I had my appointment and was billed 1,000 dollars. I was then told they do not take my insurance at all. They refused to listen to me when I explained my son was having pain in his teeth. They drilled a chip in his front tooth and tried filling it. That came out within a week. They did it again and the same issue. I was told not to worry about it, it's fine. His tooth is now breaking down and causing a ton of pain and they refused to help. They even canceled my children's future cleanings. Awful to work with and care solely on the bill they can send you. Terrible experiences.

The office manager explained the cost and the different options. Then sent those options via email. We're still waiting on the pricing with the new insurance. But everything from scheduling to the appointment has gone smoothly. They have a sign welcoming new patients and they write your child's name on it. Even though my daughter is a few days away from 13, when Abby saw her name, she did her smile that says that's cool but I'm a teenager so not that cool. I know deep down she felt special. We are parents in the medical and dental fields, and we were having a problem deciding on an…read moreorthodontist for our child who has some difficult and major orthodontic problems. We had had consulted and discussed our child's case with more orthodontists than we anticipated, and received conflicting treatment plans. Not expecting a resolution, we acted on a recommendation to see Drs. Chan and Chen. These are our experience: 1. They had a busy schedule, but Dr. Chen stayed after hours to see us. She spent more than an hour explaining her findings and recommendations. To use our child's favor phrase "Who does that?" We are health care providers, so we know that this is one hallmark of a doctor who truly cares. 2. Dr. Chen is super knowledgeable. By now we have read volumes of orthodontic textbooks and articles. We have no clinical experiences in orthodontics, but we know much more about orthodontics than maybe the average parent. Dr. Chen's findings were consistent with what we understood about our child's problems and more. Her recommendations were detailed and addressed all of our concerns. Her treatment details not only agreed with the textbooks and research findings, in areas where there were controversies Dr. Chen was able to offer very sincere and clear recommendations. She was not dogmatic about her recommendations but able to offer clear explanations and good alternatives. Orthodontics is very much an art as much as it is a science, and Dr. Chen excels in both. She also offered her experiences in treating her own son about the very same problems as our child had. How reassuring is that? 3. The stuff, from Teri at the front desk to Tori the assistant, were super friendly and helpful. Our child is shy, and they made her feel comfortable throughout her appointments. 4. The office is clean, professional, and parking is easy. We drive a long distance to see Dr. Chen. We decided that she was our child's orthodontist and was worth the extra driving. 5. The practice uses advanced technologies. For example, the xray is digital. Radiation exposure is a concern for us, and digital xray has low radiation. Dr. Chen was so accommodating. She didn't mind using the xrays we got from another office to lessen the radiation exposure to our child. They use digital impression to scan their patients' teeth instead the old fashion impressions. This allows more accurate impressions and comfort for their patients. I could go on and on about how wonderful this office and Dr. Chen are. We are looking forward to getting the best orthodontic results for our child with Dr. Ivy Chen. I will update our experience, and everything so far tells us that we will have more wonderful things to say about this orthodontic practice. We are looking forward to meeting Dr. Chan, who also will be seeing our child. Getting two doctors with their combined experiences and knowledge? Where else could you get that?

I went here when I was 16 for braces because I had a "snaggle" tooth on one side of my mouth and was super self conscious about it. The rest of my teeth I thought were fine but just really wanted to fix that one tooth. After some begging from my parents they agreed and brought me to get braces. Things were great at first, I had to have a tooth pulled because my mouth was crowded and we couldn't get that one tooth where it was supposed to be. No big deal, got the tooth pulled and then got the braces put on. My mom had made it very clear to Dr Mehan that she did not want my teeth altered at all besides you know the braces being put on and them straightening out. I think I only had the braces on for a little over a year, but after about 6-7 months my smile was beautiful! I loved it. My teeth looked awesome and I was very confident about my smile and was excited to get them off because lets face it, braces are not very comfortable, and figured since my teeth looked straight I should be getting them off soon. They ended up saying that I needed a couple more months which I thought okay no big deal I've made it this far. I remember a visit where they were in my mouth with some type of equipment which I assumed was like filing off some glue off some braces that had moved or something, I don't know I just went along with it because Dr Mehan told me it had to happen and again I was 16 so I trusted him to know what he was doing. A couple months later I got my braces off - how exciting right! Nope not that exciting. I noticed now that on the right side of my smile it was not straight, it was straight in the front but one side of my smile went up giving it the look that i had a crooked smile which my teeth were not like this before. I brought this up to Dr Mehan and he showed me that from the inside of my mouth looking up at the teeth the looked straight, I told him them being straight wasn't an issue my smile was clearly going up on one side. He suggested he put some hooks on the back teeth of that side and we would put rubber bands on it to try and "help pull my smile back down", which never ended up working. Ever since I've been self conscious of my smile. I recently brought it up to my mom that I still couldn't understand how I went from having a beautiful smile a few months prior to getting my braces off and then it all of a sudden be crooked. She informed me that Dr Mehan HAD FILED DOWN MY TEETH on that side, without permission of her and she had confronted him about it the day that he put the hooks in the back to try and "pull my smile down". My mother is not a confrontational person and wanted to protect me from being more self conscious than I already was as a young teenager so she never told me about it until recently, which I wasn't really pleased about I really wish I had known and I wished we had gone through with legal action as he went against my parents wishes AND FILED DOWN MY TEETH! So now I have to look into getting caps put on my teeth or something in order to fix my smile which costs a good chunk of cash that I do not have so probably won't happen for a while. I get that there are a lot of great reviews about this place but please just be careful and make sure he doesn't file your children's teeth down without your permission.

Both of my children were treated here many years ago and I find the same consistency now as was then.
