The prices are very reasonable compared to other places that cut/style hair but the quality is so much higher as well as the stylists are very knowledgable. Francis is the best hair stylist I have come across! He cuts hair and has no panic attacks over super long hair like many hair stylists I have come across. He is so knowledgeable and friendly making the experience of getting my hair trimmed/styled that I am never afraid I will come away with a hack-job. Tala also has many other services, most that I am unfamiliar with such as massage, waxing, hair coloring services, etc. but I have had mani/pedi there and they were comparable to the other places. read more

I have been going to this salon for massages for 8 months. I try and schedule a bi-monthly massage as often as I can. At first the location and neighborhood seems a little sketch, but once you are inside this establisment you forget all about it. Very nice inside, very friendly staff. Sue is so nice when she is at the front desk. I have been seeing Lourdes for my massages and she is an absolute treat! She really pays attention to my needs and wants during my massage. She also gives special tips and tricks to use in between massages to work on problem areas. The salon is usually steady with business, and they offer many wonderful services. The owner is unethical and has bad business practices... The services were good BUT the owner will scam you!!! Four of us girls went for massages and facials on a Thursday. The owner was initially fantastic- she called in extra help to accommodate getting us in at the same time. The facial was very relaxing, came with exfoliation, mask, hand/foot massage and lip "gloss." I never felt pressured to buy anything, however, she was telling me all the products she was using. The massage was good too- my therapist was a little quirky- but she was personable and good. The problem came when we went to check out. I was charged $145 for both services. The owner, Sue, was ringing everybody up and never said how much she was charging us- just handed us the receipt after she ran our cards. I asked how I was supposed to tip the services and she said, "Oh, you should have told me before. I can run your card again." While I stood there, I looked at my receipt and received a shock- I was thinking I would pay $125, NOT $145. When I questioned her about the "European Facial" that I'd received for $80, I told her we'd signed up for the regular $60 facials. She said "that's a MINI FACIAL." She was very rude. I told her that no where online does it say "mini facial." She again said the $60 was a mini facial and that's what it said online. I told her that was absolutely false, pulled up her own website and showed her that "mini facial" isn't even an option, and besides that, she'd charged us MORE than the "European Facial" price on her website. She wouldn't converse with me after that- never responded to my questions. One of my friends offered me cash to tip so she didn't have to charge my card again since she apparently chooses random prices to assign- I handed her a $10 and a $20 as tips, she handed back the $10 and mumbled something I didn't quite catch. So all in all, my excellent aesthetician and massage therapist likely got screwed out of a tip because their boss has some sketchy business practices. I'd steer clear, which is unfortunate, because the people who work for her are obviously talented and are blinded by their bosses unethical practices. read more

If you made an appointment in this place, please beware: the owner, Sue, will trick you if you are not careful. Reading the reviews now I noticed another person had a similar experience I got. I originally came to this place with a gift my students gave me of $100 gift card for SpaFinder (really nice, right?) and I made an appointment for a pedicure. When I got there, she reminded the lady who did my nails (like 3 times, no joking) that I wanted a spa pedicure. Long story short, she charged me $60 including a $5 tip I added, and when I paid with the gift card, instead of deducting the money from it and return it for me to use somewhere else, she gave me a gift certificate of $40 to use it in her spa. Basically making me reserve another service. I went with it and reserved a facial. I asked her for the cheapest facial that is $60 and she booked me. I got there today and the lady who did my facial was wonderful and educated me about the cleaning she was doing and why. Before she gave me the facial I told her I was getting the $60 one and she was still wonderful. I was super happy until I got to the counter to pay, when Sue said I owe her $40 (including the other $40 gift certificate I had). She booked me for the $80 facial when I originally asked for the $60 one. When I told her I got the $60 facial, and the lady that did it advocated for me, Sue was super rude and told me many times in my face that it was my fault because I asked for the European. If this happens in another spa, if I got another service that "the original intended", owners should be ethical and have manners with the client. But this was not the case; rule number one of customer service: the client is always right. I want to clarify I never come online to leave bad reviews. I feel sorry for the people that work for her because they are wonderful. If you get a Groupon, or want to try this spa, beware of her. Make her write on a paper or something what is that you getting and how much will it cost before you get the service. I believe she is the type of owner that likes the money and doesn't mind keeping the client. I gave it 2 stars because of her workers. She deserves zero. read more

I found this place via a Spafinder gift card from a friend. First, I should be up-front with you: I'm not the typical spa, manicure-getting, highlights wearing kind of lady. Spas terrify me a little because I don't get the protocol and almost always end up looking like an idiot. I get flighty when people come at me with beauty products. Are you trying to smother me with that hot towel!?! Anyway, I went in for microdermabrasion because I'm turning thirty-seven and--in a moment of vanity--scraping off the first several layers of my face with a diamond-tipped vacuum sounded like a stellar idea. And you know what? It TOTALLY was! I saw Simine, and she was really lovely. Super professional and no pressure. There were all kinds of fancy pants creams that smelled like lemon (delicious, people!). There were hot towels (no smothering!). There was massaging and friendly conversation. Oh, right, and then the face scraping machine thing. That happened. There was absolutely no pressure whatsoever to book my next appointment (I'm going back there if I have to get a second job...though at this salon's reasonable prices, it will be more like a part-time paper route). And my skin looks like a baby's ass! A clean, shiny, never-had-a-diaper-rash baby's ass! I appreciated that she didn't try to pressure me to purchase any products. I have a hard time saying "no." By that I mean: I have actually left a salon with a hair straightener. My hair is stick straight. Let me repeat that. I purchased a hair straightener. This place is a little gem, and I'm happy to have found it. It's a real treat to get professionally pampered without the high-pressure sales pitch. That's why I'll be back! read more

I should start by saying that I have only gone to Tala to get my hair highlighted by Eric, so please know that this review is for him and his services. Eric has worked at Tala for about 5 years now. In that time frame, he has only done my color a few times, but has done my mother's every 2 months for years and years. Eric is the absolute best as far as i am concerned. He starts each appointment with what my vision is for my color, and then executes it perfectly. I have also been satisfied with my hair and recommend him constantly. Wanted to try a new salon for manicure/pedicure instead of your "typical" nail salons . And I made a huge mistake. Was left to soak my feet in the water which was cold by the time my nail tech got there. The massage chairs are soo old and don't work well at all. I left with my feet just as bad as when I went in as all she did was use bath salt on my feet. No scrubbing of any sort , and no massage. Then on to my gel manicure..... I have 6 coats of gel polish on my nails and it looks horrible. Ridges and dips everywhere. Again no massage she applied lotion to my arms and wiped it off with a towel. Will not return and I will let everyone know of my terrible experience. read more

Ester is the most amazing nail technician. She is so thirow and so professional. I will never go anywhere else. Very clean station and personable person, loved talking to her. She does amazing shellac as well. As for the French manucire, she does it free handed and it's beautiful. So happy!! read more

I live in Las Vegas ( spa capital ) so I flew in to visit with my sister in Denver I looked at a few places online but chose Tala & am glad I did for a girls spa day cause I was not disappointed by the service that the ladies gave me there! They are exceptionally tentative and friendly ! I got a facial ( microdermabrasion ) by Randi & sugar body scrub with steam by Parisa & they were both amazing! I recommend them if you want someone friendly and accommodating. I have been to many spas around the world and I have to say this place is my fave! I get my hair done (Jacque is great and has been doing my hair for years!), massage (Pam knows exactly how to fix the aches and pains), and facial (Alita - comfortable and relaxing).
