Unfortunately, surgery was necessary, but they were able to schedule it within 36 hours of the diagnosis. Considering how busy their office is, that felt like a huge relief and a win for us. This was an extremely stressful and emotional situation, but the staff was supportive, compassionate, and professional throughout. I'm so grateful to everyone who helped care for my baby during this difficult time. Highly recommend Dr. Smith's office!

This was a lot of work to finally get to the date that we would begin testing for my dogs cataracts to be removed. After meeting Dr. Smith I had good feelings about him and felt I could trust him in addition to his education. I really felt comfortable leaving my dog in his hands. I still prayed but I didn't have a single worry. Incredibly confident, confident and knowledgeable professional who took care of my pet so well I am really grateful. The dog has his sight back and he's doing very well seven days postop. Also got me on the surgery schedule a lot quicker than I expected we had to wait about 4 to 6 weeks which was way shorter than some of the other surgeons in the area. Best care ever hands-down! Really grateful for Dr. Smith and his team.

They foster them and provide needed medical care (One of the foster parents we spoke with was also a veterinarian, fostering and treating a beautiful black manx who'd contracted conjunctivitis). Then they try to find these animals permanent homes through Petfinder and adoption events at Petco. We visited one of Shingilana's foster homes in our search for Bartleby's successor. The lady was super nice; you could tell that her fosters were much-loved, well-groomed, and nicely socialized. A couple of them had been declawed by their previous owners, but they were still very sweet and trusting. They were also adorable: a gorgeous Himalayan, a sweet big-eyed Chartreux, a wonderfully friendly Norwegian Forest Cat, and of course that cute black Manx. I couldn't believe that these apparently purebred, perfectly adorable cats had been in high-kill shelters! So sad. In the end we decided to adopt from the Washington Humane Society, but we were impressed by the generosity and kindness shown by Shingilana's volunteers.

They have refused to let me adopt because I do not own another cat right now, so it won't have "company" even though we work at home and would take care of our cats no matter what! We were also turned down because we have a cat proofed deck outside and they do not believe that cats should ever go outdoors. They were rude, insensitive, and insulting. I have since visited many shelters who are more than willing to help us adopt a kitten. I think that they enjoy judging people more than they enjoy finding homes for abandoned kittens. I will never ever have anything to do with them again.

She provide me a free vet exam. I ended up wanting the 8 month old boy who was so friendly. I didn't know much about Maltese but they are absolutely lovable. Maltese like all dogs raised and trained well are so affectionate. I received a package of everything I needed to start of with. Most importantly, after my military discount, the free package of necessities, and the same day appointment, I had the breeder come out to show me how to keep my little boy as bright white and clean as when I received him. Each of the dogs I saw were bright white, well groomed, I reviewed the AKC, CKC purebred pedigree registrations, all vaccination and vet records were in order, I even asked about the cray to prove each Maltese had four to five puppies a litter. OMG, my breeder had everything available. Most of all, she when to college for and works in the veterina field. I was impressed. Also, I confirmed the champion sired dog and the champion bloodline. I WENT TO SIX BREEDERS AND DIDN'T GET ANY OF THESE SERVICES. I recommend PawshMaltese.com. She has started the few other breeders who follow her business set up. "This has never happened before" claimed Katherine. Unprofessional and unethical. Dog is a beautiful mix but the papers given to me by Katherine at adoption indicated a lab/miniature poodle and there is NO poodle in this dog! Breeder on papers indicate Amish. Again issue of morality with inaccurate papers. He had been re-homed/fostered several times by five months and that should have alerted me. Good natured and sweet but does not know when to stop whatever he is involved in, especially play with other dogs or children, is rough and extremely strong at 60 lb. According to a top/well known trainer in Potomac, "it is in the wiring" and he is not invited back to her facility. Fortunately, another excellent trainer is a family friend and does take him with the understanding that he stays with the humans rather than the other dogs, whom he tortures. Now I adore him, sharing my bed, and giving him Prozac twice a day plus CBD oil on particularly bad days. No dog parks for him though.

Hermoine had an abrasion on her back, which was getting worse, because she was licking it. Dr. Stotz was warm and welcoming. She has a great bedside manner with her patients. She communicates well with adults too and explained each step, as we went through the process. I really liked her. Hermoine got an antibiotic shot and some topical medication. The veterinary hospital is clean and full of pet decorations. They are in the process of adding more rooms. Healthcare is expensive, even for pets. But, as my mom would say," You get what you pay for." And, Hermoine was well taken care of. Thank you Dr. Stotz and the rest of the friendly staff at Kentland's Animal Hospital.

Our last three visits have been frustrating, but this final experience was the breaking point. I brought my Border Collie in with very specific, detailed instructions for a "pet trim" to improve her comfort and hygiene: Detailed scissoring and blending on the legs to avoid blunt, choppy cuts. Thinning shears to reduce density on her tail while maintaining the "flag" look. A "tunnel belly" and sanitary trim for cooling. Instead of the skilled scissor work I requested, they took the absolute "easy way out." They finished her entire grooming in 30 minutes (it usually takes an hour), and when I picked her up, she had been shaved to a 1/8th inch "puppy cut" all over. For a double-coated breed, this is devastating to their ability to regulate temperature. When I called to address this, they claimed I asked for an "all-over trim." In what world does a request for a blended, functional trim result in a total shave-down? To make matters worse, the staff member hung up on me, saying they were "really busy" and offered zero accommodation or apology for ignoring my instructions. It is incredibly disappointing to see a business treat a long-time customer with such blatant disregard. They clearly prioritize speed and high turnover over actual grooming technique and customer service. We will not be returning.
