Surgery Day: I did my surgery at the Rowland Heights location and I was surprised on how efficient the whole process was. I give credit to the team for reaching this optimal point for us. From the front desk staff, assistants, and laser surgeon Dr. Pham, my experience flowed very smoothly as they walked me through their very simple-to-follow instructions. They talked me through the whole thing so if you're an over thinker like myself, this put the racing thoughts to rest. The procedure itself was smooth, quick and wildly painless. I thought blinking would be an issue and even after they explained to me how they numb my eye and keep it lubricated, I still thought I'd have the feeling to blink. Little did my overthinking brain know that it was effortless not to blink. It seems like I've been ranting a bit so I'll summarize that recovery from the SMILE surgery was a breeze. Although my eyes weren't yet fully healed nor at their peak vision, 8 hours from surgery I was able to read from a distance! Incredible! I had -3 & -4 prescription with astigmatism and wasn't able to see anything passed 5inches from my eyes and I was able to read from more than 15ft away. 2 weeks post-surgery and my vision is excellent. 2 months post-surgery and my vision still clocks in at 20/15. Results will vary of course since we don't all heal the same, but the doctors at IQ Laser Vision do a stellar job at qualifying you during your consultation. Such negative reviews listed here are completely contrary to our experience with Dr. Cheng. I will speak for my disabled adult son, who due to multiple disabilities, is unable to speak for himself. Among outstanding medical issues, one of my son's eyes has been 'crossed' for several years; a person typically 'thinks' of crossed eyes as crossing to the inside; but in my son's case, his right eye was completely crossed to the outside--veering off to the right, as if he were observing something to the side with only the right eye, while the left eye looked straight ahead. We had been advised by two different doctors through the years, that nothing could be done to correct my son's right eye; then thankfully in March of this year, we were referred to Dr. Jean Cheng, Ophthalmologist. Following considerable eye testing, Dr. Cheng performed the first surgery to correct my son's crossed eye; this surgery was successful, and corrected his eye approx. 70%. The healing process was long and slow; then three months later in June 2019, Dr. Cheng performed a second surgery which 'pulled' the right eye completely straight forward. Both eyes are now perfectly aligned--100%, and working together!
