The last 3 or 4 times I've shopped here I've been disappointed, quality of the deli meats isn't what it used to be, empty shelves in the meat and produce department, stale cookies at the bakery, and the senior citizen discount on Wednesdays used to be automatically done by the cashier, now apparently you have to ask for it.. and if the cashier has already rung your order and you mention it ..even if she hasn't bagged it yet, your out of luck..c'mon seriously ? I live in Pelham and have spent much money in that store ..but the greed and attitude is turning me off..the prices are sky high, but I'm willing to pay extra for quality and service but lately I've received neither. I was expecting this to be a high priced speciality grocery store, but it is actually quite affordable and has a great selection. You could easily use it for your weekly grocery needs without needing to drive to a larger chain. They have a small footprint, but are well stocked with a good variety of options. Their produce is fresh. Even though it's small, it doesn't feel crowded or difficult to navigate. Checkout lines are quick. They have a parking lot in the rear of the store. Very pleasantly surprised and can't beat the convenient location in the heart of downtown Pelham. read more

What a nice store! Well stocked with incredible quality and selections of ready made as well as regular supplies of food. We are now with my husband's childhood friend. He had to make a stop at the store. While we were there I got some hot lentil soup and empanadas. Yum both hot food were delicious. We picked a few other items and made our way to checkout. What happened to DeCicco's?! This family run store used to be courteous, thoughtful, well-stocked and a pleasure to shop in. Lately (ever since the family completed its family mansion complex, turning the notion that the grocery business has razor-thin profit margins on its head) the tide seems to have turned at the store. Shopping now consists of empty shelves (I always seem to be a day or two early for those darn carrot and other basic produce deliveries. Or even frozen peas. Or bread. Or a lot of basics that they fall short on.) Topping it off are encounters at check-out with thoughtless cashiers who think nothing of putting a hot roast chicken in a shopping bag next to chilled and frozen foods. When asked why she would do that, the response was, "Most people don't seem to care." Maybe this is the store management's new motto: "Most people don't seem to care." Got it. read more

I will admit, the quality of their produce and meats is very good, however, I now only go here if I need a few items as their prices are insane. They were always very pricey but now it's out of control. Yes, I am aware of inflation, but I am also aware that most people's paychecks (including mine) are not increasing at anywhere near the same rate as all the products we need to buy. I am really disgusted that a SMALL container (only 3/4 full mind you) of mashed potatoes from their hot food bar was $8.15. Is that really necessary?? That's just pure greed. read more

The Land o Lakes yellow american cheese is very plasticky for some reason, this has been the case for a few years now. Rarely it is edible. Perhaps a refrigeration issue? Other places in the area do not have this issue. The rest of the deli is good. read more

If money is of absolutely no object to you - go to DeCiccos. Their produce is amazing and the service is excellent. If you are on a budget and want to know what things cost, you will tear your hair out. Many items are poorly labeled or not labeled at all. Sometimes, items are reasonably priced, but often, they are just insanely pricey. In the produce section, they only display prices on monitors. This means you have to pick something that you hope is the item on the monitor, and then pray that you got it right. I once got a bunch of radishes from them that were like $7. They were absolutely fantastic radishes. But had I been able to figure out the price, I would not have bought them. The same applies to the two beefsteak tomatoes that came in at around $8. They were very tasty. Did I want 4 dollars/piece tomatoes? No. But if you are not Sherlock Holmes, the prices may remain a mystery to you. read more

Used to love it but you can't increase prices and also decrease quality. Went for hot food today and the roasted chicken is now just legs!! Prices higher and the cheapest and poorest quality of chicken. Got chicken sandwich that was average. Should have ordered it but got on display. Chicken dry and bread was old. $17 for takeout sushi! Because I work in the area I'm constantly buying food from DeCicco's - both hot food and groceries. This place is great - so great that I'm pretty disappointed that they don't have a location near where I live. It's understandable because they're a bit pricier than your average supermarket, but you're also getting better quality food and products. As far as groceries go, the produce and meats are always fresh, and they offer conventional as well as organic options. Their aisles are filled with a wide variety of products and they take great care to offer options for people with dietary restrictions. Their gluten-free section is prominently placed towards the front of the store and includes breads, pastas, even oatmeal. They also offer your standard name brand products as well as an impressive selection of products (breads, cheeses, etc) from local vendors. Now, even more impressive than their groceries are their food options. Their buffet is always filled with a variety of meal options that are constantly being replaced with food fresh & hot from the kitchen. To be honest, sometimes some of the options can be a bit bland for my taste (the mac & cheese was disappointing), but most of the time I'm satisfied. Their pasta options are always on point, and I get particularly excited when there's BBQ chicken or ribs. They also always offer at least one vegetable option, usually green beans, roasted root veggies, or a mix of broccoli, cauliflower, and carrots. One of my favorite parts of DeCicco's is their sushi bar. Now, this isn't your standard supermarket sushi. You're getting restaurant-quality sushi rolls. The sushi is made all day long and you can make requests to the sushi chef if you'd like (sushi is always best eaten right after it's made if you ask me). There's also a great salad bar and deli. My other favorite section is their bakery. They're constantly baking delicious cakes and cookies, and they even offer fresh coffee. Oh, and try their cupcakes, any of them. You won't be disappointed. The majority of the staff is very pleasant and willing to help, and rarely do I ever end up having to wait too long to check out. The thorough attention to detail in this place is precisely what I love from the businesses that I patronize. You're definitely getting a top-notch supermarket experience at DeCicco's. read more

I stopped by to pick up some cheese, crackers and prosciutto! I had never been to this quaint family run Market! The cheese counter was awesome! they have a large variety and the gentleman was super helpful. I am not familiar with all the different types, he took the time to find out what I like and gave me 4 superb recommendations. The deli meat section was great as well. Perhaps not as wide variety that I would have liked, but the 3 different types of meat I got were all delicious! AAAAH, this place is confusing as hell! The price for produce is displayed on monitors that take some time to figure out how much everything costs. In my opinion, the sale prices are never that great... I will say that their store made guacamole and mango salsa are AMAZING!!! I absolutely love coming here! Just moved to the area and couldn't be happier that this store is close to where I live. It's small but thoughtfully stocked, and everyone is so helpful and friendly. A true neighborhood store! Fish, meat and cheese counters are great and I always find a special little something around the store. The most exciting part is the Sushi bar! Aside from being extremely convenient (like, 2 minute walk convenient), De Cicco's is also clean, well run and nicely stocked with an extensive array of foods (and beers!). I never eat ready-made meals from the supermarket, but their food is great and they have a ton of healthy options (like grilled chicken topped with fresh bruschetta). Love the made-to-order sushi bar, as well as the olive bar. Compared to neighboring grocery stores, though, their prices are pretty high. read more

I think DeCicco's is great for so many reasons. In fact, I go out of my way to go here even though I no longer live in the area. They have good deals on the meat when they're having a sale, and it's always good quality. Better than Fairway, at a better price I think. Whenever I go it's not very crowded, no where near the bun fight and push through the store that I feel when ever I have to go to Fairway either. I feel that their produce is always excellent. It's a small grocery store, but I always find what I need. The sushi actually is not bad, and I'm not a grocery store sushi fan. The deli is great too, always worth going there instead of buying the pre-packaged stuff. The prices are higher I think for some items (meats, produce, and beer I've found cheaper than fairway), but if there's a sale going on other items it's a good deal. read more

The deli is what keeps me coming back. The cold cuts are fresh and cut correctly. I like the food bar but it's overpriced so I don't buy it. This is the market closest to me and yet I rarely come here... It looks so much better since they remodeled, but the layout is still kinda weird. Employees are friendly enough. My review is for the deli part of the store. Unfortunately I do not know how to spell her name but I will give it a shot. A few months ago they moved the lead deli woman from here (yennedy) and moved her to the Larchmont store. The deli has no become a complete circus. 20 minutes I waited the other day for a sandwich 20 MINUTES and not one person was on the line. it took the girl 20 minutes to make a sandwich. I was also going to purchase cold cuts while there but I did not have all day which is what I believe it would have taken to get my food. One girl is always rude...roles her eyes if you ask for something sliced thin. They don't know what a 1/4 pound is or a 1/2 pound for that matter. I always seem to get more than I asked for and not like a couple of slices I'm talking asking for a 1/4 pound and getting 1 WHOLE pound!!! they need to pull it together and get Yennedy back to whip these people back into shape!!! I've always shopped the Deciccos for years I visited last Friday to purchase peaches and a package of ground beef and expected the high-quality we're paying for with this store to my disappointment I spent over $12 on the peaches alone not one were worth saving I threw out the entire bunch I'm only kicking myself for not returning them to the store they were the worst Peaches I bought this entire season from any store then I went to open the ground beef it looked beautiful as always come to my disappointment they just put the nice fresh meat on top and as he dug into the ground beef it was all brown and old what's going on with you guys expect high-quality from the store you definitely charge the prices for it read more

I am a loyal customer of this supermarket. I live in Pelham and am there quite frequently as I have a big family. Lately I have noticed a lack of staff at the checkout, in particular staff to help bag my groceries. With the amount of groceries I buy I don't want to have to run back and forth between placing them on the belt to be scanned and then having to pack them myself as well. I loved the personalized help I use to get at the checkout. It was one of the main reason I always went to De Ciccos and not to other local supermarkets like Fairway. read more

Many, many times sale priced items do not scan correctly at checkout. Often I have corrected the cashier, which requires a time-stealing price check. While correction is made on my purchase, I wonder if the next shopper will be as successful. Since this problem occurs frequently, I wonder if it is intentional. read more
