I had to make an emergency Genius Bar appointment from my hotel room landline when my iPhone totally overheated and would not work on my trip to El Paso this past May. I could not call in or out, and I could not text or receive texts at all on my iPhone, which is why I had to resort to my hotel landline telephone when everything else failed. The only device that worked and did not overheat from the intense Texas heat was my MacBook. So at least I could still connect to WiFi and go online within my hotel room to connect to an Apple rep. Unfortunately, everything that could possibly go wrong did just that on this particular trip :( ! The Apple rep walked me through all the troubleshooting videos on the Apple website. But when those still did not resolve my iPhone failure issue, she helped to schedule a Genius Bar appointment for me at the one and only Apple Store in El Paso, located at the Cielo Vista Mall. I have to admit that it was quite a project for me to print out maps from the hotel lobby computer and printer and to get to the Cielo Vista Mall the old-fashioned way (without a functioning smartphone navigation system, and without being able to use Lyft or Uber Rideshare because my phone was not functional). But I had no choice :( ! Unless I wanted to ask the hotel front desk to allow me to use their landline to call a cab to my hotel. All I can say is thank goodness I stayed in a hotel this time, and not an Airbnb. Otherwise, I would have been totally screwed with not being able to use any landline! Fortunately, once I got to the Apple Store at the El Cielo Mall, an Apple employee named Raymond helped me right away with the Genius Bar appointment that the online Apple rep helped me book online. Both he and Manny troubleshooted the overheating fiasco that my iPhone went through, but also pointed out that some of the navigating apps might have glitches, which could have also led to my iPhone becoming non-functional (besides the intense Texas heat). They were so friendly and helpful, and they really helped me get my iPhone back to where it was before by using their diagnostic troubleshooting tools :) ! However, they advised that all I could really do when any smartphone overheats is to try to cool it down. But if all else fails, and if my smartphone reaches the point of no return in regards to trying to cool it down and recover it, I may need to send it in for repair or purchase a brand new iPhone altogether. Hopefully, this doesn't happen to me again when I'm on a trip! But I have to admit that their exceptional customer service truly made up for my horrible traveler nightmare that I hope no one would ever have to go through! read more

This is not my first time coming to this Apple Store, but this was the most phenomenal customer experience I have ever had in my entire life! I went because I was bored and we were shopping at Cielo Vista, so I went to the Apple Store. We were instantly greeted by a very nice lady, and she recommended an Apple Vision Pro Demo, so I took advantage of it. My guide was another guy, who showed me through the Apple Vision Pro. Meanwhile, my little brother gets a HomePod Mini, and soon my mom will get an iPhone 15 Pro, and my dad will get an Apple Watch. These were the nicest people I've ever met! Not having a phone in stock is not the problem, the problem here is the poor and unfriendly customer service. One salesperson was standing around, and when I made eye contact and moved towards speaking to him, he froze. It was evident that he was having a bad Friday. His attitude was awful and just not nice overall. When he told me that the phone I want is not in stock. He did not bother to look online to tell me if and when a new shipment would arrive. His demeanor and tone was negative, and he had a tone about him. I'm going to look at buying my new phone online or at the Verizon store. I do not want to return here. Sad. read more

I had to return to store today to trade in my computer. I was dreading the experience because my purchase experience was so bad to begin with. I flew into El Paso from Costa Rica the morning of the 19th. I went straight to the Apple Store to purchase my new computer, a new M4 Macbook Air. I was greeted by a young lady that really made my purchase experience horrible. She did not know the process and gave me completely wrong information regarding the trade-in procedure. Because the apple website does not state that I have to make an appt with the genius bar to transfer my information from my old comp to the new one, I had to make an appt which none were avail for a few days. I live out of state and that would not have been feasible to come back. So she told me that I could take old computer home and transfer the data to the new comp and send in the old one within 14 days. I then told her that when i did send it in I would want the trade-in value applied to my apple credit card. She stated that would not be a problem. So I agreed that i would do that. Well the transfer went well no problems until I called support to find out how to mail my computer back and to facilitate my apple card's credit for the trade-in value. That is when I learned that I should have received some sort of trade in kit and then I could send in my old computer. I did not receive this trade in kit. Then I asked about the credit to my card and I was told that I could only be issued an apple gift card which I could not use to apply towards my apple card. I was told the only way to receive the credit on my apple card was to take the computer back into the store. Well again I live out of state and did not want to do that in the first place. I ended up taking valuable time out of my schedule to take my computer back to the store and trade it in. Then when I got home I noticed that I had not received the email copy of my purchase. So I called the store 3 TIMES and no one answered. Twice i was transferred to a call center and they told me I had to call the store, which I did 3 TIMES. 3 times to the direct line at the store. I emailed the store asking for my receipt and nothing. This experience has cost my about 200 dollars in time and extra travel expense!! Every other Apple store that I have been to has been excellent but the El Paso store which I have been to twice before has always been disappointing in the level of service. read more

The staff here is always very attentive to my issues and/or needs. It is well lit with a demo of every product they offer. I came in due to an issue with my trade going from the iPhone 12 Mini to the 13 Pro. While the issue still isn't fully resolved, the management's assistance is well appreciated. With a 90% solution in place, we sit at four stars that will be upgraded once we are truly completed. Note to unhappy customers. Attitude goes a long way. Created a yelp account just to call out this business at cielo vista mall? Isn't that usually what people do? You get great service and have nothing much to say online until a few bad experiences and you had enough! Went into the store with an accessory I had purchased in September. I've purchased many silicone cases from Apple through out the years, and what I like best about this specific case is there was a warranty that allows customers to exchange whenever the silicone starts to peel off. Unfortunately, that was not the case for the gentleman I spoke to yesterday, Gabe. After sitting around for 45 minutes, I finally got in contact with an expert, who asked for my receipt in order to complete the purchase, I asked him if he would be able to look it up with my number because the purchase was made back in September. I understand the policy. I just feel the representative was already frustrated and was just trying to avoid the interaction. I felt at some point he was going to just do the exchange, but then he mentioned that the warranty would be denied because it only covers wear and tear, and not damage, which was not the case. The dude made the assumption on his own. There is no physical damage. Usually the expert will repeat this some of the times that I've gone, and usually the representative will just go ahead and replace the accessory because it is true, how would they figure that the peeling is caused by the customer. Long story short everything was conspired. I asked for a manager a guy wants to give me 10% for a $60 case that I purchased that has warranty. I think it's just a guy thing and trying to prove a point but it definitely puts a perspective on how some people feel they can run the business for the business and come up with the ultimate decision to dissatisfy a long time customer. During my wait, I felt like everybody was complaining. I work in the cellular industry and people constantly complain about the employees at the Apple Store. And I got to experience it for myself. Customer service is poor at best and the staff doesn't seem to be particularly interested in being experts about their products. I've generally been better off using google and shopping at Amazon/Best Buy etc than trying to go to this store. I tried to stop by today on my lunch break but they apparently decided not to open anywhere close to their posted hours. I wasn't the only one who was disappointed though, they had a large crowd of people waiting for them to open and not a single Apple employee in sight (their cleaners were just getting to work inside the store while every other store in the mall was open and decently busy) I'm sure the that the store management will blame the snow we got today but anyone who is familiar with snow in El Paso knows that it melts quickly and the roadways were pretty much fine well before they should have opened let alone noon. Why does this apple store have to be awful! All the others have amazing customer service, but this one is awful. Walked in bought an iPhone 12 Pro Max with Apple Care, case and screen protector - all in about $2,000. Was in and out in 20 minutes but my one question was will my text messages transfer. Realized about 20 minutes after leaving that they weren't loading and went back. Got in line and they explained that it wasn't part of the backup and I would need to wipe my new phone, backup messages from old phone and then reload to get them. I understood and started the process standing there. The guy helping me said that it would go much faster with WiFi inside, so I asked to go in and was told that transferring data was not a valid reason to go in the store and I would have to wait outside with the slow backup. I thought about the response, asked if returning the new phone was a valid reason to go in the state and was allowed in..... so I can return my $2,000 purchase but I can't use the Wifi inside to fix a missed step in the conversion process..... When I explained what I wanted to do- the employee inside quickly grabbed a manager who said I was welcome to sit as long as needed (ended up being about 10 minutes) to fix the backup and reload the new phone, apologized and said he would speak to the employee outside. K, I'll be honest: never have I ever felt the need or desire to physically set foot inside the Apple store. Oh, I've walked past them plenty of times and there's absolutely no hatred toward the Apple store. Although I'd be lying if I said I've never heard any alleged horror stories about Apple care and the "Genius" Bar. From long customer service wait times to ambiguous responses to technical support via the "Genius" Bar (and yes, I'm gonna continue using air quotes around that terminology because it's as pretentious as it sounds; plus it reminds me of the Geek Squad from Best Buy). Fortunately for me, today's experience was nothing like the aforementioned horror stories or certain previous reviews I've read here would suggest. Because I was basically in and out, as I usually am. First, a little brief history on yours truly.. I hate, hate, HATE going to the mall. This is due to the inexorable fact that virtually ANY store you walk into, you're guaranteed to get accosted by uncomfortably forced friendly greetings and/or encouragement to spend way more money than originally intended upon first contemplation. Point is: this is an introvert's worst nightmare. Which leads me to the main reason I never go to the Apple store (usually). All of the employees there are trained to immediately interact with a walk-in customer before they've even had time to say, "Hey, Siri!". With that said, it literally took only 10 seconds for the guy by the door to ask if I needed any help. I was about to make his day, because I did. I came here...to pick up the Apple Watch Series 2, which I previously ordered online that morning. So there's the reason I came to a store I normally otherwise avoid. Because honestly, whilst I have nothing against the Apple store as a concept, I also find it somewhat unnecessary for my own personal needs, for the most part. But I've been wanting this watch for months now and quite frankly, a product this popular is much less convenient to attempt to order or buy via any other venue outside of the infamous multinational technology company themselves. It's a simple matter. The Apple store exists to streamline the purchasing, perusing, and maybe even repairing of all things Apple. And streamlined it was! I was in and out of that store within 15 minutes and I gotta give props to the guy who helped me NOT making me feel socially awkward or uncomfortable. He greeted me by first name with a cordial handshake and the transaction itself was fast and completely digital. When all was said and done, I had the product in my hands within minutes and the receipt was emailed directly to my gmail account. Fast food joints got nothin' on the expedience Apple has here. Although I don't ever see myself coming here to try and get my Apple products repaired (because I already do most of that stuff myself anyway), I'm glad this type of place exists, if for no other reason, than to house and vendor certain new Apple products which would otherwise be painfully difficult or even MORE expensive to purchase through other venues. Like eBay. Seriously...as big of an eBay addict as I am, do NOT buy a brand spanking new Apple product from eBay thinking you'll get a bargain. Usually it's being offered at an even more absurdly inflated price. The Apple store is fine enough for what it is. I recommend going there early in the morning (closer to when they first open) if you want to avoid a crowd. But if you're insane enough to go there on launch day to get the latest iPhone...just....I pity you. That's all I've got to say about that. Apple as a store gets 4 johnny-on-the-spot Apple employees being careful not to make us introverts feel too socially uncomfortable...out of 5. Oh, yes...the inside of the store is exactly what you'd expect: clean, well lit, and organized with iPhones standing tall and sparkling all in a row. After years and years of avoiding Apple Stores (even though I own quite a few Apple products that I absolutely adore), I finally had to step foot inside this Apple Store because my laptop went cuckoo after messing up the Yosemite update. Being inside this Apple Store is exactly what I imagine it would be like to finally be part of Ms. Frizzle's class... you know, if we all hopped on The Magic School Bus and she shrunk us down to the size of atoms and we flew into an iPhone. It's my childhood fantasy brought to life! It's clean, smart. There's no real edges, more like sharp curves (yeah, you figure that one out). There's a bunch of "Geniuses" in red throughout the store. I don't know why I thought Apple employees would be in blue. I clearly came at a bad time because although I had scheduled an appointment, no one acknowledged me for 20 minutes. And I felt way too awkward to interrupt one of these "Geniuses" helping potential customers pick the best laptop for themselves because that's like saying, "Oh you want to join the Apple club? That's cute. But your sh*t comes last because I'm already in it." It's just a tricky thing. So I waited. And waited. And waited. And eventually I turned my normal smiling face into the horrifying RBF (Resting B*tch Face) that I reserve for such occasions. After locking eyes with an employee that went from happiness to completely terrified, I was immediately helped. Now, here's my issue... As a female, I know that occasionally I will run into males that consciously or subconsciously believe I know diddly about anything simply because of my sex. But seriously, from this point forward I am no longer letting this sh*t slide because it's getting hella annoying. I asked my "Genius" to just remove the Yosemite update and let me go back to the previous version I was using. To which he literally started bickering with me and telling me how Yosemite is better and it's just the way I installed it. I told him multiple times, I don't care if it's better... I don't care if it can be re-installed to work perfectly... I DON'T F**KING WANT IT BECAUSE IT'S A WORK COMPUTER AND I WOULD LOSE EVERYTHING. He wouldn't listen, which let me know that I'd definitely be having to send it to our IT department regardless of what he did so fine, do your thing so I can send some e-mails and write a review about how YOU NO LISTEN! The "Geniuses" were nice enough, but seriously I'd like to spend the least amount of time in an Apple Store as possible. I will say getting a job there is hard, it's a long process and I guess that's why some employee's truly think they are to a point "better" than a customer they are SERVING. Saw it all the time at my old store also. In general, your Apple Store experience is very "hit or miss". It all depends on who you get and how flexible they are to help you out. 3+ bad experiences and consistent awful service at this store make it a top 3 worst I've ever been too. 1. Lost my AirPod piece, they sell a replacement for $69. No biggie it's 100% my fault I don't mind paying to replace. I go to the store, apparently it's policy you need an apt to replace the piece. As is if the "genius" bar is going to do anything besides tell me I need a new piece and sell it to me. Where is the logic in this??? I asked the person to explain to me and he just got snappy with me and that's where I say alright and leave. Be more professional at least right? Na not this guy lol. 2. Cracked screen. I go in, 15 min early for my apt. The "genius" bar tech spends 45 min speaking with the previous customer over items not even related to the phone being serviced. When she sees that we are annoyed she promptly realizes she's taken an hour and fifteen minutes to do nothing and sets our replacement up in 10 min... not even close to the same service but like I said! It's never the same experience, always depends on who you get. 3. Trade in. I went to trade in old iPhone and upgrade the device. I TOLD the rep please see the camera has a hairline crack. She says no worries and says it'll still count towards trade in just fine. We ended up not trading because we didn't know color of the new iPad we were purchasing yet (a gift). We come back next day and a new rep says they won't accept the trade in! Like dude what the hell! All in all, this Apple Store is very lucky this is only store in El Paso. Why? I had to go 4 times to this store because the I-phone 15 plus gave out on me during the holidays. Apple kept blaming AT&T just to not fix my phone. The employees at Apple treated me like a criminal and would not admit that the phone is a lemon. It was sent out again for a repair that the store did not do correctly. Never again will I buy an Apple product. They are not worth all the hype. I saw several people walking in with the laptops also because they would not work. Today was the only day I had time to take my MacBook in for some minor connectivity issues and so I set up my appointment online. I saw that there was only one appointment left for 5:15pm and so I took it. I arrived right on the dot and I walked on over to an employee to check in. He then tells me he can't check me in so he sends me to another employee who has a line of about 10 people. About ten minutes pass by and it's finally my turn to check in. I check in and go right away to the Genius Bar to wait my turn. I didn't wait that much longer at the Genius Bar and the employee quickly found my problem! He was very friendly and informed me of what else I could do to prevent the same problem. Than you! This place was crazy busy but hey, I think every apple store is and especially on a Saturday. There was a ton of employees on the sales floor standing around and oddly they only had the one employee checking people in, weird. Do make and appointment online if you don't want to wait a long time. I overheard a walk in customer say she had been waiting close to two hours to get her iPhone looked at at the Genius Bar. You guys suck! Your apple phones are terrible. My husbands phone calls suddenly stopped working. It's not the sim car but simply the phone. He could FaceTime and what's app call but regular calls had no sound. When we went to your apple store you broke his phone even more! Now his cell service won't even work. And all they said was that his warranty expired and he needed a new phone. His phone is barely a year old. This is ridiculous!! We spend over 6 hours and 3 visits trying to get his phone fixed with you guys and you did absolutely nothing to help but break it even more! I brought my new iPhone 12max to have the display fixed and I have AppleCare+. Christian the technician with glasses had no empathy and talks very condescendingly. He said my AppleCare+ doesn't cover scratches, only if it is cracked. So basically he's saying I have to come back and break my phone in order for my warranty to cover the display. It's so hard to come by people with great customer service these days and better ways to explain. Went to make an exchange on a gift around 7pm. (I wasnt given a gift receipt so I was not sure the store could help me). The entrance associates were kind and quick to attend me. I've been to two other locations in Dallas (North Park Center) and Washington DC (Fashion Center). The customer service is iffy depending on when you go at this one as far as getting a technician to help you out, you might be waiting a bit, but the wait is worth having your item taken care of. Yet keep in mind this is the only Apple Store in this area, and so glad there's one here. I spent 4 hours on a Sunday trying to get my IPhone fixed, but at least it was checked and I was given a loaner and allowed to get all the updates and backups etc., until my new one arrived. At the end of the day I was able to sleep knowing that I had a functional phone, and didn't need to miss work on Monday to take care of this. I was frustrated cause of the wait, but in the end I left with a functioning IPhone. read more

If you can, shop for Apple items online. This store has terrible customer service. I don't get why they have so many "geniuses" on the floor all the time if NONE of them are courteous enough to ask people if they can be of help. It is as if they have a "you need to come to me" attitude. I bought an iPhone 5c at a Tmobile store and walked in to the Apple store to find a case for it. Since none of the geniuses bothered to ask me what I needed or what I was looking for, I walked over to the cases and chose one that I liked. I literally wandered around for like 5 minutes to see if someone would ring me up for it. I could have easily walked away with the cover and nobody would have noticed it. Finally, I asked someone and I was able to pay for my case and leave. Another time, my partner wanted to purchase an iPad. I work for an acadenmic institution and as such, they had a discount we wanted to take advantage of. The sales girl and I were discussing the purchase and as soon as my partner pulled out his credit card, the girl turned over to him and completely ignored me. It was as if after that, I wasn't even there. Also, If you are not from Juarez or don't have the Juarez "look", you will be ignored at this store. They seem to just cater to those whom they determine are there specifically to make a purchase. Due to the type customer from across the border it is dubbed "The Cartel Branch". Has most all of the bling that Apple is known for. I am from out of town, I was directed to bring my phone to an Apple Store for evaluation, AND I have no appointment. Imagine my surprise when I was directed to a line where Carlos could help me. I waited patiently in my little line only to be told I would need an appointment and the first available was Saturday. There was No ONE to help me even the Genius behind the bar staring into space was busy. Is there a reason #1 could not confirm this. Carlos...
