(It's socks only, so my husband borrowed a pair of slippers, as we hadn't pre-planned footwear for our visit.) Once inside, there were so many kitties to visit and plenty of places to relax. It's clear that the cats and facility are very well cared for, as even the floors and corners were being meticulously cleaned during our visit. Visitors are asked to utilize the hand sanitizer when moving between the spaces to minimize potential infections. The cats were relaxed and comfortable with many spaces to run and nap. An orange fluffy girl was being a hissy diva to the other cats, but she absolutely loved people. She crawled into my lap and made it her throne for a while. There's also a separate room for the kittens with plenty of toys for play. They went absolutely bonkers for the wand toys and found cozy spots for naps when they were all tired out. We really enjoyed our visit, and we would definitely return in the future for an afternoon of kitty snuggles.

The owner even taught me about the appropriate way to pet cats to ensure they feel comfortable with you. When I first arrived I forgot to bring socks and they were kind enough to provide me a pair and explain the rules of the studio. They have you sanitize your hand between every room you move into and the floors and couch's were in clean condition. My favorite room was the kitten room, a little gray kitten sat on my lap and cuddled with me they were all so sweet . The cats are up for adoption and this service is a great way for them to be desensitized, I will be back in the future for some more cuddles‍

My relationship with Wolftrap began at college when my sorority would volunteer for their puppy shipment days. It was like a conveyor belt of puppy services one of us would hold a puppy while they got wiped down, flea and tick protection was applied to their coat, and then the vet Dr. Amber Burton would give them their necessary vaccines before they went to their foster homes. Basically this rescue does the Lords work, no exaggeration! They are a nonprofit based out of Vienna Virginia and they bring truck is full of puppies and kittens that they save from kill shelters in Louisiana. In college, I fostered a kitten and now as an adult with my own home I took on fostering two puppy littermates last week!! Christmas and donkey have been such a blessing they are precious angel souls. This rescue makes the process easy. First you go online and you apply to be a Foster, then you are scheduled to have a phone call with a foster team member to ensure you understand the process and responsibility. Based on that you can sign up for available pup shipments! Shipments are usually available on a biweekly basis. The foster period lasts three weeks in which during the time you will take care of them and provide them basic training plenty of love and hopefully find their perfect FUR-ever home and match them up with the best family to suit thier individual personalities. You also go online to fill out adoption forms! I picked up the puppies the day they came in transported them to my home gave them a quick bath since they had just come from the Place That Shall Not Be Named, fed them, provided them with puppy pads and multiple toys that the rescue provided me. They have since been dropped off this morning to get neutered free of cost to the foster or to the family. I chose to take in 2 siblings but you can also chose to just take in 1 pup or kitten. As A foster- my responsibility is to escort these puppies to the meet and greets with potential new owners - the rescue handles the coordination between people who applied online and email me directly phone number so that I can contact them. PLEASE sign up if you are able and love animals and want to make a difference. Often they are in NEED of fosters to be able to continue their good deeds!! They don't have their adoption even schedules posted but require you to say yes or no that you can make an adoption event. If you say yes but can't make the one they randomly pick for you without any communication, they charge you.

We paid in advance (booked on the site) and they charged us for a missed visit, would have been our second time there, rather than return a call or reschedule. We were at an emergency vet visit with one of our pets. There is no WAY you are too busy to call us back. ALSO, on our first visit we saw that they sold drinks in the lobby, but that you can't eat or drink among the cats. So it's really not as much a cat cafe as it is a kitten wonderland. The kittens are well cared for, the place is clean... the service is NOT great.

I found this organization when I was ready to adopt after the loss of a senior cat, and was mainly…read moredrawn in by being able to go in to meet the cats and by how close it was to my home. The people that work at this location were all wonderful and I greatly enjoyed speaking with them. They deserve endless praise. I put in a general application and followed up to ensure I didn't need to submit anything further, and was informed that I was approved and asked to come in to complete the process. I replied that I was making sure everything was in order and that I had a foster in the home until the end of the week (for sure leaving over the weekend) and would have space after that point. I asked a few follow up questions about a particular couple of cats that I was instructed to ask by the adoption counselors. My egregious mistake was either following up in less than 7 days, or it was that I had dared to foster with another organization. Based on the emails that would follow, it seems that it's unacceptable to contact any other adoption organization or to foster (even though there's no information on fostering through KSC?). So I was approved around March 9 and it's now the beginning of May and I've finally gotten them to say that I am being turned away, with no stated reason, after an initial approval. In the meantime, whomever was emailing me was incredibly rude for the sake of it. I asked for clarification about an ambiguous wording on dogs and was told that this cat's rule on dogs is clearly stated and that she must go home with another specific cat from the shelter. Unfortunately, the adoption counselors had also thought wording was ambiguous and told me to clarify. And they weren't aware of her messing to go home with a specific cat. In fact, they told me she'd been there years and clearly wanted me to take her. Unfortunate that this person would rather keep a cat for years in that tiny place than adopt out. Additionally, there were constant comments that were an obvious attempt to take a moral high ground but didn't make sense as a reply to an email, and it quickly became clear that they were trying to insult me and insinuate that I am not capable of caring for a cat. I inquired about one not yet medically cleared and they made comments about how "expensive" her condition could be. My resident cat was on the same ear drops and the combined household income is far above what is necessary to care for medication. Lol we both work in healthcare. The scrambling to find any reason to deny my application after having approved it was impressive. And unlike some other reviews, it seems that no one was able to dig up any even minimally negative information that could be used to deny my application after the fact. It's unfortunate that poor attitudes kept a cat or two out of a good home. If you read the other negative reviews, know that they're real. I had plenty of pleasant interactions until suddenly they weren't. You'd think I insulted them by contacting other organizations, or that a couple extra emails is actually a burden. They seem to not truly be about the cats at the top level.

We saw adorable five-month-old sisters on Petfinder, filled out an application, and King Street Cats got in touch quickly. We set up a time that worked for the foster family, went out to Alexandria, and waited in a small closet-like room for them to arrive. I think it's wise for shelters to have a place where you can interact with cats you're interested in. While we were there, they put two other kitties in the room with us, but they weren't interested in us. The two girls we were interested in, Jacintha (whom we renamed Lilah, which is Hebrew for night) and Zaneta (whom we renamed Harley, after Harley Quinn), were as friendly as the listing indicated, so we decided to go through with the adoption. Since we were already pre-approved, filling out the final paperwork and paying the adoption fee was quick and efficient. If you want to adopt a cat from (or any organization), I recommend filling out an application before going. KSC is an all-volunteer organization with a small shelter in Alexandria. They have set weekend times for seeing cats, or you can set an appointment. They were clearly busy caring for the cats at the shelter, so knowing what sort of cat you're looking for is wise. They also remind you to bring a carrier with you when you go to adopt. I recommend throwing a toy in the carrier to distract the cat during the drive home. The only thing I don't like is that KSC is the primary name on the microchip all cats who leave the shelter have. But the adoption was overall a good experience, and our kittens are very happy in their new home.

Brew is an "attention-starved" Airedale Terrier mix and Finn is a 13 lb spaniel fluffball who is incredibly timid around most people. I knew after we moved here from California, finding the right dog walker to look after them while my husband and I were at work for 12 hours a day would be challenging. In fact, I interviewed several dog walkers but Finley was afraid of all of them! When Jen came in for her home visit and Finn immediately came up and kissed her, I knew I had found someone really special. Over a year later (this review is long overdue), Jen has showed up on time every single day, rain or shine, and my puppies love her! I sometimes work from home and have witnessed how they greet her at the door with toys in their mouth to show her, or how she plays, pets, and teaches them new tricks, and I'm touched by her obvious love for my dogs. She has given us tips for how to help Finley gain confidence and has worked with both of our dogs on leash manners. Seriously, Jen is the absolute best. She leaves notes about her walks including whether they went potty -- I love coming home and laughing at her notes with funny anecdotes about the dogs! She's flexible to work with, has very competitive rates (I did a lot of research!), and has no nonsense about not taking the dogs for a walk during inclement weather (which I also came across). In her free time she also leads animal fundraisers for charity...we've been to one 2 years in a row now and it was great! Jen is a true animal lover and an amazing person. You should hire her ASAP!

A colleague recommended Jen's services, and I am thrilled that we were able to connect. Jen and I set up a time for her to come to our home and meet our pup. She asked a series of questions ranging from our puppy's personality, our training intentions, and medical records. We were able to set up a daily walking schedule - rain or shine. Jen leaves daily reports after the walk. Information might include where they walked, who they saw, unusual behavior, good behavior, encounters with other dogs, and "businesses" done. Because we have a puppy, Jen provided tips for training as well. Our puppy is very strong and stubborn, so this was extremely helpful! Jen is reliable and proactive. She had a vacation planned and arranged for a quality substitute walker. Like most of us right now during the COVID 19 stay at home orders, we are working from home. Clementine noticeably missed Jen! We look forward to hiring her back when we head back to work!

It's a super cute cat lounge in a busy shopping center in McLean. When you enter, you are greeted by the friendly staff who walk you through the lounge rules. It's a sunny space with a lot of good climbing and cozy areas for cat. The decor is colorful and cat-themed. There is a lot of seating and cat toys/ I appreciated that they offer complimentary drinks and snacks. At the time that I visited, they had 18 cats in residence. Their photos are all on the wall and all cats are available for adoption. Most of the cats are adults and all were very sweet. I was really in love with Richard and also Kayce The cats are friendly and seemed very comfortable in their space. At the time I visited, about half the cats were snoozing and half were active. The lounge staff obviously care about the cats and shared fun stories about each cat with lounge visitors. One suggestion: I already have 2 cats (both adopted from other cat lounges) so I cannot adopt another kitty right now, but I would be happy to contribute a care fund for the cats if there was an opportunity to do so. Maybe there could be an option for non-adopters to give $5/$10/$20 toward the general care of particular cats? I have observed that older cats tend to take longer to get adopted. I think other visitors may appreciate that option too. I'm looking forward to visiting again with friends. It's nice to be able to go to such a peaceful, relaxing and fun place that cares about the well-being of animals

Our cat treats given to us by staff were hard treats, but I noticed the group before us got churus because they left their trash out on the tables. I wish we had also gotten churus or at least half and half because that's how to really buy a cat's love. Maybe even just giving the kids churus so they could have cats come over. It didn't smell like cats or litter which is great.
