When I went to pick ip my equipment I did mot feel that the office was customer oriented or very friendly but got what I needed. The info was confusing because it gave instructions about a different machine and when I questioned it, the person told me oh don't pay any attention to that that's about another machine. But you had to sign off on everything. This isn't the staff's fault that someone needs to redo the instructions for the different machines. However, when I went back to get my CPAP machine, Barbara is the person that helped me learn how to use it and she was great! She was very patient and comforting because I felt somewhat overwhelmed and just made the experience much easier. sleep technician was vey rude and overwhelmed. managed to get sensors by midnight and then woke me up at 5 am. the sensors not properly placed needed to be adjusted after midnight. I was asked not to sleep inside the covers, was handed dirty sheets and pillows to sleep on. Room Was barely cool with no ability to control the temperature. whatever data this sleep study produces will not be useful. and they charge $2500. This is not a place that should be authorized to conduct any testing. read more

I strongly advise against using their services. If your payment is delayed by even a few months, they begin adding late fees. I typically wait to ensure the insurance has covered its portion before making my payment, but they don't allow enough time before charging late fees. I wish I had read the reviews before going to Apnix for my sleep study. Apnix charged me and still billed my insurance company. Despite multiple calls requesting a refund for the overpayment, I have not received any resolution. I paid $475.94 out of pocket before the study. When they billed my insurance company shortly after the study was completed, my deductible had been met, so my copay was much lower than what I paid. It has been almost two months, and I get a different story every time I call. Often, I am sent to voicemail and no one returns my calls. I sent an email yesterday to get information on the status of my refund. If I don't receive a response, my next step will be to contact the state to report this company for double billing. I will also reach out to my insurance company to ensure they are aware of this behavior. I will update this review with any further developments once I hear back from Apnix. read more

BEWARE! This business is dishonest and crooked. They overcharged me $485.00 and have refused to refund my money. I have been told it was credited back to my credit card, then it was sent to AP for processing and they would return my call with an update. It's now 1.5 months later and all they can say is they updated my account with a message to a manager. you get a different story everytime you call. its just a delay tactic. the sad part is, i discovered the overpayment and had to request it, they are not an honest enough business to return the money on their own. There are these mysterious managers that are not available to speak to, do not work in the building but they claim the Bellaire location is their corporate office. Shame on Blue Cross Blue Shield for using this vendor. Not to mention, the facility is crap, when i did my sleep study, the tv didn't work, there was no remote, the bed was slanted so bad to the left you rolled out of the bed. the technician told me that people complain about it all the time but nothings ever fixed. The company is slow to respond and difficult to reach. After updating information, they said they couldn't reach me. The email and cell had not changed. When I finally called them, I was told they'd see when new equipment would be available. The staff has been very helpful in finding the right CPAP equipment for me over 20 years of working with them. Wiwiek Tanugraha has been particularly helpful in arranging shipments of my equipment to me and helping me with choosing new masks as they have improved. I am on Medicare and have had no problems having covered procedures and equipment paid for by insurance. read more

Update from 5/26/22: My CPAP went out and I couldn't find one for sale anywhere due to supply chain issues, so I called TheCPAPShop. They worked with me very diligently to get a CPAP out on the same day. Those folks are very good and extremely customer-oriented. They accepted my sleep study results from 2016. I did not use their sleep study services at this location but used their services to reset the programming of a bipap device and to provide a reasonably priced back up device. Barbara seemed to be the lead tech and was fabulous. She was very patient oriented and practical. read more

Completed the at home sleep study & the body strap had such an overwhelming stinky perfume smell that it was a terrible night of sleep as the cheap fragrance was invading my nostrils the entire night (despite the strap being on my chest!). The awful smell gave me a headache. I wish Apnix had a rule that no perfume or cologne should be worn when completing the at home sleep study because other people have to use that same device & strap after you. It is my opinion that this company should really work on improving their communication, efficiency as well as transparency. They don't provide detailed itemized billing so you aren't able to see each line item & how much insurance covered. I got billed twice for the same date of service & all the line item said was "new visit" with no other details. I ended up playing phone tag with Apnix trying to get the duplicate bill resolved. I did speak with someone who said to disregard the duplicate bill but I don't have a lot of confidence that the matter has been truly resolved based on the subpar interactions I've had with Apnix. I was on hold for 20 minutes recently trying to get a quote on how much my resupply would cost. Never received a follow-up phone call so I sent a message through the patient portal & someone did respond the next day so that's probably how I'll communicate going forward. I got a quote but it was for the wrong item so here I am waiting for another followup. Patient portal doesn't list prices so if you want a price quote then you'll have to call someone to ask & cross your fingers that you'll receive a call back regarding the cost. I am honestly thinking of paying out of pocket for all my future resupplies because that's how much I want to avoid the frustration of dealing with this establishment. Who wants to call every month & be placed on hold for 20 minutes to ask for a quote & then the representative never calls you back? Or you do finally get a quote & it's for the wrong part & now you gotta wait again. I suggest you find another provider to perform your sleep study & another DME place to order your supplies because I feel like Apnix leaves a lot to be desired as far as customer service goes. read more

Environment was scary to me; however, the employees were nice enough. Community bathroom was filthy and no private bathroom available. TERRIBLE SERVICE. I don't know how these people stay in business. I actually requested that Village Medical remove this company from their referral list !! I am not a review guy, but I couldn't resist. Maybe I will help just one person on this journey. I am 44 years old and this has been one of the most frustrating process/experience and IT IS NOT OVER YET...SMH !! I have been trying to complete my sleep study and get a CPAP for over 3 months now. Apnix doesn't answer phone for scheduling and if you decide to wait, then get ready for 30 minutes to an hour. I have already had the in home study done and just received a call back......it is going to be another 1-2 months before they can schedule the IN LAB study....oh, if you don't know then yes, you do an in home, then you have to pay again to do an In Lab study. I am calling other study places. Apparently I can use their study and provide it to other companies. Fingers crossed I will find another company that can get me to the end of this process. The only thing they contact me by phone is when my monthly payment does not go thru, round $80 and I have a corporate Policy. Why they put me thru this lowest of low service is just as cold as the Apnix service it's self. I am have a problem with the machine not work as it did at first in Aug 2023. Waking me up around 3 am, They will see me 10 weeks later. IF YOU have to use this group as I do. PLEASE get blood pressure monitoring as I have. They just check it over the phone and say it's fine. I can't feel any air coming out. I have requested a new sleep study from my doctor and I won't be going back to apnix. xMy doctor referred  me to APNIX, the Houston sleep center to obtain the CPAP equipment.  In March  2019 APNIX  at the Bellaire location  charged my credit card in the amount of $291.69.  Later I received the Explanation of Benefits from the insurance company stating  that I was responsible  only for $52.69. I approached the company asking to refund the money I was significantly overcharged by APNIX In the amount of $250. I did tell at that time that I will pay only what is defined by my insurance company as my responsibility. I was told it requirred corporate approval.  A week later and more than dozen calls I was told the refund was approved and I had to return the device, which I did on June 16, 2019. It has been more than a month since, but I have not received my money back.  However,I received a billing statement from the company that incuded the late fees and threats to forward my accont to collection agency  and file with  credit bureau for failure to pay. How  pafetic it is!  For months APNIX holds my money illegaly and sends me  nasty letters and theatens to ruin my credit. Unfortunately,  this is not the only negative issue that I experienced during my interactions with APNIX. The company was supposed to provide  support services while using their equipment.  On several occasions I reached out for help when I was not getting the adequate services.  APNIX was rude to me and my husband  when we contacted Barbara for help as my apnea was actualy getting worse  while using their  equipment. I was pushed back very  unprofessionally that they did not have time to deal with the issues and I should to go to other providers. I am a person with disabilities, and being treated like that is especially hurtful.  I hope this review will help others avoid unnecessary aggravation and loss of time and money. read more

I received a Cpap machine from this location but cannot get my sleep machine replacement parts ordered in a timely manner. Representatives do not return calls or even acknowledge that you confirmed a refill order online or via automated telephone inquiries that Apnix Sleep Diagnostics initiates. I informed me insurance of this and that the establishment charges me for shipping. The 3rd party provider that works with my insurance for these part orders were livid. Instructed me to have my doctor change my prescription to them directly because of lack of attentiveness (since you already sold me the machine) and charging for shipping. I immediately called my doctors nurse to change from this cat and mouse game for sleep equipment. Shame on you Apnix Sleep Diagnostics. No longer loyal over here. read more

Insist that your doctor refer you to another provider. Apnix is HORRIBLE. I started the process late May and will finally get my machine in September. I had to prod these guys along during the whole process from insurance approvals, sending reports to the doctor, setting up appointments. Nobody could do their jobs without me getting them to do it. No concept of customer service on their part whatsoever. Final straw was they tried to sell me and old machine on a monthly plan saying it retailed for $1200. Do your self a favor and buy a machine online...they are newer better machines for $500. Such a scam. read more

Horrible customer service!!!! If you can order your supplies from another source, absolutely do so!!!!!! Each month I get an automated call to renew my CPAP supplies and I always check Indicate I would like to receive supplies. Inevitably, I still get a call from an agent, which I order sleep supplies AGAIN. They repeatedly call me and ask me if I want sleep supplies, but I rarely if ever received them. I don't know if they're billing my insurance or not. Whoever is running the customer service department should be fired on the spot! I have not had sleep supplies in months and my mask is running ragged. Poor customer service, and poor management. STAY AWAY! They are a crooked provider. There appears to be a trend with Apnix where they tell you that your payment is due upfront to then turn around and bill your insurance and never tell you. I too am owed roughly $488 out of a previous $976 for two different visits in March and May. It is now 9/27/24 and still waiting on my last $488. I have been told over a dozen times a supervisor, manager, and even the owner was going to call me back and never received a call back. They refuse to pick up, hang up on you, and will continue to delay your refund. They didn't even tell me I was owed a refund. I found out 6 months after my initial testing when I called my insurance to check my deductible. They even tried to claim they never received the reimbursement from my insurance. I had to do a 4 way call with Apnix, my care coordinator, myself, and insurance to get them to admit they had received funds. They will lie and avoid you to not refund you money. I am going to likely have to have a lawyer get involved and contact KHOU to investigate them. read more

APNIX should be avoided at all costs. They are in a complete state of disarray, and their billing department is totally dishonest. They quoted me a purchase/rental cost based on their agreement with my insurance carrier, and was explicitly stated in my signed delivery ticket. They later changed these rental costs over 500%, and blamed it on the insurance carrier. Once they have you in their grasp, the only way to get out of this is to surrender the unit I have already paid $350 for. This is bait-and-switch. Use another company for any CPAP machines and supplies. read more

I've been trying to get the replacement mask that I'm eligible for since August... it's almost Christmas. Ordering supplies from Apnix is a horrible experience. The automated reordering calls don't specify what mask design you're ordering parts for, so if you've tried multiple designs, you can't be sure what mask you're getting replacement parts for. When you call them to order parts with a person, no one ever answers the phone for that department. There is no call queue function, but there is a voicemail box. You can expect a callback sometime within the next few weeks. If you can't answer the call (because they come between 8-5, when most folks are working too), then you get to call back, leave a message, and start the wait for a call back over. When you are able to speak to a person, the experience is meh (I don't blame folks answering the phones for the dysfunction of this department, I blame the people running it). I've received tons of conflicting information and I've been told things were ordered that were not. It's improved recently, but before four or so months ago, it was really not good. There is no online option other than to request a call. And one more thing that really irked me as a big-nosed lady... When I had my first set-up appointment they gave me a small sized nasal pillow only, which they picked out for me sight-unseen. I didn't know any better, so I went with it... Then once I was able to order my first replacement mask, I discovered that they generally come with a variety of nasal pillow sizes. I don't know what happened to the ones that came with my original mask. I don't know what limitations Apnix is mandated from insurance companies in terms of how they can accept orders for replacement parts, but I can't imagine that they're stuck with this antiquated system. read more

It turns out they sent the prescription information to an out of network provider, and I was never informed. My wife did an at-home sleep study and we obtained the equipment and essential training from Gabriella at this facility. The equipment was clean and the mask new. Gabby gave us thorough training including how to set the equipment (a small box) up, how to fit the mask, and how to proceed with the study. It was all very simple. Gabby is a very personable young lady who knows her stuff. She fully answered all of our questions and gave us her cell number to call anytime if we should have any concerns with the sleep study. Our wait time in reception was short and the receptionist was friendly. We also appreciated that the office/clinic was clean and well kept. 5 Stars all around! read more
