Aaliyah made a consultation appointment for my home radon mitigation. It was scheduled for 2 weeks later and on the phone I told her it couldn't be any later because the next day I was scheduled for surgery. I got multiple email and text confirmations of the appointment, including the day before and the day of. I arranged childcare for all 4 of my children so I could be present for the consultation. When the technician didn't show up, I called Apex and spoke to Aaliyah who told me that actually, no technician had been assigned to my consult and that we could reschedule for a future day. That doesn't work becuase of my surgery, which I reminded her about. She didn't seem bothered by the mixup or apologetic for the disruption so I guess this is business as usual for Apex Radon. Obviously we won't be using their services and I'm so disappointed by their poor organization. I wish we had contacted another company so we weren't waiting 2 weeks for nothing. read more

I have things to say that are great, and things to say that are frankly- awful. First the great things. We needed a company that could do radon mitigation in a very timely manner due to our closing and couldn't have been more grateful that they fit us into their schedule. Thank you! They have two teams. We got a call the morning of explaining that the crawlspace technician may make it there before the other guy did and that this guy (apologies but I don't know his name) was on his way. The first man showed up and we asked if he would wear a mask. He said no problem and pulled one out of his pocket and then never took it off again. He also was incredibly professional in the way he did the rest of his work. A few hours later the crawlspace technician showed up (so it seemed apparent that the crawlspace technician probably hadn't left before this guy). He showed up and had another guy with him. They both agreed to wear masks but then walked away, removed them, and never put them back on. :/. That would be annoying during a pandemic, but not- you know, the biggest deal breaker. The REAL issue we had was the absolutely disgusting sounds coming from the basement. There was one guy who kept coughing and that may not be something you can help, but both my husband and I distinctly heard him spitting indoors in our basement down there! There vents go right to the living room in our tiny house so we heard them cussing, swearing, everything they said. All that would be forgiveable- but who SPITS in a person's HOME?? Repeatedly? It's absolutely gross. There's no way I would hire anyone who behaved like that again. You should take that outside if you need to do it at all. I'm thrilled this didn't happen to anyone else, and I know this might sound petty, but, think for a minute about your house and whether you want a stranger spitting in it over and over. These guys are the only ones who first install the system, test to see if that has resolved the radon levels, and if it hasn't, then they'll put down a barrier.
