He truly cares about each client. The spin classes are high energy there are approx 20 bikes and you reserve your spot in classes (all classes offered even bootcamps) through the app or website. I love this feature because the classes are never over crowded! You've got to try the kettlebell classes. John is certified as master kettlebell instructor and he keeps a close eye on proper form. This is so important and often overlooked in overcrowded classes. John and his wife Pam are very helpful, take advantage of the free assessments you sign up for these with the app as well!

Much to our dismay, all of the trainers we contacted were not only discouraging, but had a fairly draconian view of how to "train" this breed. After meeting Austin and Haley for the first time, we cried tears of joy because we had finally found trainers that could help us and trust with our pup. We had a few training sessions with the both of them and each session we left feeling more confident and capable. Not only were they training our pup but also taught us how to be better handlers. We felt so comfortable with them that when our puppy was 5 months old, we sent her to a 4-week board and train (prior to meeting Austin and Haley, we had agreed to no B&T's). Although, we missed her presence during that time it's the best thing we could have possibly done. We knew that Austin and Haley would give our pup the same level of love and attention that we would given her at home. Before, it was difficult to do certain "regular"dog things such as taking her on a walk. She was very impulsive, latching on, lashing out, etc. typical behavior for a mouthy mal. Upon receiving her back, the groundwork had been laid out for us to have a positive and successful relationship with her. She snuggles with us, plays with us and let's us take her on walks but is still the crazy puppy we fell in love with. She has learned so much in a short amount of time and we finally feel like we can breathe. She still has a lot to learn as do we, which is why we are continuing to work with them. We would not trust anyone else as a trainer and would do this again without a second thought. Austin and Haley are very knowledgeable and it is evident in the results they produce. They are genuine people. They care a lot about the work that they do and your pups well being. They want you and your pup to succeed. We would suggest their services to anyone we know in need of dog training. You won't regret it.

Jessica has Cardio Tabata class Mondays at 6pm which I would describe as cardio/strength interval training where people rotate between different exercise stations. It is a great workout and keeps your blood pumping and heart rate up throughout the class. On Wednesdays at 6pm, she does a strength bootcamp class which is similar to Mondays class. We use free weights, interval training, "yoga bands" I'm not sure what they're called haha. Classes are a lot of fun and it's a great atmosphere, everyone is really welcoming to newcomers and very friendly. I've only been going for about a month and I can feel myself getting stronger, and I've lost about 10 lbs (I've been eating healthier, too). Jessica is a great instructor, and she also meets with people one-on-one for personal fitness training. At Back Cove they offer other services as well, you can receive individual personal fitness instruction, fitness rehabilitation, senior fitness, metabolic recovery, ski fitness, stroller fitness, and posture alignment (check out their website/facebook page for class schedules). The facility is very clean and well maintained. I definitely recommend the classes. It's a fun time and great workout for all stages of fitness.

It's easy to get to, located just outside of the main tourist and traffic area of downtown, and very rarely do I have any trouble parking. What truly sets SH/FT apart though are the trainers, who quite honestly have become more like family and friends for my husband and I (as well as many of the other members). Not only are the trainers highly educated in health and fitness, but they are constantly improving their knowledge and techniques. For me this has provided an incredibly dynamic personal training program that has given me results that I could have never imagined possible. I have never felt so fit, so motivated and so strong - while also constantly being challenged to take it to the next level. And coming from someone who has been working out since about age 5 this is a pretty bold and authentic statement. This attention to detail also carries over into small group training and classes, where the workouts are always challenging, creative and planned with an ultimate goal of full body fitness in mind. I would highly recommend SH/FT to anyone, no matter what your goals are they will help you to reach, and if your experience is anything like mine, exceed them.

Between the personal training and small group classes, I am excited to attend session because it's fun, challenging and improving my health and wellness. I have been working out at Shift for about 2 years and the change has been incredible for me. We all need to exercise to live a healthy life and I feel fortunate that Shift keeps me motivated and having fun while exercises. Their facility is incredibly clean, bright and welcoming. The restrooms have showers lockers and amenities. There are Pelotons bikes, treadmills, free weights, smith machines, TRX bands and not to mention highly educated instructors that are complete geeks about body mechanics and training.
