom made dining room table top. They tried to lift it and commented that it was 'questioning their manly hood' (I did mention the heavy table i the email). Sure enough, they didn't feel comfortable moving it as it was super heavy (~400lbs) and made me sign a waiver. Go figure, 3 minutes after I signed a waiver they dropped the table and broke it. Second issue was they started to grumble that the truck was filling up. After repacking it a few times, they assured me everything would fit and 'they do this for a living'. We did a quick walk through of everything else that needed to go, and I headed over to the new place. When they arrived about an hour later, they told me to wait by the truck so they wouldn't have to lock it every time they made a trip to the apartment as it was parked in an alley. The apartment manager came out and mentioned to them that most people that move in unload the contents of the truck onto the loading dock, shut the garage gate, and load up the elevators (which he gave them to the key to) so no one needs to babysit the truck. Their response was 'that didn't make any sense'. The only reason I can think of that they would say that is it meant less money in their pocket as it would be reduced hours... because it made perfectly good sense. Instead, they took a few items at a time, waited for the elevator, went up the elevator, walked down the hall to drop the things off, went back to the elevator, waited for the elevator, came back down and repeat and repeat and repeat for about 5 hours. And unfortunately, there were several of my items that didn't even make it from the old house despite them showing up and saying 'the good thing is we got everything'. I guess 'everything' in their minds didn't include a 10 x 13 rug, a console table, and a few other odds and ends that I had asked them to bring. The whole day to move a 1 bedroom/1 den apartment took from 8:30AM - 9PM to the tune of $1,650 (and the new place was only 5 miles from the original house). Unfortunately, the 'fun' didn't end their. I ended up having to pay Junk Haulers $225 to haul away the dining room table they broke and a 10x13 rug that I couldn't move myself and needed to be out of my house. Next up I had to rent a UHaul for $100 to move the other items. And while moving the other items, I noticed they broke two of my landscaping lights and have to pay another $100 to have them fixed. Also... no mention of breaking them. All in all, I am out $1,650 for paying Apex to 'move' me, $2,000 for a custom dining room table, $225 for Junk Haulers, $100 for a UHaul, and $100 for a landscaper. Worse yet, I am out 10 hours of my time which is pretty important while you are in a middle of a move. When I emailed them with my experience, they agreed to refund me $450 which I personally think is a joke. A friend of mine had recommended Apex to me and had a totally different experience. So if you are into Russian Roulette and need some extra stress in your move, give Apex a chance. read more

After moving ourselves from apartment to apartment, from Florida to Seattle (no really.. all by ourselves), I had finally had enough and said we were hiring movers to do it the next time we moved. I looked at pretty much every Seattle based moving company that would go from West Seattle to Redmond and not charge an arm and a leg. My husband recently started working for a realtor in the area and they all recommended APEX for our move. I got in contact with Kirk who was super helpful and also the girls in the office (Tracey I think?). Everywhere else that I called had quoted two movers, the price, but never an estimate on hours. Now, our place wasn't very big - 700sqft - and we didn't have a lot of furniture, mostly just boxes. But APEX quoted three movers, at 4.25hrs. That way one of them would be loading and staying with the truck while the other two were going back and forth with boxes and stuff. It turned out to be the right call. They showed up exactly when they said they would and got right to work. Our larger furniture items were wrapped carefully and everything was delivered the same way it was in our old place. Unloading as usual went a lot faster, and they were done in exactly 4.25 hours. Having the 3rd person certainly helped, so even though it was more than I had intended to spend, who knows how much more I would have paid for only two movers. The moving guys themselves were all really professional and courteous. The driver (whose name I can't remember unfortunately) was the one I dealt with for payment and general info, and he was fantastic. Very personable and great to deal with. The guys were great, they showed up a little early which was fine with me. The price was good and overall I was happy with the move. They did forget to bring a glass coffee table top but it fit into my trunk and I got it here Just fine. Also, I have a double recliner and the seat back was not properly attached. So maybe if you could send someone to just fix It as I can't seem to pull the back off to readjust it. But like I said it was an over all great experience. The guys were very professional and had great attitudes. I think it's the attitudes of the people who work for you that make the difference between a good experience and a bad experience. We have used moving companies several times in the last ten years, not even one of them would I ever use again or recommend. Apex changed that-I will use them again and I highly recommend!!! From the time I talked to Kori, in the office, to get an estimate-to the time I wrapped things up with her, the process was so simple and expeditious, I kept thinking it was too good to be true. I was actually afraid the movers wouldn't show up, I hadn't signed any contract or put any money down. But the 3 person crew did indeed show up! They clearly had worked together many times and had their systems down. Clint was the lead, very personable, and they all worked efficiently while still being very friendly and thoughtful of the job being done. All of our furniture was wrapped securely. Every item and every box numbered and recorded. We had a very heavy marble table that was wrapped very careful and Clint assured me it would be handled safely. When it got to the heavy items, 2 more guys showed up to help the team. Brilliant! We lived in a 6th floor condo, the elevator had to be used and items taken through the parking garage. I never heard one complaint. . Our items were taken to their storage facility, so I will write another review when it's all unloaded again someday, but I will have no qualms. I recently used Apex to help with my cross country move. They were very accommodating and professional from the very start. I was able to book my consultation, packing and moving date well in advance as I was on a timeline and moving services were booking up quickly for this time of year. I have moved in the past without use of packing service and this time I invested the money to have assistance with packing the kitchen, fragiles , wall hangings and electronics. So worth the investment and saved me tons of time as I would have struggled with those items. As for the movers, if I could score a 10, I would give them a 10+.
