Horrible Apple care service. They refused to let us drop phone off early. No reason makes sense. Then our appointment wasn't honored waiting 40 minutes. Even we asked a guy and he said 4 more minutes and still nothing. Vast vast majority of my reviews are 5-star. Only do 1-star when service absolutely fails. The manager was absolutely incompetent!!! He told my friend and I to "stop yelling at him" and to "calm down" when we simply asked him for a clarification to the situation with my broken phone. My phone crapped out yesterday and I went through the ringer between online Apple support chat, US Cellular, back and forth to burnout. After all options were exhausted, I go an appointment to come here and gave it fixed. Jamilla was a total sweetheart and confirmed that it was definitely a hardware issue. Rather than try to figure it out further or have me sit in for possible repairs, she gave me a brand new replacement. Soooo much better! A group of four other staff dudes entertained my kids with robots controlled by iPads, so they were outta my hair while I was with Jamilla. Long story Probably the worst service I have ever. The only reason it's getting one star is because I can't select zero. Was told by the rep that I would have to send my laptop in for repair. He also said it would be back Wednesday(6/30/21) / Thursday (7/1/21) at the latest. I should keep an eye on my text messages and emails to get status updates. Ok sounds good right sending it back to me via overnight to my house. Monday (6/28/21) rolls up and no updates Tuesday (6/29/21) no updates. Text the support number and they tell me it hasn't left the store. No tracking number to provide. Called Apple same response was given no tracking number hasn't left the store, might leave today. Lady (apple phone rep) calls the store the "Repair Manager" Alicia (not sure on the spelling) says that I should have read the service agreement. I asked her if she ever reads an agreement as someone is standing there telling you when you'll get it back. Replies with "Can't you read?... You should have read it will take 5 business days to get back to you." Extremely rude and disrespectful. Called support back to inform them of the stores terrible service. This time the General Manager (apparently can't read) explains that normally takes 10 days... haha All of this is terrible, I just wanted my laptop back.. If you're Hispanic, Asian or any minority do not go to this Store. First, a Karen was in charge of the difficult task of finding my name at the Appointment list. 4 times I had to repeat my name. Which is French with Hispanic accent. Apparently was too much for her. I had to show her my phone to finally when I was just getting upset. She miraculously found my appointment. Then, the employee was supposed to help me. Without any reason, I still don't know why. Refuse to take my phone on a Trade-in. No explanation of why. Long ago when I bought my iMac I had good service. Polite and courteous people working there. But the last time I went in to get my iPhone 12 I was ignored for about a half hour. I know it's supposed to be a "modern" shopping experience. But I still don't get the concept. I just want to go up to a counter to ask a question and start service. I don't like having to hunt down someone who might be an employee to "try" and help me. Basically. The Apple store in the Jordan Creek mall is kinda like walking through the streets of New York City at 5pm. It's crazy, people everywhere, beeps and sounds going off all over the place, the sounds of Johnny Cash's Ring of Fire over the speakers. It's sensory overload to the max, but I have had nothing but good experiences here. The staff is very smart about the Apple products and very helpful with questions and will take time to talk though things with you. I was way over due for an update on my phone and they walked me though everything and even helped me set up the new phone to restore my settings. Now naturally this stuff is not cheap but I do say you get what you pay for and the staff here does not work on commision so they are just there to help and I got a lot! read more

Amazing, this apple store looks just like every other one in the country complete with an ample mix of the curious to the extra-d baggish. The ipad 2 just came out and I was greeted with not one but 12 lifesize colorful ipads as well as a gentleman in blue who seemed sure apple is the key to happiness and salvation. They make a good product no doubt and this place has the usual apple products as well as plenty of videos that remind you how life isn't complete without "insert apple product here." After standing in here for a while I wonder if they'll ever institute the 2 minutes hate (read about it on ibooks) for everything that outsiders offer. Traveling thru from CA and 3rd day making it into Nebraska, my laptop decided to not work :( after googling and trying to make an appointment (none avail for the following day for Iowa locations) I had no choice but to show up and pray they would be able to see me. When I walked in I was greeted right away. The front door guy told me I would be behind lady in blouse. So because no one else was there, my niece and I went to look at the newer iPhones. Well, we lost our place in line since two other (mom and son) walked in. So don't leave the line since they don't take down names like other apple stores may. No big deal-kind of our fault so we patiently waited. We got to front of line at 12:15, the guy was really nice and took down my info. Estimated time to be seen was 5:15! I was bummed but hey, my laptop isn't working and work needs to be done so we waited. Since it was pretty early, we decided to leave and come back. PappaJohn Park was worth the visit if you like strolling and seeing art. We received a text at 4:30 that they could see us soon. After arriving and they ran diagnostics... they were hoping it was a cable issue. My Mac Book Pro 2012 would not load and I got the question mark folder pop up. DANIEL was awesome and tried to quickly remedy my problem. The whole process from sit down to leaving was an hour. I've walked into this store no less than 3 times with the same issue. A simple behavioral change on the phone. The "schedulers" can't tell me if the change I've seen is because of a setting change I've inadvertently made, or if it's an actual issue with the phone. Let me state that differently. Apple employees here don't even know what's normal behavior for a phone. On top of that, the LEAST amount of wait time I've been given is 3 hours. Yes, 3 hours. I've tried weekends, week days, it doesn't matter, it's always 3 hours. My schedule doesn't allow for me to randomly walk around a mall for 3 hours. And even if it did, you'd best be there when your turn comes up, or you're skipped. I have family near other stores who never seem to have this issue, so evidently this is just a blessing placed upon us here in Des Moines. I STRONGLY SUGGEST GOING TO BEST BUY FIRST and asking question. As much as it pains me to admit it, their employees know more than the first line of defense at this store. I HATE not supporting local business, I really do, but as soon as I post this I'm jumping on Amazon to buy the sound system I was HOPING to buy at the store after they'd helped me out. They're the only ones that carry it locally, so I'm kind out out of options here. The customer service associate today had little interest in assisting with our appointment, tried to get out of the appointment, and in turn we left with a brand new iPhone we had to take to a Verizon store for programming. Imagine that. PC people bash the Apple store in reviews. If you refuse to like Apple products, this probably isn't the store for you. If you are open minded about what type of computer/tech devices you are going to buy, Apple makes some great stuff. But that isn't what this review is about. This Apple store specifically (at Jordan Creek in WDM) has a top notch staff, as Apple stores go. The staff of the Genius Bar are really friendly and great about helping you out. Every time I've gone to the GB here, save for one visit, I've gotten out without it costing me anything, regardless of AppleCare status. They do a great job of troubleshooting, and can usually figure things out without having to take your hardware apart. The Creatives do a great job of showing you how to use your iDevices so you can get the most out of them. And the salespeople generally know what they're talking about. But also, there is a great variety of people working there, so if you need specialized information about an Apple product, the person helping you might not know, but they'll know who in the store HAS that specific information and they'll bring them in. Most of the salespeople in this Apple store seem to be part time, and they have careers doing other work, generally on Macs, so there is a lot of specialized knowledge on staff. read more

Super great store and wonderful customer service. All the iPads and macs and other great Apple products were available to use and test. We were specifically looking at the Macbook Air and the features and whether the 11 inch or 13 inch were better. Having never owned a Mac, we had a lot of questions. The employee we spoke with knew a lot about Macs and was able to help us answer all our PC questions. He even recommended which products to download to avoid extra costs. I'm so glad we came in to talk to a sales associate! They knew a lot more information than I would have found online! I have my Mac now and LOVE it! read more

It is really no different than the others, Apple did a good job of standardizing their operations nationwide because all the store layouts, staff, design, etc is all excellent and identical. Usually there are always a good number of people inside checking out the newest Apple products. I tried to come in earlier than my appointment so I can get in and out. After waiting for 45 minutes, I decided to get something to eat because it's near lunch time...then they decided to notify me (I was told by the store manager after I returned with food), I waited and got hurried service...like hurry up and get out of here...so I took the explanation (got a paper copy) and I left...feeling like less of a customer and more of bother or annoyance. read more

Hello, They have great customer service . I was at fault for being late for my appointment and I drove about one hundred miles to get to the store. The gentleman who asked me my name said that they were real busy that day ,he also said I might have to wait about five hours. I was sixteen minutes late and than told him where I drove from and he said that he would talk to his manager . They took my computer and fixed the problem. I bought a plug from them while waiting for the computer to be fixed. The time it took to fix the computer was unreal because the time I was done buying the plug for the computer ,they fixed the problem. I'm really glad to have gotten such great service. The staff at Jordan Creek were all over the store helping customers even the people who walked in were approached right away. My magsafe power cable for my Macbook had a geyser of flame shooting out of it. Bad News. Good News, Apple will replace it for free. Bad News: I had to schedule an appointment with a "Genius" at the "Genius Bar" 50 miles away to get the replacement. I made an appointment to get my cable looked at at 10:45 on a Saturday. Awesome. I had an hour drive in winter weather that got me there 10 minutes late. Bummer. My appointment was "released" to someone else. Ugh. I could reschedule in an hour! Yes! I sat at on a mall bench for an hour waiting. Meh. I arrived at my appointment on time! But there was a line. I had to wait another 20 minutes to get a new power cord. I know the Apple store is popular, busy and very very cool, but I get the impression that their appointments at the Genius Bar are for their convenience not mine. After an hour-long drive I should have been able to speak with someone for a few minutes and get the new cable without the post-mortem on my power cable and the paperwork. read more

In my case today, I found this "Genius" group to be completely unorganized and lacking communication and professionalism. After making a huge deal about not having the time to drive here from Ankeny twice for two phones to get a battery replacement, we were assured both batteries would be ready for installation at our appointment time. We received an email a few days ago telling us our parts have arrived. When I drove to Urbandale this morning and waited an hour for the store to open, they looked up my information and informed me that they did not have both batteries and I would have to return at a later date for the second (and most important). I wanted to tell the lady where she could shove it, but I refrained. Instead, I told her I will pay the extra $10 and have a local guy do it. My greatest frustration here is that I just paid almost $1,000 cash for a new iPhone because the battery issue and slow response on my old phone. If I wasn't so invested with 4 iPads, 5 iPhones, 4 Apple TVs, a MacBook Pro, and 2 Apple watches, I would burn them all and buy a cheap Samsung or Android product! I'm afraid, and disappointed, this is just what Apple users will forever have to deal with until free market corrects this in the future. This concerns the Apple Buy Back Program I purchased a new iPad and sent in my old one for a credit of $120, but they refused the buy it back - apparently I had not set it up properly for them, which is possible, as I had questions about that process and received no answers to my questions, and sent it back to me. What follows is what I wrote to Apple about this after my iPad was returned. However, when I sent it in, I included the charger cord and connector that came with it when I bought the iPad. When it was returned to me, those items were missing. I assume your "partner" kept them and is using them or selling them when they should, in fact, belong to me. In addition, your partner set things up with FedEx so that someone had to be home to sign for the device. They only would deliver during the week, when we both worked. We were not allowed to ask that it be held at a FedEx point for us to pick up, nor could I switch the delivery to my office. Nor was I allowed to ask for a delay in delivery until I was on vacation and home during the day. So my wife took the morning off from work to wait on the "final try." Had she not done that, it would have been returned to your "partner" and I assume they would have reported to you that I refused delivery, citing the three FedEx trys as evidence, and kept the device as well. Perhaps not, but I have no evidence of good faith in the way the delivery was set up. This seems like a complete rip-off. I am going to copy this and put it in a Yelp review of Apple. I have been a loyal Apple Customer since I bought my first Mac in 1985 (or there-abouts). The way this was handled was terrible. Finally, I assume no-one will respond to this, since I wrote twice expressing concern about the trade-in process and never heard back. So my 4 month old IPhone 8 went on a software bender, nothing worked including erasing & reinstalling backup, so I was going to go through the digital obstacle course of setting up an appointment, not to worry, I was only asked to wait 7 days : ) Immediately went to the Apple store that night, when asked I simply and kindly stated that my appointment was set the moment that my $800 + investments decided to die. 2hrs later I had a new phone. Don't go through their hoops if it's a major problem, just go to their store and plan to be there all day until closing, what more could a customer ask for? After a truly deplorable experience at the Apple Store in Northpark (Dallas), I just have to give a shout out to the Jordan Creek Apple Store. The weather was snowy and a little icy last night, which I knew would mean fewer crowds at the mall. However, I didn't quite expect Apple Store employees to outnumber customers 2 to 1. Amazing! No waiting for help, and plenty of people available to answer questions. After being ignored and treated quite rudely in the sparsely-staffed Northpark Apple Store just two days prior, it was a breath of fresh air to walk in and be greeted warmly, directed where I needed to go, left alone when I wanted to browse, and helped when I was ready to buy. I've visited lots of Apple Stores around the country, and I think we're pretty lucky to have this one in West Des Moines. They never seem shortstaffed, and you can just walk in and talk to someone anytime you want (as opposed to the ridiculous queue system being implemented at several understaffed Apple Stores where you have to check in and make an appointment just to talk to a salesperson). The only Apple Store experience that wowed me more than WDM was San Francisco, which, come on, you've got to kind of expect. I was more than happy to give this store my business, and I walked out with a brand-new laptop. Woo hoo! It was a perfect customer service experience all around. Worst Apple experience ever. We had a call with a service tech and we're informed that my wife needed a new battery for her iPhone 6. The tech did the proper diagnostics and made an appt with the Jordan creek store. When she got there, after driving from 2 hrs away, she was turned away because they were out of stock on batteries. There was no effort to rectify the situation. She was offered to buy a new phone though! Very poor management. Stay out of this store. read more

An excellent location, lots of table space to adequately display the products and a service oriented staff combine to make this store a winner. The staff members really know their stuff and are generous with their time. They are laid back, but not lackadaisical. Questions are answered slowly and thoroughly. The young woman who sold me my Iphone assisted me on three separate occasions before I bought it, and was gracious each time I visited the store. For the few times that I've had a problem with my Apple products, the geniuses are super and can always alleviate the difficulty. If you're an Apple customer, this is as good as it gets. read more
