And the bonus? Most of the time they are still warm on the bottom. Just the apple. The other flavors must be made elsewhere because the crust is not the same. No, I'm not a fan of that other place, just not impressed. More impressed with a place way further up county but it doesn't matter. Westchester Greenhouse makes the best Apple Pie. Yes, I have busted into this pie in the car many times. Forks ready. The pie is still hot, folks. Seasonally, the apple cider donuts are the best anywhere. Yes, better than That place. And that other one up there with the mazes, and bouncy houses and things you don't want or need or have to pay extra to walk on their property. Donuts. That's what that line is about. It moves fast. They hand you the box in the line, they are hot. And with more apple cider taste than those other places too. Apple pie and apple cider donuts. Oh and Wave Hill breads if you can't make it to the farmers markets. Everything else is a plus. Plants. Produce. Wreaths. It's all good. I should buy raspberries from them and tell them to make be a custom raspberry pie with that crust they have on their Apple.

It wasn't until I read through the entire ingredients of the product I consumed where I saw "macadamia nut" listed in the mix of all the other ingredients in the products & it wasn't in bold. I don't live in the area but nevertheless I go out of my way to shop and tell everyone I.know to.go. 2 weeks ago I bought a honeydew, half an orange flesh melon and a watermelon.. I specifically said I wanted it ripe for that evening. The orange flesh and watermelon were good. The honeydew went straight in the garbage. It was not close to ripe. But 2 days later the orange flesh and watermelon.also went in the trash because they had turned rancid. Today U went back. I had every intention of making a purchase, but wanted to inform the store of the subpar produce ( that cost an arm and a leg btw) from my last visit. The staff are friendly and very accommodating. The person whom I can only assume is the owner. Is quite nasty. He claimed this has never happened to him in 43 years and that I didn't store the fruit properly and I should've called. He was quite rude and has a lot to learn about customer service. The staff however were very apologetic and could not have been nicer. He is lucky to have them, and I hope he treats them.better than he treated me this morning.

I do however try to support local businesses so occasionally I'll pick up a few things. The WP farmer's market operates downtown on Court St between Main and Martine every Wednesday from 8-4 and (new this year) every Saturday from 8-2. I usually walk through the market on Wednesdays before going into work to browse, and today I had the opportunity to visit them for a little longer. Like any farmer's market, they have a wide selection of fruits and vegetables. I'm bad though, and usually head to the baked goods vendors. Overall, they have a good selection of businesses. Some of them come from upstate while others are local to the city. Two standouts in the market are Gaucho Burger Company and Walter's Hot Dogs who will both soon be opening brick and mortar stores on Mamaroneck Ave. I still think the outdoor farmer's market in Pleasantville is the best one I've been to in Westchester, but the WP one holds its own. They have a good selection of vendors offering a wide variety of products.
