    Im an apple fan all the way. Ive also been to a couple apple stores and this one is no better or worse then the dozen others throughout the city. For me this location is convenient because getting an appointment is easier compared to city locations and I could always ship to store for quick pick up. I will say though if you have a complex issue with lets say your Mac, I would opt to bring it to a bigger location in the city where Genius Bar workers just seem to be more knowledgeable of the product and any issues that may arise.

    It's been a few months since I had to stop in for Apple support. I'm only getting around to writing this review now, so some things may have changed since then. Because of COVID, the amount of people inside is limited. This allows for long wait times and long lines outside. Even if you schedule an appointment online, don't expect to walk in at that exact time since they're so busy. What annoys me is the amount of staff they have vs the amount of people they help at a time. Only half of the store is being used, I still think they can open up more tables and still enforce social distance. You count all the people just standing around not doing anything, which is still annoying. They are wiping down stations between each customer and they replaced my AirPods pretty quickly once I got in.

    Schedule your appointment from home because they are busy!! However, Adrian was so super helpful and sweet today!!

However, this time around, I was in a bit of a time crunch and too busy to really sit down and trouble shoot the issue so I did a quick Google search for computer repair services on Staten Island. I called one place and they were unable to perform the basic service I requested so I moved onto the next which happened to be Computer Sam. Sam was able to quickly respond to my text about my request and provided same-day service. He picked up my poor war machine from my house (it is a gaming PC specifically built back in 2010 to play Final Fantasy XIV - 1.0 version) and went ahead to run some diagnostic tests. He was able to find the root of the problem which resulted in needing to replace a component on my motherboard, the BIOS chip, and not my entire motherboard. (In retrospect, I should have known; its boot sequence beeping pattern had changed around the time when the problem began.) He placed an expedited order and a few days later, the part arrived in the mail. Sam quickly fixed my PC hardware and returned it to me just in time before my scheduled Twitch stream where I play Final Fantasy XIV with 7 other friends. Sam is very friendly, professional, and reasonably priced with a fast response time. I tend to have trust issues when it comes to tech support industry since most assume that because I am a female I know nothing about technology and can be easily duped but Sam did a great job fielding all my questions and obtaining my trust. 10/10 Would return to Sam again in the future when I am too crunched for time/effort and need assistance with my electronics.

The screen splintered and the cover came loose; the screen image seemed to wave goodbye before shriveling and disappearing. I texted Sam and he was at my house for pickup, with an accurate estimate in a couple of hours, on a Saturday. This is the fourth time we've contacted him: Blue screen of death, an assessment on another device and a wildly successful overhaul and update on the same laptop l just dropped. Flawless service each time, great attitude and advice. Like having a doctor in the family.

    It is very rare that I will write a bad review. I understand that it can cause the merchant a lot…read moreof trouble, however, Ofer, the computer doctor's conduct was so awful I feel that the public deserves a "heads up." I have used the "doc's" services in the past and did not have an issue but two weeks ago was the beginning of a the revelation of the disgusting behavior of this individual. First, he always asks for cash which I do not keep around and he tells me he has to pay taxes if I write him a check. I'm a lawyer so I'm like what world is this creep living in. I pay all my taxes. He's not from USA and apparently he feels no patriotic duty. Two weeks ago I asked him to check my computer camera and all that I would need to be able to take a Zoom call. He came fiddled with my computer for a few minutes, told me it would work fine and charged me $85. I did not use the computer for a week. When I tried to get on it the computer it would not start at all. I called him and he said he was nearby and would be at my home in two minutes that actually turned out to be 45 minutes. He fiddled with my computer and said it was on Windows 11 (not sure of the number) and that it was incompatible like he had nothing to do with it. I was very pleasant despite the obvious omission and lack of taking responsibility on his part. Ok!!! So he's the person who set me up to fail here with the incompatible upgrade. Next he told me he had to take care of something so he would be taking my computer with him. I told him ok. He brought the computer back and he told me he did an entire upgrade. (I never asked him to do that) and he charged me $300. Ok so just as a reminder folks he had to come back because he messed up my computer AND I never told him to leave. He was free to stay as long as he needed. He chose to leave and take my computer. He told me that he was charging me for two "home visits" when I was never given the option to bring it to him nor did I ask him to leave. Need I say more? Truly "up there" in the most disgusting behavior I have ever encountered in my life. And I will add that I know him from a bible study and he even quoted "love thy neighbor as yourself" while working on my computer while he was there for the first visit.

    I can't give this place any stars. Took my Lenovo laptop in because it would not come back on…read moreafter I put it in sleep. His assistant called me the next day to say that they had not really had a chance to check it out but, they think it's the motherboard that needs to be replaced. They would get back to me. 2 days later I call to see what is going on with my laptop. The owner answers me with an attitude. He says the screen will be in a few days. Screen, what screen? I ask. Well the screen was cracked and needs to be replaced. I said, "you didn't tell me the screen got cracked". Then he says, "I have 4 Lenovos here and I assumed the one with the cracked screen was the most important". I asked, "how would I know you have 4 Lenovos in there"? "I told you my name when you picked up the phone". Then he said, "I think my assistant told you it needs a motherboard". "Your assistant told me it had not been checked but, ya'll think it needs a motherboard". He told me he would get back to me the next day with a price. By mid day, the next day, I had not received a call with any news. I went to the shop and told Steve, I came to pick up my laptop. My laptop was laying on a table, more scratched on top then when I took it in. Steve proceeded to hand me my laptop without the bag or cord. He finally found both. He charged me $50 for nothing. Said he would call me the next day with a price for the motherboard so I could make a decision. The laptop was not even put back together correct. A friend offered to take a look at it later that night. He let me know a few hours later that it was a minor fix. Manuel reset was needed. He did that with a paperclip. Issue resolved. Steve actually called to give me the price for the motherboard, the next day. When I told him what the issue was, he apologized and offered a free tune up. I'm gonna pass on that offer. Horrible place.

My husband brought his Mac to get fixed because it was running slow and was told it would be ready in 2 days. After the 2 days were up they said it would then be ready the end of week. I received a phone call from them and was updated it would be longer and that my screen was cracked which is not how I left my computer or an initial issue that had to be addressed. The owner said the computer would be ready and this time I went to the store. When I got there I saw my computer on the counter with the cracked screen and a post It and the owner said the repair guy never showed up and it would be ready by Monday the latest and offered a laptop which I refused. Monday turned into an additional 2 weeks and upon retrieving the computer they removed the hard drive and didn't save any of my files. With that said it seems like these people are not knowledgeable and incompetent. We are truly dissatisfied with their service and will not be using them again.
