Great locally owned consignment store. The interior is familiar however spruced up and easier to navigate through. Well organized and labeled offerings throughout including outerwear, footwear, jewelry and more. Coupons can be found in local university coupon booklets scattered around town. Selling is convenient and quick tho call ahead before heading in. Consider shopping local and sustainably this holiday season. We came in to browse this large thrift store. The layout is nothing fancy - just a large open space that runs unusually deep/back with dozens of carousels, each packed with hanging articles. They are organized as one might expect - by gender, season, size. And, as one might expect, there are a fair number of items on the wrong carousels, more than likely by a lazy patron quickly unburdening their hand as they change their mind about something. Unlike most other secondhand stores, this one has a substantial mix of mens items too. I was surprised to find a couple of unique, lightweight sweaters.... and they happened to be 25% off too. On this wknd afternoon the place was busy. There are 4-5 dressing "rooms" (standup spots with curtains that you draw completely around you - kinda nifty if maybe a little vulnerable feeling but I didn't mind). There was often a short line for a dressing room but people tended to move quickly - maybe because of those surround curtains that don't reach all the way to the floor, Lol. Checkout was easy and if I recall, returns are accepted, with receipt, tags, within 7 days, and then only for store credit. Aside: One thing that impressed me also is how the owner/mgr, consistently, and seemingly sincerely, responds to the harshest reviews here. I did observe that most of the negatives centered around sellers... probably something to be expected in this inherently subjective and fickle business. read more

My family and I visited this store the day after Christmas, looking forward to some post-holiday shopping. However, what should have been a pleasant experience quickly turned into an uncomfortable one. As we walked in, I suddenly heard yelling. At first, I couldn't make out what it was, so I kept walking. Then, I heard it again--this time, multiple voices yelling that I couldn't bring a drink into the store. It wasn't clear at first that the yelling was directed at me, but when I realized, I immediately turned around and placed my coffee on their designated drink tower. While I completely understand and respect their policy, the way it was enforced was shocking and unacceptable. This is almost 2025, and the in-store shopping experience should be about hospitality and customer service. A simple, polite request would have sufficed. What's even more disappointing is that there wasn't even a friendly greeting to offset the situation. No "Hello," no "Welcome in," nothing. It's clear that the staff needs proper training on how to communicate respectfully with customers, and the owner and manager needs to reevaluate the store's approach to customer service. If enforcing a policy like this is so important, the team should find a different approach--one rooted in respect and customer care. The staff and management need serious training and better knowledge to understand what customers expect from a brick-and-mortar shopping experience. This encounter was enough to guarantee I won't be returning. Shopping in-store is supposed to feel special. read more

Fan friggin tastic! Of the 4 thrift stores we went to while we were in Colorado on vacation this was our favorite! How could people not be reviewing this already? We went on a Thursday evening and it was busy. I found a great date night Five Four jacket, a midnight blue heavy corduroy jacket, a polo shirt, a linen patterned shirt and some wool grey trousers. The customer service was excellent. They looked out for my partner when a 2 piece didn't quite fit perfectly. They even recommended a couple of other thrift stores for us to go to and those turned out well too. read more

If you are looking to get the correct amount of money for your clothes I would definitely not recommend going here! I gave them $200 worth of clothes and they only gave me $50. Everything is way too overpriced and not even worth it (or in style) the people by the dressing rooms were really nice but the woman upfront named Madison I believe is really not a good manager if that's what she supposed to be! Really cute options and friendly staff but was disappointed by how sizing was organized/labled. Size 8 jeans were in the XL section, none of the "XL" labled dresses fit me and Im typically a Medium/Large. I was originally excited to see more size inclusive options at a Boulder store but my shopping ended with me getting teary in the dressing room because NONE of the 8 pieces of clothes I picked fit me, turns out they were all labeled incorrectly :( If you're a XS/S girly, this is your place! Not a good place to sell your clothes. I brought in two large bags of clean items. They bought half. Okay, but for one large bag at 30% of the value they said they would sell them at I got $7.80. (They didnt even round up to $8.) Now, this means for an entire bag of maybe 15 items, including a nice coat, shirts, pants, (no t-shirts), they expect the resale value total to be only $24. When was the last time you went to a thrift store and got a dozen or more nice items at once for only $24? I rest my case. You will see below that Lacy claims only 2 items were taken to sell. I brought in two bags and only one was returned so this is quite simply not true. There was no way to respond in public other than to edit my comment as I am now doing. I really want everyone to see this false narrative. I recommend not selling here. However, if you do, don't trust them as I did. Accept their offer to itemize each piece they have bought. read more

I'm so excited that I found this store! They have a large selection of items, sizes, and styles to choose from. The prices ranged from $5 tees to ~$100 coats. It was great to find cool basics that weren't super expensive. This will be a regular stop for me from now on. read more

I was recommended this place by a friend and I was impressed! They have probably one of the largest and best 2nd hand clothing selection in Boulder. Their prices are pretty fair, not goodwill cheap but not brand new expensive. The place is so aesthetic and they play great music! All of the staff I've met have been super friendly and helpful. I feel like I always leave there buying at least one thing that I don't need haha! read more

I love going to apocalypse for unique vintage clothes here in Boulder. I find other thrift stores around town don't have a very unique or vintage selection, but apocalypse curates there clothes so they have the most colorful, unique, fun, and in good shape clothes. I got a super thick' very unique hoodie from here recently that is my new favorite. Highly recommend and definitely worth poking around, each rack is bound to have plenty of stuff you like, it's always hard to narrow down. The people are friendly and represent the store well, always happy to help and had a really quick check out, great store. read more

There will never be a time when I don't stop off at Apocalypse when I am on Pearl Street. They have the greatest vintage clothing and very fair pricing for what we are receiving. Most stuff is below $60 that some people would resell for hundreds. They have a wide variety of accessories as well: sunglasses, rings, belts, and even some fancy hats. Last time I went, I was trying on some clothes and the woman at the dressing rooms were very kind and patient with me with all the items I had. And not only is Apocalypse good for buying some good fits and dressing like you're from the 80s, but it is also an amazing place for a DIY Halloween costume. I recommend Apocalypse to anyone and everyone who is coming in and out of the Boulder area!!! read more

One of the first times I went out on the town to Pearl Street was to see if this store was as great as people were saying about it. I love me a great vintage clothing store so I was very excited to walk into Apocalypse! All of the staff is so sweet and outgoing and just totally make your day a little brighter. They sometimes even dress up in themes and make you guess what they are from! There is a great assortment of clothing for men and woman and you can find some very one of a kind items! read more

This place was completely different each employee was incredibly kind and willing to show me anything I was looking for. I have been going to this store for a long time... before apocalypse existed and it was a buffalo exchange. The store definitely has some great finds, but I will say this locations employees are not always the friendliest. Almost every time I come in, I'm met with some pretty rude people. Listen, I get you might not love your job... we all have been there, but rule of thumb, don't be a dick to customers that are trying to have a good experience thrifting. Not sure if it's the manager or the lady under her with long hair, but she gives off "not happy with life and people" vibes that aren't pleasant to be around. If they're rude to the customers, I can only imagine the work environment between employees. Aside from manners, I would really recommend not selling your clothes there if you're trying to make actual money... they will quite literally rob you in front of your eyes and get upset at YOU when you don't agree with the price. I used to love this store, but boy oh boy do they need to make some upper management changes. read more
