Good prices on produce and nice Italian provisions but I purchased flowers they died in 2 days and they wouldn't hear of making good on them. Any store would've at least replaced them or given a partial credit. Poor customer service policy and they just refused to make any accomodation. read more

Good prices for only some items.. Like 99 cent pomegrenates..Not everything is cheap here or of good quality. Sweet potatoes and other items much cheaper at Shoprite...Will give it other tries but so far not impressed. read more

Great produce and very reasonably priced. I usually leave with 3 bags full of produce and rarely spend more than $20. The variety is great too. My only issue is with some of their "specialty" items, like dried fruits and nuts. I've bought these a few times and had them be stale and inedible. Generally stay away from these. But for fresh fruits and veggies they are the very best!! read more

I love this place! Excellent prices on produce and fair prices on everything else. Not to mention FRESH. Lots of seasonal stuff placed out front. Turnover is high here. Seafood area has lots of fresh options, and the fish guy is great at cleaning and cutting for you. Milk is also better priced here than at most supermarkets. I was in the meat deli today (12/23 at 6pm) trying to get some help. I'd been in twice before and got okay service. This time man behind the counter decided to actively ignore me. First I tried to catch his eye, but he kept ignoring me. Then I tried to ask him for help. I was roundly ignored. I started to get angry and walk away when my husband walked over and asked the guy if he was going to help anybody. The man's reply was that he was helping Ticket Number 8. Since we were soundly into the 50's ticket-wise, this was an obvious lie. After he was called out on his lie by another angry customer, he decided to deem to help us. Because I'm not a person that likes to leave complaints online if I can talk to management, I quickly went home and tried to call the store. After ten rings I hung up because nobody was answering. My husband also tried calling a few minutes later and got a recorded message, but no way to leave a message. Because their service seems to fluctuate between okay and awful, I don't think I'll be back. read more

I bought one dozen JUMBO brown organic eggs Quaker State Farms at Apple Farm store White Plains yesterday, and was shocked to see tiny, pale yellow egg yolks (chickens with diets lower in xanthophylls, such as feeding regimens that consist of mostly wheat, white cornmeal or barley typically produce pale yellow yolks which are supposedly nutritionally as good as darker yolks). The eggs had a bland taste. Poaching the eggs did not cook the same as other organic brown eggs. I now understand that younger chickens must have been the source of the tiny yolks, and the pale, yellow yolks the result of their diet. I have had much better luck with other organic eggs from more recognizable producers. I cannot find any contact information for the egg producer Quaker State Farms. Big disappointment. read more

First, I wanted to report that they now take credit cards (Visa and Mastercard), since that seemed to be a big negative in a few reviews. I really like Apple Farm. Yes, their produce isn't always the best quality, but it's good enough for my needs and the price is usually very good. I'm not buying as much there as I used to now that H-Mart is open, but between the two stores I can get everything I need at very good prices. Their fish market is excellent, you can get fresh cut tuna steaks for a great price (no skin, either). Haven't used the deli so I cannot speak to that. read more

HORRIBLE PLACE! STAY AWAY!! These people know NOTHING about customer service. The entire staff is unfriendly - with the DELI being the WORST part..every one of the guys are downright nasty! Best place to get your fruits and vegetables, especially broccoli rabe. You also have a seafood station in the back and a deli station. The only thing I have an issue with and I find it disturbing is they don't accept debit or credit cards. It's a cash only business. read more

We go here every week still like it but at times hit or miss on some fruit. Tonight had to pass on strawberries on sale just couldn't find good looking ones, this happens to me at supermarkets a lot too. Bananas recently crazy good! Shopping organic is the new craze, but I've been shopping farmers' produce for years by coming here. My mom use to bring me here when I was younger for the fish market and fresh fruit and vegetables. Though it can be a bit pricey compared to larger grocers, this is the place to get the items that taste fresh from the garden. read more

The store left their pineapples outdoors in cold weather and the one I bought was moldy and rotten when I sliced it open. When I took it back the young man who said he was the manager refused to give me an exchange or credit or my money back because it was more than two days since I bought it. We were not able to get back to the store to return it earlier and I had kept it refrigerated. Other customers said he should have done something for me for the sake of customer goodwill. In the past I have frequently purchased produce there but it will be a long time before I return to this particular store in White Plains/Greenburg. There are other produce stores in the area which value their customers and treat them much better. read more

This is the place to go for fruits, veggies and cold cuts. They have good prices, and fresh selection for fruits and vegetables. The deli is great, it's a boars head deli and they do so much volume that the cold cuts are always fresh. They have dried meats and sausages. They also have a large fish department that always has fresh fish available. Definitely better than a grocery store for these items. read more

The quality of the produce is more consistently good at the Port Chester Apple Farm, which also accepts credit cards. The cash only option is a real deterrent apart from the stop for a few quick items. This Apple Farm also has the deli and fish section which the PC one does not, but head to a place with organic options for these items anyway so the PC store still suits me better, though a bit more out of the way. read more

Very good deli like legit good priced fairly, fresh sausage, the softest mozzarella balls. .99 Arthur avenue pizza dough, Very nice flower bouquet's, Fresh made tofu. An amazing selection of fish like 12-15 types. Bread there are like 30 options A lot of local bakery stuff like Portuguese rolls, naan, french, Italian, cheese bread things all kind's of stuff from different cultures. They sell juice oranges 3 for a dollar very juicy delicious glass of fresh squeeze. cash only, but there is a atm. Loose mixed greens salad that is all not at all rotten like you find in the pre-bagged stuff. I got some awesome small melons called yellow melons they where so sweet. They sell the sausages you see hanging cut up into containers on the deli counter so good! Fresh ricotta. A lot of what I consider table cheese's hard Italian types. Like any store you have to see what seems ripe and smells sweet when it comes to produce. Imported Italian dry good's canned tomatoes from Italy very cheap like 2$. read more

I really like this place. The food turnover is phenomenal so stuff has never been sitting around long. It is not slick or stylish but the produce is very fresh and prices extremely low. The fish market is a separate concession with a broad selection, again at excellent prices. Bakery products are brought in from local Portuguese, Italian and other ethnic bakeries and prices are half what they are elsewhere. The Italian deli has great quality, low prices and a very wide variety, including quite the cheese selection. I go here often and there is ample parking and you can be in and out very quickly. read more

I agree with almost all the pros and cons in most of these reviews. Prices are generally very good, and as long as you realize that the produce is "B Stock", you'll do very well. My biggest complaint about Apple Farms is the staff at their Deli counter. While the food is very good, excellent mozzarella, sausages, salads and sopresatta, nearly every time I've shopped there I've had a negative experience with the deli clerks. They're rude, nasty and less than cooperative, look for any reason to create a conflict, and generally put everyone in a bad mood when they leave. I've stopped shopping at the deli as a rule, but every once in a while I make the mistake of going back. I'm never surprised at how I'm treated, and my neighbors tell me their experiences are the same. I've also talked to other customers in Apple who say they stay away from the deli because the staff is just so unpleasant. There are several other authentic Italian delis within a few miles (Dante's on Central Ave, and A&S in Thornwood), all with friendly staff. So stick with Apple for fruits and veggies, breads, fish and the rest, but be prepared for rough waters at the deli. read more
