Since I'm a student, I'm constantly looking for the best deals for any and everything, including gyms/workout classes. I have yet to find a workout as satisfying or inexpensive as Dynamics boot camp classes. You can get a single class for $7.50 or a 10 class pack for $60. You can also share your classes with other people, so you could split a pack with someone, which not many places allow you to do! I have yet to leave this place without shaking a bit and already knowing I'll be very sore the next day. No matter how many people are in the class (I've been in classes with as many as 30 or as few as 6), it's always a good workout. I've also taken classes from a few of the different trainers and love them all. They each have a slightly different style, but you'll get a great total body workout no matter what. The last thing I love about these classes is that there is ZERO judgement from anyone - your fellow attendees or the trainers. The trainers always give options for modifications or show ways to make the move easier (or harder). Everyone is going through the class to the best of their ability and all classes are completed with clapping and high fives all around. The trainers even make sure to go around to everyone and give them a high five and say "good job!" Seriously check this place out if you can!!!

Meredith and her staff are skilled, sensitive, and fun. Meredith, especially, has an intuitive sense of what the body in front of her needs-the hallmark of a great Pilates teacher. Beginners to advanced, no matter how long-or how little-you've sat on the sofa, there's a class or workout here for everyone. What you won't find is elitism or snobbery-you'll never feel judged or like you're in a competition. On a personal note, I was stricken with stage 3 bladder cancer last year, and struggled to find my way back to health. With patience, steady encouragement, and a ton of kindness, Meredith has overseen my slow and painful return to form. CrossFit Casco Bay was a host for our seminar and would be my choice of gyms if I lived in the Portland, Maine area. The gym facility is well equipped with just about any type of training aid you could ever hope for.  The gym is clean, organized, and is very spacious for a functional fitness style facility.  There's showers and plenty of parking out front.  The space used to be a garage and so it has these amazing garage doors that let in a ton of natural light and open up to allow fresh air flow. These people just get it!  They're caring and easily connect with their clients.  They also are highly educated in fitness training and continue to pursue more knowledge to enable them to pass that onto their members.  This is the gym I use when traveling to the area and if I lived anywhere near Portland, I would definitely be a member!  Go check them out!

However all of the instruction and all of the coaches have been amazingly clear, concise, helpful... and every coach there has been encouraging and friendly! I'm starting out more than 300 pounds. And they are doing everything they can to show me how to make it easier until I'm ready to do it the more challenging way. Many of the members I met were talking about activities they do together outside of the gym! It is LGBTQ IA community friendly and many members, including myself were happily discussing our families and same gendered spouses. I am really looking forward to the changes this exercise and community environment can bring to my every day life.

I like that Kristin is attentive to her students and makes corrections as needed, to help you reach your full potential. I attend the "yoga beats" class with the instructor Liz (who is amazing and full of energy), she has changed my perspective on yoga and still gives me a real workout. I highly recommend stopping in for a class for any visitors to Portland and Maine residents looking for something new. K and I love exploring the Old Port after our classes too, it is always an adventure.

Her co owner and husband, Walter was my Instructor for the TRX Team Class and he made me feel right at home as did their friendly members. I have taken many TRX classes in the past and I can say without hesitation that Walter is one of the best! His teaching style is engaging, challenging and encouraging. He coached us to each work at our own level, taking into account our differences and at the same time gave us plenty of options to make each exercise as intense as we wanted. Although it was a group class, Walter customized the workout making it feel personally suited to each of us. The facility is impeccably clean and organized. The decor was bright and welcoming. They have a variety of equipment and ample space to move around as well as super clean bathrooms and showers.

Since attending classes I'm more flexible, have better balance and muscle length. It is a great workout for all body parts. The owner/instructor, Wendee Rogerson, is a Pilates Certified instructor. Wendee is also a certified aerial yoga instructor. With her professional dance background (she has an impressive dance resume!), Pilates training and studies in anatomy, I feel I get a thorough workout with a professional who is paying close attention to my goals and safety. The studio is friendly and clean. The reformers are authentic. Clients are of all ages. There are a variety of class levels and times offered all week. Classes are reasonable prices and free parking (not like studios downtown). Bonus? The studio shares the same parking lot as a health food store! I strongly recommend Scarborough Pilates! It is addicting!
