Went to this store for a change to get Indian groceries. I was surprised to see the parking lot a bit crowded. Upon entering, there were a huge crowd with families and children as well. I wanted to get vegetables, but we went to a different aisle first since it looked cramped. We got groceries like dhal, cream of wheat, and others. It looked clean and organized. Once it got less crowded, we went to the vegetables area and got what we needed. However, I noticed some signs warning customers not to sample anything. Honestly, if kids want a small piece of fruit, go to Publix where some stores offer the kids to take a free fruit. The meats area was pretty nice and they had a good amount of chicken, beef, and lamb/goat pieces. They can get pretty pricey though. In fact, many groceries were quite expensive. That's why I avoided buying some of my favorite Indian dinners in the frozen food session. Even though the store looked clean and maintained, it looked pretty sterile. While there were some TVs showing Bollywood, there were no audio. Mostly families talking to each other and kids as well. And it looks like the kids can get rambunctious over there as there were signs warning parents to control their kids and the "you break, you buy" signs as well. Staff were friendly enough though. The store is in a building that also has a food court, and even a lighting store. There are even other restaurants located in the strip too. While I like Apna Bazaar for their meats (especially lamb), it's pretty pricey and mundane compared to other places. I think Patel Brothers and House of Spices provides a better experience at even lower prices. But at least you can get good meats and enjoy some non veg cuisine at the food court too. This is a no frills Indian grocery that has a little bit of everything. I come here to get bulk spices, and nuts at a better price. They have nice fresh pita and lavash. Like I said, it's no frills not really anything to write home about. They do have a food hall in the back and also a lighting store next to it. That's attached that has the most beautiful lamps. I haven't been to the food hall in many years so I can't really say much about that. read more

I had a great experience the first time I went. As I continued to go back I was unfortunately treated worse every time; extreme amount of disrespect and no patience for the customer at all. Good treatment is dependent upon how much money you spend. Unfortunately, the meat seems Overpriced compared to other similar markets. Some of the Male staff is rude to women. Great! You can get almost anything you want that is related to South Asian or Arab food. This is the most affordable grocery store in all of Central Florida and beats prices by a huge landslide. They can totally get away with charging much higher, like the other Halal stores nearby. Attached to this is a small food court in the back (don't forget to check it out), a few stores and a banquet hall to host events. This is the best spot to go to for anything unique, desserts, Halal meats, vegetable, spices, tea mix, cooking tools, etc. read more

This was our first time at this market and we will definitely be back again.   I love their selection of middle eastern cheeses and dairy products, they have a wide selection of frozen Indian food also.  Although, according to my mother-in-law who is half Indian, they don't have a lot of Indian spices, mostly Middle Eastern. I personally found the selection good.  I also loved their meats and the fact that you can ask them to prepare a meat to order.   I am a big tea person and found a whole aisle dedicated to tea.  I didn't know what to do with myself- I wanted to try them all.  But I settled on just two boxes of tea and a Turkish coffee for my husband.  They also had cubed sugar which I loved when I was a kid, so I had to get a box. Their fresh produce section was small in my opinion but they did have fresh herbs.   Additionally, they had a lot of incense burners and Islamic religious items, which might be interesting for muslims.   I can see this place becoming my "go-to" store for Middle Eastern dairy products and food, so we will be back. As far as the shopping center- the store across from Apna sells a lot of turkish lamps but they were very expensive and the customer service was not the best.Then there are some businesses in large cubicle-like offices and a women's clothing store with traditional dresses and selection of hijabs.   The food court looked disappointing.  There were 4 places open and the space was hot and uninviting.  We opted out of eating there. read more

We bought a few items and inquired as some food items had no expiration date on the outside of the package. Then we took a chance and bought a few items. My mom and I went to Apna Bazaar as we wanted to get some Indian food items. The store is quite spacious but it's definitely more geared to middle eastern brands. I couldn't find many items that would normally be found at Indian stores. The produce section was limited selection and I wish they kept that section a bit more cleaner. The positive is that the aisles are big enough that carts can easily move through. For Pakistani/Middle Eastern items, this store has it all but for more Indian brands, I will go to Patel Brothers. read more

I came to this place looking to grab a quick bite and ran into Apna Grill. Located at the back of the bazaar area, this Pakistani grill is amazing! I originally decided to get samosa chaat which was very flavorful but also tried their chicken boti with rice. The chicken boti had a lot of masala and was the perfect orange shade. Went there the other day.. The smell around the meat shop and the frozen dept was God awful. So left immediately. Please investigate. Think it has to do with not disposing off garbage(just a guess).. but definitely need to be addressed immediately. Also saw some olives in packages with fungus on it. Updated.. I've been shopping at Apna Bazaar for the three years I've been in Orlando and I keep coming back. I buy all my lamb here because they have the best prices in town Halal or no. You can't get the same quality at Publix and you'll pay more for it. I also buy all my spices and dry beans here because they have the best variety and huge bags for relatively nothing. I always like to shop the items like pots and pans, coffee/tea sets, perfumes and soaps as well. Don't forget to look at the frozen section where they have lots of Naan and Sambusas etc etc. There's another store that's similar called International Food Club, which I like as well, but nearly as much as this place. Apna almost always beats IFC's prices and IFC has no butcher! read more

One star. Ordering chicken story. Here is why. My family went there to order 4 whole chickens and to be cut up correctly. Obviously a big dinner plan at home with friends and family. We come back home and each packet is missing some part of the chicken. One packet is missing 2 legs. One packet is missing a breast piece. One packet is missing thigh pieces. 2 packets was missing wings...all four. What part of "whole chicken" is not clear? We went back and to store the next day to address the issue. In return we hear in response the "weight was charged accordingly"...correct but why are there no missing bones? Why do we have 6 neck pieces? The bones filled half the package. Whole chicken means give me the whole chicken! They were unwilling to correct their mistake and they gave the excuse then people don't like "the big chickens" and don't like large weight so the take out pieces. They obviously sell those as separate packs to mark up the value and sell "legs only" or "thighs only". Whole chicken means whole chicken. Friends - just check your meat ;) read more

A nice convenient supermarket for halal meat & all vegetables & fruit , fresh & frozen food is also provided . I like the spice section . They recently opened a food court with variety of Indian & Arabic food . The only down side is the shopping carts are a little old & need to be replaced . read more

They do not distribute hand-slaughtered meat, it's machine slaughtered, according to Safraz who is the owner. So we had to return the meat and felt a bit deceived by the halal marketing everywhere. APPNA bazaar in OBT is hand-cut, so go for there if you're strict on getting meat that is halal by all standards. A machine slaughtering doesn't feel halal to me. Still giving it an extra star as it does have other desi products available. read more

I have been this store several times over two decades. I constantly have short weight in my meat purchases from Apna. Two days ago, I ordered 40 pounds of beef and it weighed only 36 pounds at the register. I inquire with the cashier, the manager and the butcher, they all said this is normal and no other customer complains. They claim that they weigh the meat before cutting the fat out. I cut out an additional 5 pounds or more of fat when I got home. the butcher said, they would only make 20 cents a pound if they sell the whole 40 pounds for 40 pounds. Then,they brought out an additional 4 pounds of what they had cut out in the first place to supplement my shortage,which I had to pay extra for.I believe this is deceitful way of doing business. There was no information posted with their meat measuring policies. I will try my best to never return to Apna Bazaar for their unsatisfactory service and cheating ways. THe owner or manager claim they are very fair to customers that is why they stayed in business so long. I wonder what the laws of the FDA says and what our Sunnah says about honesty in weights and measures and business practices. As muslims, I think we do not speak up because we act on the sunnah to hide the fault of others, but the Quran says, Allah does not change the condition of a people unless they do it themselves. As a muslim entrepreneur myself, the customer comes first and is almost always right. In these times, muslims and their businesses need to be a good representation of Islam. Allah knows best, but I am not proud of this business and their management did everything to make me feel stupid. Bad customer service, expired/ spoiled products with no sense of responsibility. We ought $82 worth of groceries and a yogurt was spoiled when we opened the package. There was a thick layer of fungus on top. So we went back to the store and the guy said its only yogurt. Buy another one. we said no you should exchange it and he refused saying you opened it. Well we wouldn't know if we didn't open it. long story short the guy started saying if you report me or sue me then your children will suffer and all. This guy is a real joke.
