Had such high hopes. Beautiful location, and little wait for our party of 7 on a Sunday afternoon…read more Server was initially very attentive, but then stopped coming by. Crab dip was good, but the ahi devlied eggs had tiny pieces of tuna, and were disappointing for the price. Loaded Bloody Mary took a while for the "bacon and shrimp" garnishes, then came out with no shrimp (which had to be asked for and was brought out later). Food came out at different times, and 4 of us were almost finished by the time the other 3 entrees came out. Soft shells of the sandwich special had funnel-cake sweet batter and 2 of the 3 we ordered seemed like the crabs were past the prime of soft and were hard and chewy. Skate special had a "unique" flavor and texture, but was tolerable. Saved room to try dessert and got both the carrot cake (more like layers of blondie separated by regular cream cheese) and the blueberry creme brulee, which tasted good but did not have a smooth texture. Bussers were great at clearing the table, and brought boxes since we hadn't seen the server. When check came, we decided to pay with cash to avoid the 3% fee. When reviewing it, we found we had been charged for 2 beers that had not been ordered (which we may not have noticed if we had paid by card). The manager was responsive after we were able to get her attention and quickly corrected the check and took the payment because our server did not return. Highlights were the sides of stewed tomatoes and mac and cheese- oh, and the water was good when we were able to get refills.

I've been going here for years. Always a pleasant experience. Wonderful and accommodating staff…read more Fresh food choices with good menu items to select from. I recommend this restaurant to others, who enjoy a good Waterfront Restaurant and good quality dishes.

Ten minutes later, our server said there was a problem. What? The bartender told her there was no entry on the computer for a drink with both vodka and gin. She tried to steer me to another drink. I told her that I and others have been drinking a split Martini for at least 50 years. I told her that wasn't my problem, it was theirs. They figured it out. Also, they were embarrassed to report that they had no crab dishes of any sort. This was January, so, while I understand that live crabs are still sleeping at the bottom of the Chesapeake Bay (that the restaurant sits on the edge of) we all know there are many sources of crab meat. Even if frozen properly (not in a frost-free freezer) the crab will not suffer a lot. Then, there are also crabs from the Gulf of Mexico. Other than these two challenges -- one solved, one not -- it was a nice first visit. I did find that the lighting over the bar -- individual unshaded bulbs -- were hard on my eyes from our table in the dining room, but I just moved to the other side of the table. Problem solved. Easy parking across the street.

"Why did it have to snow tonight?! We're stuck in this hospital...when we should be following that…read moremonster's trail," Roberto DaCosta (Sunspot) shook with anger as he expressed a desire to seek revenge against who or what attacked their teammate, Danielle Moonstar, leaving her on an operating table on the brink of death. "Waste o' time, Bobby, you won't find the critter there," Sam Guthrie (Cannonball), the oldest of the teenagers that make up the New Mutants, responded, "It'll be here." "What are you talking about, Sam? Explain yourself!" "Stands t' reason, ever since we've known her, Dani's had a special fear of a spirit bear she said murdered her parents. None of us really really gave the story much credit, after all who believes in magic?" Sam paused oh so slightly before continuing. " 'Cept Illyana's a real witch, an' we fought demons and sorceresses. Maybe Dani wasn't kidding." Sam shifted his tone to reveal his evidence. "Illyana tells me Dani spent the last week or so in the Danger Room fighting bears! T'night, she walked out into a [winter] storm, alone, armed with a bow an' arrows an' wearing war paint! And got mauled. We were wrong t' doubt her. We should'a listened, we should'a seen the signs." Whenever my wife and I visit a restaurant or bar for the first time, whether we are there by ourselves or--in this case--treated to a meal by our favorite neighbors--I can count on her to sort through, heed, and pick up on every nuance in every aspect of culinary service that is there to be sensed. In this case, at the Dockside Restaurant & Sports Bar at 421 Deale Road in Maryland, the food was mostly wonderful, and the prices were more than reasonable for this economy. What prevents Dockside from receiving at least four stars was primarily the service. Two orders of fries, one sweet potato and one regular, weren't hot; and although our waitress reluctantly brought one of the orders back to exchange it for a new batch, the fries didn't taste any warmer. Our other host ordered his crabcake lightly-fried, only for it to be brought out broiled. He still enjoyed it, but it wasn't exactly what he wanted or ordered. By the end of the meal, it became obvious that, if we return, we need to ask for Sarah, who, although she was tending the bar and wasn't even our waitress, still brought one of our neighbors a fresh cup of Pepsi Zero that she could take on our return trip home. Sarah also exhibited a great sense of humor, an attentiveness and an attention to detail, and, most importantly, remembered with pleasure our hosts, who have dined there frequently. Apart from the pumpkin cheesecake, which was so infused with nutmeg and pumpkin spice that even Linus from Peanuts couldn't have tasted the pumpkin, and the lukewarm fries, our meals were terrific. I devoured the perfectly-seasoned shrimp from the fried shrimp platter; everyone loved their onion rings and their cream of crab and Maryland crab soups; and we all agreed that the crabcakes, boiled and fried, were scrumptious.
