He would meet us half way to do our taxes on occasion when our daughter was an infant. Always a word of good advice and I'm sure he didn't charge me enough for his services. Charlie will be missed but Steve certainly "picked up the mantle." Steve is very approachable and is willing to listen to what you have to say. Don't let his mild laid back manner and occasional stocking feet fool you. He's on the ball and knows what he is doing. Steve even came to our house once to do the taxes; chip off the old block. This guy is the worst. He filed taxes for my husband and I in 2015 & failed to report half our…read moreincome. We got a letter from the IRS a year later and have been paying back taxes ever since. When we confronted him with the error, he did refile for us, but no refund for his (very costly) services was ever offered. Just yesterday, we received a letter from the state tax board stating the we also underreported to them for the same year. So even though Venuti refiled our federal taxes to ameliorate his error, he ignored the state returns. Was it ultimately our responsibility to double check our returns? Of course. But who would imagine that a CPA could be so totally incompetent as to make such a huge, glaring error? When we took all our paperwork to a new CPA, we were informed that Venuti took some rather unusual deductions that would cost us more in the long run. Speaking of which, that's what you should do instead of using this guy: RUN.
