I went to this store, as it showed up in a Yelp Search. I got there close to noon and waited for the shop to open. Once it was open, I started my browse. With two people working, not one offered help while we were browsing. I was looking for a particular tea & 10 min of searching, I found it. No one has offered help at this point. So I went to the station to bag up tea for purchase. There are no signs saying you can't bag or to ask for help.. anywhere. The lady rudely came over and informed me due to Covid I can't bag my own tea. I was so embarrassed. She was so loud and rude, people in the store just looked and starred, as if I stole something. I wanted a steeper and before the associate spoke to me, I was going to buy a steeper cup. After she informed me I can't bag my own tea, I quickly checked out. I understand Covid restrictions, but if you don't want people to bag their own tea, pre package some, or better yet.. make a sign. read more

First time in! Ive worked at an family medical apothecary for 3 years- have my own business now. Drove an hour to venture around this little shop. I was curious about this place, looking to spend my money locally.. Feedback: I was welcomed but not asked if I had been in before just "let me know if you need anything"... if I did not need something I would not have walked in. I came in for some bulk oil, rose essential oil, a list of other items...I had several hundred dollars to spend on oils and herbs and would rather buy local than online. I was steered away from buying the oil I came in for with this, "thats pretty expensive you might want to look at the price before you decide to pour some"...hmm okay. I blew it off, thanks for letting me know but after that I immediately felt like I was singled out and judged for not being part of the regulars? The vibe was just unpleasant and I did not feel welcomed. Hope this place has more gratitude for the local residents, especially those that are new to the store. This is one of those shops that is super more than meets the eye. It's obviously a Healing Place. They have stacks and stacks of herbs that you can buy in bulk or a little bit at a time. Hence the 'apothecary' part. They also make extracts and formulas locally (in the owners kitchen, perhaps?). Hence the 'tinctura' part (I believe that 'tinctura' refers to the bottle's TINT that holds all of those medicinal potions!) There are beautifully packaged soaps, candles, skincare lines, bath bombs, and gifts for your mom or your best friend. They carry a line of baby booties and baby carriers that are cute and chic (but a little on the high side.) This magical place also has a host of 'community classes', they host healing retreats (such as 'women's painting') and they have interesting health options such as 'therapeutic massage' among other things. And it's all wrapped in a sunny, delightful atmosphere on 6th Street in the Cherry Creek area, close to Colorado Boulevard. read more

I got a Deep Tissue Hot Stone Massage here, and it was unlike anything I have ever done for my body before. This was a breakthrough for a control freak who ignores her body most of the time. I was given a gift certificate by my saintly mom, and walked in a ruin after a huge work project was over. Like, almost limping with exhaustion. Marion (she is AMAZING, and the masseuse for the store employees) took me in and fixed old pains in my back that I didn't even know were still around. I was looking for something that would make me absolutely drool, a massage that actually worked out the knots in my knot-layered shoulders and back, and Marion took off on my sore spots like a heroine. Her hands seemed to know where the pain was, while simultaneously working over the areas that didn't hurt but needed tending. I expected the hot stones to be placed around my body for relaxation purposes, but she actually USED them to massage out my legs and arms and back, and it was a religious experience. If you are someone who ignores their body, pushes themselves to the limits without mercy, forgets to eat- please, just go here once. It will give you an awareness of your body and its tender beauty that will last long after you leave this place. GO HERE. SPEND MONEY. The women who work here are something special. PS. Was not impressed by it, but maybe the person i had. This is a wonderful store, which is dangerous because it is somewhat pricey (hence docking one star). A lot of herbal/aromatherapy/tea stores are either pretentious or overly hippie, but Apothecary doesn't have that vibe at all. Smells wonderful and has more of a spa feel than expected. It is great for gifts or stocking up for yourself, and the staff was incredibly nice and helpful. It seems like all oils, herbal supplements, organic candles, etc. are always somewhat expensive, but I really noticed how overpriced some of their teas are compared with other places I go to. This. Place. Is. AMAZING. I've been needing a massage for a couple months now and boy, am I ever glad I chose Apothecary Tinctura. My MT, Marion, was a complete breath of fresh air. She's well educated (as a former MT I can vouch for people who know their stuff), she's kind and easy to talk to and her skills are phenomenal. The price ($93 for 90 min's in Nov - regularly $110) is comparable to other similar services in Denver. If you're thinking it might be a little higher than what you're used to, then you should consider this: typically, you get what you pay for and Marion is worth every penny that Apothecary Tinctura charges. I'm planning on returning in December for an herbal consultation and then again in January for another massage from Marion. Can't. Wait. In regards to the products that they sell... They're all lovely. The oils are moderately priced. The herbs I'm not sure about, but I'll know more after next month and will gladly report on my findings. They have candles, journals, baby gifts, baby-mama gifts, gifts for your favorite person, books, etc. Bonus: the store smells heavenly. read more

I'm so thankful that this place exists! I went here on a mission for a Mayan Abdominal Massage, as this was my next step in my journey to better health and a more balanced lifestyle. My massage from Marian Rose was AMAZING. She took lots of time with me during our consultation getting to know my issues, patterns, and symptoms. She was professional while also being very caring and supportive. After a lengthy discussion, I moved to the table where I had my massage. I felt so honored and blessed during and especially after the treatment. She treated me like a Goddess and also taught me the techniques to continue self-care. I left with some tea, which is delicious, and some castor oil with specific instructions on how to support my health at home. I highly and whole heartedly recommed this store for herbal and massge needs. It is a place for supporting women's health and I felt very supported here. The employees are super nice and knowledgeable on the herbs and their products. Love that their products are all natural and most I believe were local. They even have a back treatment area! One stop shop for all! I love that you can take the herbs down and smell them. I made my second trip to this cute and knowledge filled little shop yesterday. I had just come from my midwife who told me I could dodge antibiotics for a certain condition if I took an herbal tincture with specific ingredients. The ingredients my midwife named were not all there. The staff were quick to problem solve and offered another custom mix to treat my situation. Within twelve hours, three doses, I could already see some improvements. Coincidence or not, I was treated so kindly by the staff who were eager to help me. I must say I'm surprised by the complaints. I recently visited to purchase a gift for one of my son's teachers. I was immediately greeted and asked if I needed help finding anything. I explained that I was interested in perfume oils. The sales person directed me to a selection, pointed out popular scents, gave prices and asked if I had a specific scent in mind. Within minutes I left with a great gift. The overall experience was the ideal shopping experience - quick and courteous - with the customer leaving with exactly what she was looking for. The sales person was more than happy to take the time to answer questions and he seemed concerned that I find what I wanted. The array of practitioners at Apothecary Tinctura is incredible and second to none. Every healer there has played a massive part in my spiritual, emotional, and physical growth. Kristin's Holistic Pelvic Care is incredibly valuable. If I had not seen her for an HPC appointment, I never would have gotten the MRI on my hips that I so desperately needed. Kristin will teach you about your body in ways that are inarticulable - every woman should see her for HPC. Talai's Thai/Deep tissue massage also has saved my hips and helped me recover from previous injuries. I always walk out of appointments with her feeling like I have a new body. Leah uses sound techniques, like tuning forks and tibetan singing bowls, for healing that will blow your mind! She is my lifeline Spiritual Healer and has taught me everything from Journeying to how to breathe. Kelley gives the best scalp massages ever in her Hauschka facials... Amy's acupuncture works wonders for structural issues, back pain, plugged milk ducts, other women's health issues, and stuck liver qi. I may be biased, because worked there in the past, but can honestly say that everyone who works there deeply cares about the community and helping others. It's incredibly sad this is one of the small handful herbal supply stores in Denver. I've been in 5-6 times to buy supplies and gifts and every time I walk out of there feeling gross. One of those times I witnessed a yelling match between one of the employees and a neighbor with her child that was trying to access her own home through the shared ally way and the employee was so incredibly out of line and horrible I dropped everything in my hands and walked out the door. Anyways, I tried one last time last week to give this place another chance and I'm officially a fool. I would rather order things I need online than to support this local business. I've been here several times, and yesterday was the worst experience. I've never had a great experience in this shop, but yesterday was awful. I took 2 friends with me and we were assisted (after much waiting) by a young girl with glasses. It was 1130, 2 other people were in the shop and the guy working was helping them...my girl was rude, certainly not helpful..and couldn't seem less interested in my questions or my friends' questions. They were out of 3 of the herbs I requested. My friend opted not to buy anything because he watched the terrible service I received. I've never even Yelped about a bad experience, but I'm so tired of the staff in this shop.. All in all, it was a terrible experience and I won't be back. Oh my lavender! When I walked in to grab a pound of fresh lavender I realized that my quick errand would not do justice for my first visit here. I wanted to stay and play longer but I had to run off to an event for work. I plan to return when I can savor the moment and study the wall of fresh herbs and flowers like I would books in a library. They have a great selection of baby shower gifts (be prepared for only "all natural Mom" gifts - a bit of a drawback for me), but regardless really cute gifts and books. They are very overpriced, and the staff was standoffish. I love the atmosphere, but I came in here about a month ago to find a good mom-to-be moisturizer and was told "you can't prevent stretch marks" (which I'm aware of), and pointed me to a section of the store that had a few oils (all over $20 for a tiny bottle.) After being pointed in the right direction and basically lectured, I left without purchasing anything. I wish that people would check out the other stores like this! You don't have to pay this much, and you can find much nicer staff. Otherwise, I think it's cool that they have so many Mom books, and also a really wonderful selection of teas, natural hers, and natural face care products. read more

I like this place alot. I use essential oils, and they have many of the more obscure oils that you cannot find at Wild Oats and Whole Foods. Plus , you're supporting a small bussiness, instead of the mass suppliers, Auracacia and Windemere. The prices on the oils are acceptable, since many are organic. I also like that they are locally crafted. They have a whole wall of glass jars with stuff to make herbal teas with. I agree that some of the gift-y sort of stuff is overpriced. They do have a punch card though, one punch for every 30.oo, and after 3 or 4 punches, you get a 30.oo allowance to spend in the store. That's kinda cool. I have not taken one yet, but they have alot of free classes that teach you about health, pick up a flier in the store (or go online for schedule). read more

I felt that Kristin both connected with me and helped me tap into/discover some of the stresses both mentally and physically that I have been dealing with.
