I came to Jakubas needing quite a few fillings-- I knew it was coming and was just dreading it. But my dental hygienist & Dr. Swenson really put me at ease, breaking down the work into chunks done over the course of a few months. I was able to get all the dental work I needed, and for much less than what fillings had cost me at my last dentist downtown Minneapolis. The front office staff is really great about being flexible with scheduling, explaining bills, and helping understand dental benefits. The office itself is very clean & bright, on a busy intersection of Minnehaha & 46th, but there is usually parking in their private lot, and there is always street parking nearby. The chairs recently got massagers in them which I am crazy about-- and the hygienists really work to make you comfortable and make a cleaning a nice experience.

I liked my previous dental office and only switched because there was a convenience gap I wanted to close, but what I've noticed is how thorough and professional these cleanings are. Nice space, big facility. My dentist has been Dr. Hannon and my hygienist has been Sarah, both awesome. They take Delta Dental, and they have two dedicated parking spaces in the lot that the Prince mural looks down on. Recommended!

I would NOT recommend HIM at all, I am writing this review to hopefully save someone else the pain & suffering he caused me. Several months after my procedure I found out my insurance company paid them. I called the office, it seems they received insurance payment & had no intention of reimbursing me. Last week my daughter had a procedure there that I should have been passed to an oral surgeon- and she had a very adverse reaction and we ended up in the ER. When I called the office seeking help-- all i got was their assurance that she just needed to follow the protocol and would improve the next day. It was deeply upsetting episode and htey never checked in the next day to see how she was. I missed 2 days of work, now have over a $10k ER bill and that is on top of no dental insurance for the procedure (the clerk told me she would bill them and maybe they would pay). It was denied but LHD was paid up front. I am pulling all of my family out of this practice- sad because very kind people there but all behind a veneer of push, sell, make money. Feel like they have been bought by a private equity firm.

While I was having the procedure done, the dentist did several other procedures without asking my permission. When I went to check out I was charged for the additional procedures, which totaled $200 above the original quote. When I asked about the discrepancy the dentist came out and offered a 10% discount. They didn't seem to have any respect for the large amount of monetary difference, or that insurance wouldn't be covering it and I would be paying out of pocket for the extra $200. I won't be returning.
