This place is awful. Sent my newish adult son here for skin issue (eczema) and it cost $343 and didn't help at all. No one followed up with him. Had biopsy for them to just say it was irritated skin.. wasn't helpful at all and had to pay to go to a different dermatologist. Wish I would have seen how low they're ranked here before sending him here. Wish this was like anything else in the world where you don't pay if you're not happy. read more

I had an initial consult with Allye to discuss treating a scar with microneedling. She quoted $100 per treatment, and I would need 3 to 4 treatments. I agreed and scheduled first treatment about a month later. I saw another practitioner, Halei, with no explanation (as to why it wasn't Allye). I was quite surprised when I was told the cost would be $150. Again, no explanation. Since I was eager to do something to minimize my scar, and had waited a month, I, regrettably, agreed and had the treatment. In retrospect, however, I'm pretty upset with myself for agreeing to a 50% increase in the price that I was quoted. So, when a staff member phoned me to confirm a second treatment that I initially scheduled, I declined and cancelled. As I was explaining my reason for cancelling, the staff member hung up on me. I've been going to Apex for about 3 years. I have had several surgeries for skin cancer before going to Apex and those experiences have educated me enough to know Apex is lacking on the medical side of of their business. I cannot comment to the aesthetic side, as I have not used those services. They mis-diagnosed two lesions on my scalp (less then 1/2 inch apart) as dandruff and sent me home with sample bottles of Head and Shoulders shampoo. When it didn't get better I had to insist they biopsy them. They only did ONE OF THEM. Skin cancer. They performed Mohs surgery (and didn't stitch it up). Then because they didn't biopsy the other one, I had to have a second biopsy then surgery within weeks of the first surgery. Increase profits?? Any reasonable doctor would have taken care of both lesions in the same surgical visit. Fast forward 6 months and they decide I need to have another biopsy on my leg. They said it was cancer and again I underwent Mohs surgery in which the goal is to remove the cancer while preserving as much healthy tissue as possible.The questionable area was the size of an unpopped popcorn kernal and the biopsy probably got most of it. My surgical wound (which is again unstitched and gaping open) is the size of a nickel!! The surgeon at Apex is lacking the basic understanding of what Mohs surgery is all about...which is to only remove the cancerous cells and preserve healthy tissue. Now they want to biopsy an acne scar I have had on my face for nearly 1/2 my life (I am 60). I guess he has kids who need college tuition. I will not go back. EVER. read more

This office has let me spend THOUSANDS of dollars over the years (well above what its worth!) and when my husband showed up to his appointment after taking time off work for an appointment they ONLY provide during work hours, calling on his way saying he was hurrying and running a little late, he showed up 15 minutes late, waited at the front window for a few minutes, then was told he was 2 minutes passed his 15 minute late window. Sometimes at these appointments we wait for up to 45 minutes in the waiting room, and ANOTHER 30-45 minutes naked in the exam room. and this is somehow acceptable. I never leave reviews and am SO disappointed with the lack of respect from this office. Being late is not something anyone plans for, especially when they have to request time off work for it! I have requested my medical records as I no longer want to be a patient here, and after not seeing them, and calling them back, they are now telling me they were not requested. I wish I could leave ZERO stars. read more

I used to be a patient of the practice many years ago, to which I had no complaints. Being back in town for the holidays, I decided to make an appointment for my annual skin check before the end of the year. I was pleasantly surprised when I was able to get in the next day. Upon my arrival, I waited 40 minutes for a -maybe- 5 minute appointment. The NP was rushed and never looked at any spots with the hand held microscope I have had used before in skin checks. She told me I had one spot of concern, to which I can get it removed or watch it... but isn't that her job to tell me which to do? When finished with the 3 minute check, she quickly ran out, with the nurse following suit. I was astonished at how not thorough and rushed the entire experience was. The bedside manner was nonexistent. Didn't even ask my name or have a conversation. For a cancer skin check, I would expect much more. My advise- look elsewhere. read more

They are nice but I've had to come into this office literally six times for the same issue. I will spare you all the gory details but at the end of the day, they gave me a procedure that was supposed to work but actually doubled the size of the issue. Dr. Reed did apologize but had no explanation other than, "It's not supposed to do that". And now I have to be referred to a general surgeon b/c she said the issue is now too big for her to be comfortable handling. I thought, "Well yeah, now it is." I won't be back and could not recommend this office. read more

I am extremely disappointed in the service and the outcome of multiple visits to Apex dermatology. I started in Spring with a wart on my thumb. It was burned off at least two times and I ended up with an effected thumb. I was put on antibiotics and as soon as the antibiotics ended, the thumb was infected again. But not according to the dermatologist, at a passing glass the dermatologist said the infection was gone. I attempted to explain that the infection was still there. But, I was treated as if I didn't know my own 74 year old body. It feels like slivers going through the thumb and clear liquid is still oozing out. Her recommendation was to put on some Aquaphor and keep it covered. I did for the first week. But by then, the infection had once again raged. So after six months, I have spent a number of dollars but still have a very sore thumb. In addition, I have a heart condition that requires me to see someone as soon I think there is an infection. Needless to say, I am disappointed. I was not listened to and treated with the proper quality of care. read more

I had an appointment for Feb. 8th 2022. I was given notices for it by text message and by e-mail. I confirmed the appointment each time. When I showed up and it was my turn to see the receptionist, I gave here my insurance card, she looked at it and told me that they no longer accepted my Humana Gold card. I have been a patient with them for five (?) years and have used that card more than once. My complaint is that I received no notice of this. I made a twenty five and a half mile round trip for nothing. I have a forty dollar co-pay for a specialist. She said without insurance they charge $75.00 for steady customers plus any procedures. the nurse practitioner usually freezes portions of my scalp with liquid nitrogen. That alone would boost the price. Cha- ching!. I will be fair and say they are medically competent though. In closing, now I have to find another dermatologist. I will say to Apex patients check with them first about the validity of any insurance that you may carry. read more
