As I had a molar extraction before and found it a difficult procedure, I was prescribed valium and I was told I could pick it up at the pharmacy that day. At the pharmacy, I was told they hadn't received the prescription. The same thing happened after I called a second time. Two days before my extraction, I called to ask for it for the third time. This time I got it, but there were no instructions on the bottle on how and when to take it. I called the office to find out. My call was not returned until the day of the appointment, when they called to say they had forgotten to call me back. Not a problem, I took one an hour before. We left on time for the appointment (my husband was required to drive me) but encountered workers clearing cut trees from the road. We couldn't wait the 30 minutes they said it would take to clear the road, so we backtracked, which would mean arriving 20-30 minutes later to the appointment. I immediately called the office to let them know I would be a little late. I was told that it they could not do the extraction because of the delay. Understand, I had taken the day off, my husband had cleared his morning, I had drugged my self in preparation, and now they were telling me to forget it. This experience ruined my confidence in them and I am so disappointed that I intend to find a new dentist. My husband, also a patient at Cataloochee dental, was told that his crown work would be split between two dentists. He was uncomfortable with this plan to begin with, but after my experience, he too will take his business elsewhere.

I requested no numbing for a tooth being pulled - he pulled the majority of the tooth (the remainder of which later was flicked out by another dentist who didn't think I needed numbing at all), and proceeded to be emotionally/verbally abusive trying to force me into an injection. I will never return to this office, and I certainly would never dream of bringing my children here. If you're looking for a kind and decent dentist, steer clear of this office.

I was on vacation so it was an emergency type situation. This was the fastest, nicest dentist I have ever been to! If I lived in the area I would want this as my main dentist! I also don't have insurance, but it didn't cost too much! He even offered to set me up with an oral surgeon to get the tooth out, but since we were leaving the next day, I refused due to an appointment I've made in my hometown. Would use this dentist over and over if I could!!
