I rarely buy liquor and live so close to a grocery store that picking up wine there is my easiest bet more often than not. But since this place is next to the newly opened Civic, I saw them promoting the tasting on their social media as they plan to carry wines from this maker at their location once they are able to serve alcohol. Either way, I was around the way so I dropped by and was pleasantly surprised by how nice everyone was as well as the sense of community that felt present among folks that dropped by for the tasting. Most people I spoke with lived nearby and represented all walks of life. It was nice to just chit chat with folks and sample wine in a warm, cozy and unpretentious environment. I'll definitely be back to support now that I'm more aware of what they have to offer!

I didn't give it 5 stars because even though they're really nice and friendly, the staff don't know a lot about beer, wine, and booze (if you want someone knowledgeable, go to the "sister" store I mentioned above; owned by the same family--at least, as of this writing). They had a selection of Pinotages, as well as the best curated selection of wines I have seen locally. They also had some great deals in front of the store for curious drinkers. Now, whenever I am in the area I tend to pop in just to see what they have new. Just a note about the management: I believe the owners and management are fairly new. I have always had great service there, and some solid suggestions. The shop appears to be run by a couple of very knowledgeable ladies who make an attempt to know their customers.

I was in the neighborhood, attending a spades sleepover, and adult beverages were in order. To Kettering liquor store we go! Now...any cheese they had may have been long ago eaten by the resident cats but the wine selection is on point. From Malvasia, Stella rosa, late harvest Riesling...they have it. They also sell wine stoppers and openers in case ya need those essentials. Great customer service and the manager always knows what he has in house and will make suggestions based upon your taste. And he didn't try to reach for my unicorn hoodie nor flinch when I had to get my ID out of my flap. I'll return next time I'm in the market for drankz!
