The inspector I had found a lot of cosmetic things, but missed some pretty important things such as the plumbing for my washing machine drain not being to code (which resulted in the washing machine dying in the first week. I had to buy a new one and US inspect told me tough luck), and some of the brand new electrical in the basement being pretty questionable. I am a first time home buyer so I didn't know what to look for, but now that I know, it is incredibly obvious and US inspect definitely should have pointed it out. Also, just found out some of my duct work is asbestos, but my inspector failed to point that out as well, which is why I'm downgrading to one star.
