We purchased a conure from Apollo's several months ago. Initially I was rather pleased with the store--lots of un-caged, seemingly happy birds out on their perches. Lots of moths flying around from the food, though. We continued to purchase supplies and food from Apollo's, but often noticed that the owner was, at best, disinterested. The whole shop is just sort of slapdash, and it always seemed that any questions were met with a healthy dose of apathy. Recently, we scheduled a week in advance to board our conure for a long weekend while we were out of town. We arrived to drop our conure off at 10am right when the store was supposed to open. SUPPOSED to open. After 45 minutes of sitting in the parking lot, repeatedly calling, and staring at the shuttered windows and locked door, we left and made other last minute arrangements, though we were still an hour late getting to the airport. Once we finally got in touch with the store to cancel the boarding reservation, we were met with an aloof apology and a muttered excuse about being 'stuck in traffic' with no offer to make it right. We had also planned to groom our bird during his stay. Since the stay didn't work out, we asked if we could bring him in the following Monday for nails and a wing-clipping. Nope. Again, an apathetic reply that grooming could only be done on Saturdays, and click went the phone. Today, we decided to try Wings of the World in Bothell for a grooming. What a gem of a store. Not only was grooming complimentary, but we learned more about our bird in 20 minutes there than we did from multiple visits to Apollo's. The shop and staff were amazing, eager to help, and genuinely love all things bird-related. Good luck to you, Apollo's. We won't darken your door again. read more

I've been here twice with my birds. The first time was with a family members Macaw to have his beak, nails and wings done. The second time was with my conure for the same thing. I found the birds living here to be in great condition. The store itself is a bit messy, but it looks like the owner is working on it. The Mother and daughter that own/work here are very nice and knowledgeable about everything bird. Tips: They only charge 5 dollars for small birds and 15 for large birds when doing nails, beak and wing trims....way cheaper than the vet and she does a great job. The food and toys are priced fairly and so are the birds for sale. They prefer cash and will give a discount if you use cash instead of debit/credit cards. Beware! If you don't have previous bird experience...Don't touch the birds! The owner told me which birds were "nice" and the first time I was in there I got bit by a "baby" cockatoo...he was NOT NICE! The second time I was told a goffin cockatoo was nice (he looked perfectly sweet) and the little turd jumped on my head, laughed and proceeded to attack me. The owner stood 10 feet away and either chose to ignore the fact that I was fighting for my head back or she was just oblivious to the attack that was happening right in front of her. I managed to up the viscous little attacker and get him back on his cage, but I left with my hair all disarray and my fingers bleeding. Lesson learned! read more

This place is great! They have more birds out in the store than anyother place Ive seen. They have GREAT prices on toys, food and birds! One of the best bird stores I've been to! The birds are all very well trained and seem very happy and healthy! I'm very impressed!! The people are very friendly and helpful! I will only buy from this place from now on!! Feel blessed to have been a loyal customer of Bunni's. She was so incredibly knowledgeable, helpful and kind. She was a God send when we adopted our Grey, (Lola). She offered advice, tips and tricks and was so helpful. She has a great array of food, snacks, treats, cages, toys and every bird product you didn't know you needed. She regularly groomed our girl and made life with a Grey enjoyable! We made the trek from Gold Bar to Everett at least once a month. And it was completely worth it!! We moved out of the area a year ago and haven't been able to find a place that comes anywhere close to the caliber of store, or people that Bunni is. We miss you and your store Bunni!! read more

Went here on a Friday at 2:30 and hours are posted until 6:00. My wife and I told the owner we were looking for a Cockatiel. She said she didn't have one and that she was planning on closing early, so..... We took the hint and left as she was no longer providing any additional help. The store is untidy and animals poorly kept. There is a fantastic family bakery next door where the girl at the front was a sweetheart offering free cookies. So not a total loss. read more

I am surprised to see so many horrible reviews online for this place, as my experience was just fine. My girlfriend and I purchased a 2 year old Electus parrot from here a while ago and I felt the owner was knowledgable, her price was fair (I did my research), and the bird (Emma) we got is just awesome. Sweet, tame and talkative. The owner does have a more hardcore/confrontational way of communicating with you and I suppose some people are taking that as rude or offensive or what have you (looking at the other reviews) but the fact is she is right, and wether or not you want to like her personally she knows what she's talking about and the birds get taken care of very well. I've been coming to this store for years and love it. People need to understand the Bunni is the sole employee/owner. This isn't Petco. She does have things come up occasionally that may require hours to change without notice. I've been to the other parrot stores and I can tell you, Bunni has very high health standards for her birds. Better than the store in Bothell for sure. I also bought an eclectus from Bunni and he is sweet and healthy and the light of my life. If "Harry's" eclectus died after 10 months, it stands to reason something in the bird's home environment was off. Diet, cage, something. You don't get to blame the shop that sold you a bird after nearly a year of the animal being in your care. "Harry" also took the bird to an avian vet known in the community for over medicating birds (medication = profit after all). I love this store and recommend it highly. This store isn't horrible it is just small, very disorganized, and depends on the day super messy or somewhat clean. I use to come here a lot but the owner seemed to never knowledge me or remember me, not that I am saying she should but I can here a lot, at least one every other week. Her prices on birds are very fair but they always have split feathers. It is true about the birds in the stands. Don't touch them! She charges really low for grooming so that's cool just it's only on Saturdays. I think her hours are weird and I had a really hard time going. Parking can be hard. I resently went to wings of the world and it is far better. It isn't a 3 star, it's about 2.5. read more

I personally find this store to be a disorganized mess. The lady who owns the shop is polite but very disorganized and is not good at multitasking. We bought a bird from this store and was healthy and there were no issues there and at least she has a one year health guarantee on her baby birds. I found the selection of toys and food to be inadequate and the store is cramped and not sure I feel that the birds should all be on perches when there being boarded. I felt the store was super noisy and was so confused on which birds were for sale and felt to interact with the birds was rather difficult except for the baby ones. Though her prices are reasonable for her babies and overall i am satisfied with the store just needs some improvement. Personally I enjoy Wings of the World more in Bothell. read more

My trouble with Apollo's started a few weeks ago on a trip to Everett for some millet. We figured Apollo's was the place to go since Birds seemed to be the specialty. Unfortunately, and despite their advertised hours, Apollo's was closed. We decided to give them a break and return another day. That day came today. Maybe there is another employee who makes this place pleasant, however the one in which I encountered made me and my husband almost walk out within 30 seconds of walking in. I'm not sure if this was the owner, but for the sake of business, I certainly hope not. I'm all for employees and owners who can answer your questions, but answering your questions with either an "I don't know" or an obvious answer to a totally different question makes me question their listening / understanding capabilities and her loud arrogance suggests that there are two ways. The wrong way, and her way. A trait typical in breeders. Another thing I found very odd were the signs that birds naturally bite. Actually, Birds not properly trained and socialized will naturally bite out of fear and mistrust. Almost any bird with clipped wings and a steady supply of food and water will sit on a pirch for hours at a time. This does not make them tame. More to my surprise, They were not her birds??? I know she does boarding, but why is she putting birds she knows nothing about in the middle of the store. It was like an obstacle course of large hooks lunging at you as you try and decide which toy you should bring home to your own bird. There must be somewhere in that store she can keep at least a few of those birds... Actually, there is. In the corner was a huge enclosure that, unlike the other side, was completely empty of birds. But instead, you remain as close to the products hanging from the walls as you can get. Is this some new marketing technique??? Well, she needs it. I will say that the website is good. Maybe this lady should think about just doing website sales. However, the only positive thing about this store was the work they have done for Zazu's House Parrot Sanctuary. But I do question the motive behind this. This woman was a self proclaimed breeder, so I'm guessing it has something to do with advertising like Pet Smart and their adoptions through the store or how most pet stores are calling it adopting as opposed to purchasing. It's about image and doesn't seem to be much more. This store was not spectacular or stood out an any way, except that it was right next to Brooklyn Brothers Pizza, (YUM!!!) And the whole experience was uncomfortable, overwhelming, confusing, and almost unbearable. Thank you Apollo's for the worst pet store moments of my life. Never will you see me again. I'll stick to the stores who are honest about not knowing anything. PS- After talking with the friend who suggested Apollo's, she had told me that when she went there for a quick in and out visit, it was after the store was supposed to have been open for an hour and it took about another hour for it to be open to let her in. Other than that, she was pleased with the item in which she walked out with. Maybe Apollo's should take customer service a bit more seriously??? read more

I have been a customer of Apollo's Bird Store since shortly after it opened aproximately 4 years ago. Over that period of time I have had the opportunity to get to know the owner and her dedication to parrots. Her store provides a great selection of items--food, toys, etc. and she will research and special order an item if a customer requests it. She is very knowledgeable on parrot care and behavior and hand raises wonderful baby birds. She provides grooming at a very reasonable price with a job very well done. I highly recommend the store to anyone desiring a full service bird store that is not of the 'chain-store" mind set. read more

I love this store! If you are a bird person you cannot help but enjoy seeing all of the parrots out on tree stands. The owner is very watchful and will let you know which birds are friendly and which birds aren't. You can find many different types of birds here depending on when you visit, including birds that are on consignment being re-homed. I love the baby bird room, you can go in and actually sit with all of the babies and interact with them. There is a fabulous selection of toys and food and plenty of practical advice to be had for any behavior issues. I would work at Apollo's for free if I didn't need to feed myself. I go back with Apollo aprox 5 years. In that time I have bought premium foods, toys and grooming as well as boarding. I have dealt with the bad parking situation. Its great now considering the parking on Hewitt in the past with the Comcast event center across the street. I have dealt with the occasional closure when she was supposed to be open. I have dealt with the craziness in the store ( people wanting to just see the birds with theyre kids) and I could get no attention when I wanted to talk bird issues. I have been to Wings of the world 3 times.I was immediately put off by Malcom the owner when I questioned colors on a moluccan he had for sale. Rather then explain it to me, he chastised me for "Not knowing my moluccans there fore not knowing much about birds" whatever. The second time, (Yeah! I went back even, everyone has an off day) to buy a bird stand.. The customer in line with me commented on his unnecessary handling of the bird to which I agreed. I only went back a third time as he had buckets of a particular food that I could not find elsewhere. I was never happy to see how the birds in the back room seemed to be crammed in cages that didn't seem adequate..made me sad. Ill never go back. I have never been attacked by an Apollo bird albeit FOR SALE or BOARDING because I have enough common sense to know that parrots are exotic animals and reaching out could possibly bring unwanted attention. I Have been in the store and seen the owner politely ask someone NOT to bring theyre untested bird in due to possible harm if the bird carried possible disease. Bottam line is, I openly admit that when I brought home my baby Umbrella Cockatoo over 10 years ago, I had no Idea of the commitment. When I inadvertently found myself in a Parrot rescue situation for 3 years, I could not have done it with out Apollos help.We can NOT all Be a ray of sunshine, a Perfect store owner, the ultimate Goddess of cleanliness! ( By the way, Anyone who has birds knows the issues with Moths and foods in the store, in the home..) We by all accounts are not perfect customers and I for one WOULD NOT WANT her job, I think she does a great job considering the obligation involved. I have been going to Apollo's for about seven years. We purchased Rocky a large cockatoo from them. He is a beautiful and healthy bird with a great disposition, but we started having extreme squaking problems with him. I called Bunny the owner of Apollo's and she knew exactly what to do and it started working the first day. I would recommend Bunny's store to anyone who loves their parrots. The store is small but I've never seen it anything but clean with lots of beautiful birds sitting out openly on perches. If you know birds you know how hard it is to keep anything clean and tidy around them! I will even board both of my parrots there because I trust that they will be cared for lovingly. read more

I became a customer of Apollos before it moved to it's new Broadway Location. It was on Hewitt Ave in Everett if Anyone can't find it now...Just saying...I have been boarding my Catalina Macaw and Red Lored Amazon there for over 3 years now.They love to visit the other birds when I have to be away from them. They get great care and often don't want to come home.I buy all my Bulk food at toys as well from Apollos as they have a HUGE selection of both and for much better prices than the BIG BOX Pet stores. The Owner Bunni is very Knowledgeable and will order anything in for you if its not available.. The daughter does nails beak and wing trimming on Saturdays by appointment however I have dropped in and she was always still able to fit my babies in with a minimal wait... I bought an Eclectus parrot at this store and within two weeks I took him to an avian vet and discovered he had an E.Coli infection and had to give him medication. Another oddity for our parrot was when he was still being weaned at the store, he was stuck in a fish tank with a Macaw parrot which was practically climbing on top of him. Our parrot died 10 months after we purchased him, and after spending $400 at another vet, the cause was never determined. The store has a 1-year guarantee that if the bird dies from natural causes, then they would replace it, however I did not do my own diligence to read the fine print that you have to take the bird's carcass to a vet of the store's choice and even if I did, I think the outcome of the "report" would be obvious. Don't buy into the "1-year guarantee" this store tells you, you are ultimately responsible to pay for the necropsy report costs, you might as well spend that money at another bird breeder/store which sells a healthy and well taken care of bird. This is just my own experience with this store that I'm sharing and I'm sure that there are many happy customers who have purchased a parrot from this store. Doing some research on stores and breeders is never a bad thing. read more

I guess business is still business. Not so sure about they truly have real interest in the birds' welfare. The store, generally speaking, is great. Lots of exotic birds. Friendly owner. Just got one recently. Able to get a comparable price for a cage. Unfortunately, the cage was delivered to the store without being checked wheter the parts were in good shape. I would think that was the store's responsibility to sell their customer good qaulity product instead of for customer to take care of how to get the parts from the manufacturer. The bird has to stay in the smaller, temporary cage longer. Poor bird. Not quite sure the store owner cares about it or not. Or business is business. when it is sold, it is your problem? read more

This is a small local business run by one amazing woman who will go above and beyond for true bird companions. terrible service, my bird was bleeding and she didnt want it in the store. she said she was out of quikstop and she only had one bottle left that she couldnt share. i had to drive to wings of the world for them to take care of her and they sold me some quikstop. i have a bleeding bird that just hit the ground and broke a blood feather while we were out and apollo was the closest. "To bend over backwords for a customer and his bird" u need to care about ppl too not just the birds that you have. i will never go to apollos again, even though ive purchased numerous birds from bunny, i wasn't a complete stranger but she made it clear she just wants to sell her birds and doesnt care about the ones shes' sold previously. read more
