As I use my MacBook to type this I can honestly say that I have always had a positive experience at this Apple Store. I am a bit of a nerd so I haven't had any problems encountering the genius bar. As far as the other reviews go there is one simple conclusion: If you go into the Apple Store then you need to be on either side of a knowledge spectrum. You need to either know nothing or know everything. (I am a "mac-guy" so I have no problem using this store to meet my needs.) If you fall into the middle category, as most people do, you will need to either play it stupid or do your homework... My Advice: Treat any Apple Store like an automotive repair shop.. Do your homework (research, etc.) first and then go in with an idea of your problem and possible solutions. Working on cars and apple products can be pricey, but if you treat them well, they will return the favor. read more

I poured a full cup of coffee into my computer's keyboard by accident. After I stopped freaking out and not having the patience for Apple's automated phone service I sped down to this store. The store was jammed when I showed up. I talked to an employee who sympathized with me as he had the same thing happen to him but with beer instead of coffee. He made an appointment for me at the Genius Bar and I was seen three minutes later. The tech guy took my computer in back, took it apart, did some wizardry with it and came back to tell me I'm screwed. Even though there was no good news to be had he went over all of the different repair/replacement options. He even printed up some paperwork for my insurance company and went over those options too. Not my first choice, as the Galleria store is my favorite however being so close to my office this place is a frequent stop. The store is a decent size, probably half the size of the Galleria store but it is less crowded than the Galleria store. The staff has always been friendly however my choice given the opportunity and purchase is Easy Check via the Apple Store App, it makes shopping a pleasure, wish more stores would focus self checkout like Apple. If you are in need of help my suggestion is to schedule an appointment from their web site, it makes getting in and out of the store much quicker without having to wait for an employee. read more

Smaller store than the one at The Galleria. Although, being smaller, they seem busier. Maybe it is because they don't have the extra staff so it seems busier than it really is. However, I have never seen it as packed as the one in Galleria, and usually my wait time at this location is much less. read more

I wish I could rate this store as a zero as this store does not deserve to have a minimum rating of even one star. I needed to get my screen replaced. I called and scheduled an appointment. After arriving I was told have a seat and wait. I was greeted by someone and was help to get my phone set up for repair. I was told it would be 3 hours and 15 minutes to replace the screen. I returned to pick my phone up. I was told to wait by the Apple Watch sign and have my ID ready and to wait for the person that checked me in. I was waiting looking at a new phone case and a screen protector. I waited for over 10 minutes. My wife seen someone and got their attention. We explained what was going on. A lady named Joann said she yelled a pick up and said my name. As the store was busy I never heard it mind you not the 4 of us in my family was standing right next to JoAnn. She again said she said my name. Odd thing is my wife and two boys were with me. As I was being checked out my wife was talking to me saying it is crazy to have waited as long as we have with the amount of employees just standing around doing nothing. Then this manager Chelsea decided to butt into our conversation and say each person has a specific job. I am an avid iPhone user. My wife was contemplating getting 3 new iPhones for her and our boys. Because of this experience she has no desire to purchase any iPhones at all from now on. our vintage IMac is giving us fits so we took it to Apple of West County. We had an appointment and arrived on time. while waiting at the bar, the guy next to us had the same issue, on his newer machine. our Genius, Laura, was really nice, very friendly & was truly a Genius. Laura ran a multitude of diagnostics and kept us entertained while answering our inane questions. Laura was super cool & had been at Apple for 5 years . Turns out we have to go to a different shop for a more invasive repair. Apple doesn't sanction the kind of repair we need. Laura explained why & gave us options & tips moving forward. Laura is a good tech. I'm glad we were lucky enough to get her. Aside from noise, & parking, it wasnt too bad at West County Mall. read more

I have an iPhone 6, so when the 8 and X were released, I started having constant issues that required a hard restart. I finally did the update (I can't call it an "upgrade"), and then, of course, my battery died after only a few hours of normal usage. At least then Apple came out with the $30 battery replacement; I put in for one, and five weeks later was notified that it was in. I made an appointment to take it in. The drop-off was great, with a helpful, friendly staffer before the store opened. I had to wait (and wait, and wait, because Apple is too cool to have anything like a counter for picking up orders) to check in, and then wait some more to get my phone - but we were finally united by another staffer, this one a woman who didn't seem to care. But my new battery still runs dangerously low in the course of a normal day, so I called back. The staffer to whom I spoke said we probably needed to restore it. I agreed, and made an appointment for Saturday (yesterday) at 10:15. But life intervened; I had to go to a funeral. I made three attempts to call in and change my appointment, but I never again got a human being picking up, or the answering machine that had been there only a week earlier. No, now I got sent to Apple Support. And if you tell them you want to change an appointment, you still have to wait to speak to a specialist. I tried three times (waiting for 20 minutes the first time) and had to quit. Today, a little more than 24 hours after my missed appointment, my phone suddenly started doing the "wait" circle and heating up. I finally called Apple Support and waited (and waited, and waited) and spoke to a technician. I got it restarted, but he said, "You probably need to restore it." And how do I do THAT when I can't make an appointment? read more

3 things that made my experience amazing. * Complete professionals when fixing/repairing iPhones. * Very respectful staff (and how cute is it when they said they need permission for them to handle your device. I found that really funny, and enjoyed it) * All the workers are constantly checking up on you to see if you have been cared for. 3 things that I dislike a lot * so many sales reps and not to many repair experts they just talk to each other while everyone is waiting on the repair experts.. *I waited 20+ min with an appointment, such a pain and annoying. * Really didn't like the seating area, currently it's just blocks of wood in the middle of the store and very clustered, and not too much space to actually feel comfortable. I wish they had something else then just random small blocks of wood. Please note that this Apple Store was super friendly as always, I really do recommend. The BEST service and a No Pressure experience. Maddie my GeniusBar advisor was PATIENT; KNOWLEDGABLE; PROFESSIONAL; and truly just a very nice person. I came with my list of questions to my appointment. I had all of my questions answered. Although I am considering upgrading to a new phone, I felt absolutely no pressure to do so and instead settled for a temporary fix with a new battery. I have also learned a lesson from today's experience, I will only go to an Apple store to purchase a new Apple product! The lady who brought me my phone with a new battery was equally responsive to my questions, friendly, and very helpful. The only complaint I have is so minor it's probably not worth stating, but the cubes you have to sit on while you are discussing your issues and questions are not the most comfortable seating environment in the world. I wear hearing aids but was able to hear Maddie perfectly well even though we were sitting on our cubes in a large group of people who were also talking with their advisers. Maddie FOCUSED on me directly and the interaction was definitely personalized. THANK YOU for helping me resolve my problems with my phone so professionally and so kindly. I have been having an issue with my iPhone where the touch screen doesn't work. I scheduled an appointment with the west county Apple store. I arrived at the Apple store 10 minutes before my 7pm appointment with the Genius Bar. I was told upon registering with staff that I may get served by an Apple genius before my 7pm appointment. At 7:20 I asked if my appointment had been overlooked and was informed they were running at least 30 minutes behind. I informed the staff I live more than 2 hours away and that I scheduled a 7pm appointment in hopes to be home by 10. I finally got helped around 7:35. I was informed that if I had used the express repair option I would have gotten a new phone in the mail in a day (I had chatted with Apple before making my appointment and I was told I either had to mail my phone on or come to a store). But, because I came to an Apple store I had to wait an hour for them to repair my phone. I agreed to have this done as I have to have a working phone for my job. At 8:30 I went back to the Apple store and was informed my phone is done. I was asked to wait in a corner and it took another 15 minutes to bring out my phone. Upon investigation I found some sort of black powder/grease all over my phone. I asked if they would clean it. They took it in the back to clean it and I received it again. Still dirty. At this point I was very frustrated and left without having my phone cleaned appropriately. I have never had a good experience at this Apple store. The genius who first helped me was the only staff member who impressed me. However, because of slowness of overall service and a general attitude that they didn't care I will be shopping for a new phone elsewhere. Probably with google/android. read more

Mandy (store manager?) suggested that I somehow damaged a computer while it was in their possession. Gave them MacBook air with broken space bar, they returned to me computer with broken screen. Mandy seemed to insinuate that damage could have been my fault despite computer working in all ways apart from spacebar when I gave it to them, and was generally very rude. Will never go back... Unlikely to purchase another Apple computer given this kind of customer service. Would advise all Apple customers to take their products to the Galleria if in STL area. Though I can't guarantee your experience will be any better there, it can't possibly be any worse than mine was with Mandy at the West County Apple Store. read more

When I finally asked a worker, they had a terrible attitude and said I needed to be on a waiting list. The first person waiting for an Apple Watch had already been waiting 25 minutes! It's like walking into heaven. State of the art technological wonders await you here if you can afford them. When crowded, finding someone to help you here is challenging, as all the employees are roaming around the store... by design... which increases the chaos. Which employee do you wait to see? I've often stood in a line of 5 customers to see someone who ended up pointing me to somewhere else anyway, so this system clearly isn't working. I've also run into attitude. "We can't allow you to service 2 products on one reservation." Why not? There was no way to indicate my reservation was for more products and no instructions while making the reservation that you would need to make additional reservations for every product you need help with! Crazy. Then, they couldn't refund a return to my Apple Card because they weren't set up to refund the earned Apple Cash back to themselves. Things a trillion dollar company has yet to figure out. For starters, how about a CONCIERGE VIP in a special colored shirt only for people with Apple Care Plus? read more

Genius Bar appointment was made in St. Louis, but the family my son is with took him to the wrong Apple Store. I am just not impressed by the way Apple Stores operate. Undoubtedly, the staff is gifted at solving geeky, tech-y problems - that's not my complaint. The two stars they earned are for abilities... but nothing else. The store is packed with sales associates, many of which just mill about and seem to "look busy." When I walked in and asked for help with my iPhone, I actually had to interrupt a conversation a pack of sales associates were having about getting drunk. They seemed none too pleased that I was asking a question... but really, isn't that what they're getting paid for? Anyway, I was assigned an appointment time to have my phone looked at for later in the day. However, when I returned, I had to wait another 45 minutes to be helped. This was, in a large part, because they somehow skipped over my appointment and went on to people after us on the list. It wasn't until I asked four separate associates about why it was taking so long that someone finally figured it out. This was mostly because we were repeatedly told to just "wait our turn," even though we knew there was something odd going on. I tried to be very nice in the beginning - I know they're busy - but it took me being very insistent and pushy to get any answers. Ya gotta do whatcha gotta do. When I was seated and helped by someone in charge of iPhone issues, she was very flippant and rude. She did not really address the issue; instead of taking her time to really look at the device, she sent us home without doing anything and told us she didn't see a problem. Well, of course the problem persisted and we had to return AGAIN to get some actual assistance. This time, the associate located the problem right away and stated that she did not understand why it wasn't addressed the first time. Look, I'm an Apple fan. However, I think the way the Apple Store is set up only leads to intimidation and frustration - it's stuffed to the gills with people who need assistance, and yet the people whose job it is to assist don't seem to want to help. The staff often come across as rude, flippant hipsters who are generally disinterested in your problems. I don't know why, but the problem isn't exclusive to THIS Apple Store either... it's everywhere! read more

This place was totally packed Saturday. I had an appointment and it took about 15-20 extra minutes to be seen. I guess that isn't too bad considering the volume of people there. Regardless, the employee who helped me was extremely nice and they helped to take care of the problem. Not to mention, there's plenty of stuff to play with and look at while you wait. Update: I had to return to the store since my new phone still wasn't behaving correctly. Apparently, it's hit or miss based on who helps you. This time, a woman who seemed annoyed to be working helped me. The store was WAY less busy today compared to the weekend. Regardless, I told her what was wrong and she asked me, "Is everything backed up?" I said yes and she marched off with the phone without telling me what she was doing. She comes back with another new phone and tells me to erase my old phone. Then, she told me if this phone doesn't work, I need to go to AT&T. With that, she marched away. So, I'm standing there with an unactivated phone. Luckily, I was able to use their WiFi to activate it myself and restore some of my settings before I left. Overall, what a terrible experience this time. I was seriously considering buying an iPad. By seriously, I mean if she'd have been a little more friendly and informative, there's a 75-80% chance I'd have walked out with one. That's why, no matter how insignificant the problem is, you should always be nice to the customer. I'm sure I'll end up getting an iPad, but it sure won't be from here. read more

My battery life on my iPhone 6 is starting to annoy me so I stopped by the store to start the process of getting a new $29 battery. (Side note--why do customers have to pay because of Apple's shady planned obsolescence??) I was expecting to make an appointment and come back in a week, but they said it'd only be about 1.5 to 2 hours. Great! I shopped the mall until I got a text 2 hours later that they were "almost" ready for me and to head back to the store. "Almost" meant I was to sit on a wooden block in the mass of people in the middle of the room for 30 more minutes. Man, did I feel like an idiot sitting there. I'm paying/choosing to waste my Saturday like this?!?! Finally--they call my name! I'm the chosen one!! The Genius instructs me to take off my LifeProof case so he can start running diagnostics. Only then does he inform me for the first time: "There's about a 3 hour turnaround time once the diagnostics complete." WHAT?!? The 1.5-2 Hour estimate should've been 5-6 hours. I complained to the manager on my way out--zero f$@&s given. They're Apple--why would they care about customer satisfaction or value their time? Silly me. Well, guess I'm done with my review. Manager refused to make any accommodation despite my thousands of dollars of apple equipment. Woman destroys Apple Store in fit of rage! News at 9! Ok, not quite, but I'd be lying if I told you I didn't want to drop kick some tablets today. So the story goes . . . Ordered a laptop online for my daughter in college, paid for it, entered my phone number and Apple sent me a text telling me the laptop is ready to be picked up. YAY! Pick up said daughter and head to West County Mall with my 6/8 year olds in tow. This should take a few minutes and then we can grab lunch, no biggie. Walk in, no place to pick up online orders. Ok, wait a few minutes for a worker to great us. Nope. Ok, find a worker that looks like they aren't busy, just got off break, go see that guy over there. Sure, no problem. Holding out phone with my Apple purchase opened on my iPhone wallet (as the email told me to do), guy asks my name, ignores my scanner thing on my phone. "Go sit over there and someone will be with you in a few minutes". Sure, no problem. Sat over "there", for about 15 minutes, nothing. Kids discover the motion sensor charging stations at the table, we're all amused and confused how they work. Kids push on them and they go down. Worker walks over and reprimands us, these are motion sensors, don't push on them. (THIS IS THE ONLY INTERACTION INITIATED BY ANY WORKER THE ENTIRE HOUR WE ARE THERE) 30 minutes go by, I flag down another guy. I get "What's your name"...tap tap tap..."There is someone in front of you, I'll try to see what's going on, no promises though". He goes and helps another customer. In front of me??? I've already ordered and paid. Just give me my computer! Another 15 minutes go buy. I overhear a man complain to a worker that he's been waiting a long time. I go stand over there and watch them. They eventually stop and look at me, I explain my 45 minute wait for an online order that is already paid for. THIS WOMAN GETS IT! She asks to see my email and scans the code they sent (that I had pulled up when I walked in on my wallet), and she goes and gets my laptop, and is incredibly friendly about it. Whew! Over 45 minutes to grab an order that was ordered online and paid for. The "geniuses" aren't so much. The only person in the entire store with a brain was the older lady with dark hair and red lipstick. Look for her if you go, the rest of them are worthless. Google reviews make it obvious management doesn't care, Apple sure as heck doesn't care, they don't have to, the product sells itself. For the love of god, put a counter in for online pickup orders. Walmart and Target have even figured this out. It's not rocket science for you geniuses. I don't want to deal with "customer service", which is why I shop online and pick up at the store. It shouldn't be this hard! If you want acknowledgement in this store just push down on the motion sensor charging station. Although I'm a fan of Apple products, I'm a bit surprised that the Apple Store itself has any positive reviews whatsoever. My experience in this place (limited to hanging out with friends who had Apple hardware issues) has always been awkward at best. The place is always PACKED with people. Why? And these people are just kinda standing around, poking at the Apple stuff. Why are they there? Are they all in a queue for service? Or are they just "window shopping"? I've rarely seen anyone walking out with a purchase. And I can't tell you how off-putting and irritating it is that they have something called the "Genius Bar". They told my husband the same thing that his appointment had been cancelled. He got to the store before 6:00pm and didn't leave until after 9:00 pm. Apple is getting too big they don't care if people have complaints they have all the money they need. They charged my husband $363 to trade his iphone 6plus (charging port issues) for a refurbished Iphone 6plus. When he tried to take it back the next day to try to give back the refurbished phone and use the $363 toward new technology they told him they could only give him $150 of his money back even though nothing was done to the phone or anything else. They are dishonest and not very helpful. Need to learn customer service. read more

Was in St. Louis on vacation when my iphone 5 experienced problems. I took it to this apple store to help restore it. They tried restoring the same way I did at home (got the same error). Opened it up and saw it had been wet at some point and concluded I needed a new phone. Upon returning home and consulting with my corporate phone tech about getting a replacement. He told me to get on iCloud and turn off "Find My Phone" then try to restore. An hour later my phone was fully functional. read more
