Wilmington was the perfect place for our daughter's destination wedding in October 2025. We wanted a local bakery that felt like family and Apple Annie's Bake Shop is it. From the consultation to advice on quantities and flavors to the delivery everything was easy and delicious. For a guest count of around 80 I ordered pies in apple, chocolate mouse, cherry and pecan and pumpkin , brownies in both chocolate and salted caramel and both sugar cookies and peanut butter cookies and cupcakes in carrot cake , vanilla, red velvet and chocolate. Enough for everyone to have samples of everything . Yes I overordered but I don't regret it at all and nothing went to waste. We purchased cute to go boxes off Amazon just in case and and many guests were happy to leave with an extra cupcake or brownie and for those who did Airbnb and were staying a few days the extra pies were a welcome treat for breakfast the next day. Our company recently ordered 30 cakes from Apple Annies. They were not only delicious, but absolutely stunning. The team there made my 6 days of deliveries seamless. Apple Annie's Bake Shop is an adorable bakery full of tons of delicious baked goods. When you walk in there are multiple cases loaded up with fresh treats. The staff are patient and attentive to the customers and were more than happy to answer any questions that we had. I was specifically looking for a cannoli so I called ahead to make sure they had them in stock. They had both the full sized regular cannolis as well as a mini option. I got a few of both and ate one of the minis before even leaving my parking space. It was delicious. We also decided to get some m&m butter cookies just because they looked good and they were tasty as well. Not too sweet but just enough. They had everything from full sized cheesecakes (including a pumpkin flavor for the fall season) to the cutest tiny pinch cookies with everything in between. The only reason I'm giving them one star instead of zero stars is because Lily was so nice and was put in a bad situation. I ordered a cake a week in advance and was told I could pick it up at 9:30 am the following week. The cake was for a work meeting and celebration at 10:00. I arrived at 9:35 and there was no cake. Lily called the other branch and was told it was probably on the delivery truck which would get to her location in 1.5 -2 hours. I tried to call the main branch and track down the cake. I was willing to go get it wherever it was. The main branch was not answering their phone and just letting it go to voicemail. Well at 11:00 Lily called to let me know it had arrived at her location..after my meeting ended. Never again!!!! read more

We have friend drives from jacksonville once a month to get danishes so when we came into town we had pop by see what's they had to offer and you can't go in and walk out empty handed because it's so mouth watering you won't be able to stop yourself. They had cinnamon buns or rolls that were bigger than my hand! They have wide variety of cookies and pies and the staff was so nice and helpful! They are gearing up for the Easter holiday and I can see a pie on my table from here for sure! They take orders in person or by phone and just are amazing young ladies. I needed a scone.... NEEDED. They had two options, blueberry and chocolate chip. Large crusty scones. It hit the spot. Had a biscuit texture to me, but i still enjoyed it. I also grabbed some gluten free brownies and a blond for the hubby. They had a great selection (in cooler) and had vegan options. Perhaps a bit of baking soda in the display cases could be of use, or maybe the treats I chose were more than a few days old. I tried, but couldn't enjoy them because of that refrigerator smell and taste absorbed into the treats. So disappointed with my last visit there. I was on the hunt for seeded rye bread . I did purchase one loaf and had it sliced for me. Brought it home and made a sandwich. The color was good , fewer caraway seeds than I like. The crust was soft , what a disappointment. I was hoping for a nice crusty loaf , but sadly it is not . I've used AA for yearly birthday's for decades and never been disappointed till now. Decided to order cupcakes instead of a custom cake. They are so small I thought they were mini ones. They were all in one box touching the others, they don't even use the special cupcake boxes that have a hole for each so even though they were handled with care the icing was trashed on 3 of them. I have always had amazing experiences here at Apple Annie's. It is very convenient to my work and sometimes I stop by just because I see the building and feel the urge to get pastries for co workers. I have also gotten a couple cakes from here that were perfectly delicious. They take call ahead orders like cakes that need to be made ahead of time but their shelves are always full with goodies to chose from. This last visit I got 4 paid tries and a cup of coffee it was about $18 and well worth it for always fresh and delicious treats. The customer service has also always been a 5 stars for me! If you order a cake ahead of time, then you should call them the day before to make sure they will actually make it by the time you both agreed to pick it up. Showed up for our son's graduation cake on our way to Raleigh. Graduation was in 4 hours. No Cake!!!! They quickly began putting one together and told me it would be a few minutes. 30 minutes later we had a rushed cake with 1 picture on it---we had agreed upon 3 pictures on the cake. The border decorations looked like I did it in my kitchen. I was hoping for an apology email 3 days later when I returned home. No email. I sent them a message on their website making sure the owners/managers knew what happened. 3 days later still No Email! Pastries include apple, blueberry, raspberry, cherry, cheese, strawberry, strawberry rhubarb, cinnamon, almond. They have all kinds of cinnamon rolls, and croissants, plain, spinach, swiss cheese, chocolate. There is a case with cookies, eclairs, scones. There are many premade beautiful cakes, and loaves of fresh baked bread. I got a blueberry and cherry danish and I can say, they were the best I've had in 68 years. Soft, just the right sweetness. Wife and I decided to have a dessert date today, so we chose Apple Annie's main bakery. As soon as you walk in you're overtaken by the amazing smells of the magic they bake here. Today was pretty good because they had the UNCW Seahawk in house. We had our pictures taken with the Seahawk. The employees were very friendly and attentive, but not overbearing or pushy. Very good. We chose a Mocha Square, Lemon Roll Cake, Cream Puffs, coffee, and a whole Tiramisu to go. We wanted to eat there, but they don't really have seating like the other location. We decided to eat at Hey!Beer. Of course everything we had was delicious! The Mocha Square was amazing. After dinner, we finally tried the Tiramisu. OMG! The best Tiramisu we've ever had. Our wedding cake was Tiramisu because we love Tiramisu. This is awesome! We will get this again. Recommend you give Apple Annie's a try. read more
