Many of the employees at this location are courteous and others look at you like why are you there. Had an appointment to get my cracked phone fix. Waited about 20 mins for my Genius Bar employee. I really didn't mind waiting but what I thought was annoying was that only certain employees are "genius". The others are checking people in or the vast majority are talking, joking and playing around. Just seems like it would be beneficial to the employees and the customers to train more of the employees that are just standing around to be Genius Bar employees..it was more employees standing around than customers. 5 stars on the Genius Bar employees, phone looked brand new. 3 stars for the overall experience. read more

This is more about the company as a whole. Stop explaining why it takes so long to change a battery, I don't care. Stop blaming the consumer for replacing batteries that don't need replacing. DO make sure you have enough staff and product on hand to handle what YOU started. read more

They are terrible with walk ins. I called in to find out if they had a specific phone in store so I didn't have to waste a trip out there. They told me they couldn't disclose that information over the phone, that I needed to walk in. I made it into the store because I needed my phone swapped ASAP before I left for my trip later in the day. They put me on hold for over an hour and wouldn't tell me whether or not they had my kind of phone even though I was already in the store. I only wanted to know if my wait would be worth it or not and they weren't willing to disclose that either. They are not time conscious and very inconsiderate. It was an awful experience and I hope they do something about that. read more

Apple stores are pretty much uniform to each other, and the Ardmore store is no different. I made an appointment for the genus bar the day prior to my visit and when I walked into the store, every employee was with someone. At other Apple locations I feel that there was a clearer way to check in if you already had an appointment. This store had one guy who had his ipad walking around but when he checked in the people in front of me, he just decided to help them and so I had to wait until an employee at the genus bar was free just to check in. My issue was tiny, it was a key from my macbook popped off the keyboard but I just purchased the macbook 30 days prior so I was alittle annoyed at that. The guy helping me was great, he took my compy in the back and 5 minutes later he brought it out, all fixed. And it was free. Which it was going to be no matter what because I wouldn't have paid for something that should have happened with a new compy. Nice store, but if your going to buy an apple product, drive down to Christiana, DE and save yourself some sales tax!! read more

I come here from time to time for the past 5-6 years living in the area. I have a couple of Apple products and there are just some things I cannot fix with the help of the internet and Apple forums. I wish that this location's employees were not the type of people who mostly won't approach you during busy days. I mean these people will definitely leave you hanging if you don't get their attention. Before, in Cherry Hill Mall's Apple Store, no matter how busy it got, they would still make sure to let waiting customers that the wait won't be long or something. Tell me WHY it takes an hour plus to DETERMINE if a charger can be replaced? WHY do you NEED an APPOINTMENT? WHY are people such "product" cattle? This is my daughter's IPOD that needs a new charger, after 5his experience I would NEVER spend money on an Apple product or service. As far as the store is concerned, clean. The staff, polite. I just had my worst experience in an Apple store ever; well, in any store in the US, actually. The chronology: I had an appointment at the genius bar at 5.40 to resolve an issue with my old iMac, I had checked in before my appointment upon my arrival, and ended up waiting for a full hour without anybody attending to my matters. After about half an hour, one staff member let me know that somebody would be with me shortly (other parties had been attended to in the meantime; I am unaware of their appointment times), I unpacked my to-be-repaired 27" iMac and waited. Another 15 min of inactivity later, I approached a different staff member to ask when it would be my turn, and she said I was now flagged and would be next. At 6.35 I alerted yet another staff member. I do not think I had been particularly rude. At 6.40, I packed my iMac and left with my issue not resolved. This Friday night, the Apple store was not overtly packed and during my wait I noticed several members of the staff being engaged in avid chatter amongst themselves, some groups involving staff that was associated with the genius bar just a couple of minutes earlier (I am not familiar with their staffing policy). I remember that I had once visited the genius bar for an appointment and was a couple of minutes late; I had promptly lost my slot. Had to make another appointment on another day. Just yesterday, I had bought a $2000+ new iMac to replace the one I was bringing for repair. Doesn't make any sense to you? No, to me neither. read more

We took my iPad Pro here because it wasn't charging properly. The man who waited on us took the iPad in the back after asking us if everything is backed up. He also told us if what he was doing, a full restore didn't work, that it would be 600 to replace. No more than 5 minutes later, he came back with my dead iPad and said it must be a hardware problem and there is nothing more he can do! We came home and with the help of YouTube were able to get the iPad up and running perfectly. This jerk didn't even try to help me, just wanted to get my money apparently! I went in on saturday to purchase air pod pros as a gift. This store is close to where I live and figured it would be a quick and easy stop. I walk in and ask to purchase, they direct me to someone in the back already helping someone with technical support for a phone. There were at least 10 staff on the floor, no more than half were helping customers and the remaining where talking to each other in groups of 2-3. I ask someone else for help, they again direct me to this person already working with someone. After another 5 min someone asks if I need help, I state for the third time that I just need to purchase ear buds. This person finally says OK, let me get them in the back. Retrieving them from the back was about a 15 minute ordeal. I have been waiting for at least 25 mins at this point. They finally come up to the front and start ringing me out. $249. Best Buy had them in stock and avail for pickup for 180. They could not price match. I asked to speak to a manager. Waited 10 min, manager ignores the employee request and talks to his colleague. Another manager asks what was going on and couldn't even talk to me. At this point I ask if someone else can help me and the employee says no- " we don't price match just go to Best Buy". I walked out completed disgusted. Rude employees, no customer service, an absolute disgrace. The most mismanaged apple store I have been to. read more

I walked in a few days ago without an appointment because my phone was acting strange. One of the employees gave me a few things to try at home. Even though his suggestions helped a little, it still didn't completely fix the problem. I made an appointment for a couple days later. The tech (or genius) Andrew was awesome and completely fixed the issue. He was very thorough, patient, and had a good sense of humor. He was nice enough to voluntarily clean my phone and the case while we were waiting for it to reset. I was very pleased! read more

I've always had good experiences when I go to the Ardmore apple store for repairs to my ipod or Powerbook. Twice I've had the people working the genius bar help me early (as opposed to making me wait for my scheduled appointment) and get me out in a matter of minutes, no matter how old my products are. Anecdotal evidence: My PowerBook's airport annihilated itself last night (seriously, all of a sudden it just went dead and where its meter usually is it said "air port not installed"). I'm a professional geek (web developer who was also A+ certified at one point in her life), adept with macs and pcs myself, so I ran all the diagnostics and configs to try to revive it - to no avail. While I've done work on laptop hardware, I'd rather have the experts do it for me. So I made an appointment this morning and went this afternoon. The technician told me that it was nothing to worry about, PowerBook airports have a bad habit of detaching themselves, and since I've been travelling a lot recently, the constant moving took its toll on mine. So he popped out the battery, pulled out the airport, re-inserted it, and fired up my computer. Voila! Airport working! Wireless connection restored! OH THANK THE SWEET BABY JAYSUS, I HAVE INTERNET AGAIN! (the past 24 hours have been a trying time for me, but I'm stronger for having lived through it.) But they didn't stop there! The technician then kindly offered to clean my computer (my LCD screen was kinda dusty) - in the end, it ended up looking shinier and smoother than the day I bought it! And did I mention that the exceptional service experiences I've had at the Apple Store ARE ALWAYS FREE? I understand Ben B's criticisms with the staff, but I've only had that happen with one salesperson (and please note that in my experience it's been limited to salespeople, not technicians). To the credit of the staff, I think this has more to do with their target customer base than their actual level of expertise. Most of the people that buy macs - yes, even in 2008 - want a computer that works simply. Other than ease of use, the big draw for macs are their more web2.0 and art-friendly features (cameras and the iLife suite, etc.). It makes sense that the staff would emphasize the former over tech specs. Most of their customers want a computer they can work with straight out of the box and aren't interested in high-end graphics cards (how many gamer mac users do you know?) or overclocking their processors or dual-booting with UBUNTU. I mean, I know I'VE definitely never entertained the thought of doing any of those things... *shifty eyes* read more

I have a problem with my apple TV remote. It doesn't work at all. Changed the battery and nothing. I called apple support, they gave me a case number and said I could go to an apple store and swap my broken remote for a replacement. I went to the store in Ardmore, was greeted by an older gentlemen who was very nice but not very knowledgeable. He directed me to a "genius". The "genius" said I had to make an appointment and the wait would be over an hour. There were probably more apple employees in the store than customers. No less than six workers just standing around talking to each other. How can it take an hour for a simple replacement that was already diagnosed on the phone? The attitude by the employees is unbearable. We all know apple products are great but most of the employees at this place think they are Steve Jobs and it should be an honor for the customer to simply be in their presence. They give the attitude that you are a lowly subject and that owning one of their products should be considered a gift from the tech gods that you are not worthy of receiving. read more

I took my year-old MacBook here because it was having trouble booting. An employee opened it up, and within seconds said the entire laptop was shot, and I would need to buy a new laptop. He claimed water damage. As this was quite disheartening, I brought the laptop to Micro Center in St. Davids. Here, they opened up the laptop and actually took time to diagnose the issue. $100 later I had a working laptop. Moral of the story is the employees at Apple either have no idea what they are doing, want you to make additional (and more expensive) purchases instead of fixing products, or some combination of both. Either way, before you commit to anything they suggest, try going to another store like Micro Center for a second opinion. read more

I came here to check out a new iMac. I stood at their nicer models checking them out for at least 30 minutes. At the same time several apple employees walked past and didn't even ask if I was being helped. One even picked up a piece of paper on the ground near me asked if it was mine then walked away. It was an entirely frustrating experience. I wouldn't have written this review but it's happened multiple times that I've been here. I would suggest just going online or finding a certified apple seller as they seem more interested to help and answer questions. 2 stars only because it's nice to see the products in person and the employees seem to keep the store clean ;). read more

Terrible customer service. Had 20 or so apple store employees just staring at customers, and having pointless conversations with eachother. I was able to easedrop on several of these conversations while I waited over an hour for someone to assist me (required very little other than someone to accept payment for a product). These conversations were largerly NOT work related. Finally got tired of being blown off, and interrupted a conversation about their evening plans to see if someone could simply go in the storeroom, pick my product off the shelf, and check me out. Was met with the comment 'you just have to wait until they get to your name.' Asked the two employees who they were helping at the moment....met with blank stares. Just going to order online. This store is a POOR representation of apple @TimCook. Never walking back in this apple store again! read more

Terrible customer service experience for 3 reasons: 1) appointment was at 3:30 (they insist you have one) and no one was available until 3:58 so we stood around for nearly a half hour. 2) We were there because my son's iPhone, still under warranty, was shutting off shortly after being turned on. We had gone to AT&T first and they were helpful and said they thought that Apple would swap it out for us. So I set up an appointment. After the wait, the "Apple Genius" assigned to us said that the "liquid indicator" light was on and as a result I would have to pay $200 for a replacement. She told us she has no way of knowing how it happened. My son takes good care of his phone and I'm confident he has not had it in water. After looking online and talking to a friend who is a Mechanical Engineering professor, it's pretty clear that this "liquid indicator" is a loophole that allows Apple to not honor the warranty. Apparently it's highly sensitive and even high humidity or sweat can change the color of the strip. 3) I talked to the manager who explained the liquid indicator light a bit more thoroughly but she had no real interest in being responsive. When she tried to sell me extended warranty for an additional big charge and I said "You did not honor your warranty, I'm sure as hell not buying an extended warranty" in a casual way she terminated the conversation and wanted to get me out of the store ASAP. Guess they don't want other customers hearing about this apparently continuing rip off. All in all an excessive wait, they ripped me off, and it was unpleasant on every level. If you deal with Apple I'd strongly recommend another outlet. Part of the irony here is that the people at the AT&T store in Wayne were polite and pleasant but had no way to help while the service at the Apple store was poor and they had control but no interest in being helpful. read more

I was so disgusted by my visit to see what was up with my laptop that I immediately got in touch with corporate to see how on earth the D-bag that talked to me could possibly have been trained properly. It was ugly. Let's just say this - if you get the dude with the Apple logo TATTOOED on his BODY (because that's totally cool, right? wrong. very wrong), then Jesus does not love you. Plus whenever I've gone in, it's always been unnecessarily jam-packed with people trying to give Steve Jobs as much of their money as possible. If you are sure of what you want, order it online. If you're unsure of what you want, research it online and then order it online. My visit to this Apple store made we want any phone that is not an Apple. The manager stood by and just watched as people waited for a while to even be approached. He stood and watched as right in front of him elderly people with arm braces and walkers had no where to sit in their 6 available chairs. Clearly Apple likes this "we don't care about you" attitude or simply by reading these reviews, they would have a new manager by now. The Genius Bar people, once you actually get to them, are good. If you have a few hours to kill (even with an appointment), like standing for hours, enjoy being treated with crappy customer service, and appreciate an arrogant useless manager, this is your place. read more

Going to this Apple location was the BEST decision I ever made. I highly recommend asking for Andrew Woods if you need any help, information or guidance with any of the Apple products, because he is amazing. I think this may be the first time I have ever asked for someone's card after they helped me because he honestly surpassed all my expectations of "an apple sales guy". He was so helpful with all the products and accessories that Apple carries, but did it in a way that did not make me feel "pressured" to buy something. I was an Apple liker before this experience, but because of Andrew's compassion and expertise, I have now become an Apple lover. I will definitely be back in the future, and I must say my experience at this location was far better than my one at the King of Prussia location. Thanks again Andrew! read more

Worst Apple store I've ever been in. The employees stand around chatting while customers stand around waiting. I was there to pick up a repair that should have taken an hour. I came back for it and stood in the same spot after checking in for another hour. Not one employee that saw me standing there for an hour made sure my repair was being done or checked on it. I had to block the pathway and demand help in order to get any. The system they are using that Apple had out in place or how they happen to be using it is ineffective and wastes people's time she's patience. If you can go to there next closest apple store, you should! You will thank me. read more

I actually am an avid PC user (**gasp**) and I still have to admit that the Apple store is pretty cool. You can try everything, because there are so many demos on the floor. And the people are so knowledgeable. No huge crowds here, just a steady flow of customers. Definitely a cool place to visit, even if you do prefer PC's. read more

Terrible customer service experience. I had to make an appointment 5 days in advance just to get through the door due to their horrible availability. I showed up for my appointment on time and had to wait for an additional 45 minutes before anyone even spoke to me. Then I was told to repair my phone would take 2 hours and that I could come back later when it wasn't as busy. I did return several hours later just for them to tell me the exact same thing again, they were unable to fix my phone today and that they don't have a "magical solution" and to come back during the weekend. Just a complete waist of my time and the workers just blatantly display that they are unwilling to work/help. Miserable staff with bad attitudes. read more

I got a new iPhone and traded in my old one. They failed to take my SIM card out of my old phone. My new phone was useless. I had to go back to the store to get it. I went another time to get a new phone battery. My appointment was for 5:45(arrived at 5:40) the store closes at 8. They ask for an hour to replace the battery. I was told if I wanted a new battery they'd have to keep my phone overnight because they close soon and were behind. Every time I come to this store I leave frustrated and disappointed. read more

While I have always had excellent experience with Apple support, yesterday at Apple in Ardmore was a whole new world. Multiple employees were rude, nasty, curt, and most unhelpful. I was having my phone replaced under warranty (what happened to Apple quality ...), and late in the evening, they left me fending for myself without a working phone trying to pawn me off on my cellular carrier. I would have expected Apple to see me through the replacement of my phone, and I'm hardly a Luddite - I'm plenty tech-savvy. Long story short - find another Apple store! read more

I've always loved my Apple computers for their user-friendly, artist-friendly design. And now, more than ever, I'm thrilled to be an Apple girl because their customer service is so good. I've always had excellent, friendly service in their store when I had to get my computer fixed, and now when I needed help over the phone I was surprised by how warm and helpful they were. I'm so accustomed to cold, impersonal, frustrating conversations with call centers that I forgot you could actually have a positive experience on the phone with someone you didn't know! This is all to say that the next time I'm getting a computer, I'm going Apple, not only for the great computer, but for the headache and hassle-free help I get when I absolutely need it. read more
