I have been going to Linden Hills Dentistry for 10 years- and all of my family. The quality of dentistry is good, and I will note they also value "friendliness" in a way that feels less genuine and more of a cover for the fact that at nearly every turn- they are trying to up-sell. Last week my daughter had a procedure there that I should have been passed to an oral surgeon- and she had a very adverse reaction and we ended up in the ER. When I called the office seeking help-- all i got was their assurance that she just needed to follow the protocol and would improve the next day. It was deeply upsetting episode and htey never checked in the next day to see how she was. I missed 2 days of work, now have over a $10k ER bill and that is on top of no dental insurance for the procedure (the clerk told me she would bill them and maybe they would pay). It was denied but LHD was paid up front. I am pulling all of my family out of this practice- sad because very kind people there but all behind a veneer of push, sell, make money. I got a quote for several services from Linden Hills Dentistry and checked with my insurance on coverage. Although insurance only covered about $40 of the procedures I scheduled the appointment anyways with the plan to pay out-of-pocket. While I was having the procedure done, the dentist did several other procedures without asking my permission. When I went to check out I was charged for the additional procedures, which totaled $200 above the original quote. When I asked about the discrepancy the dentist came out and offered a 10% discount. They didn't seem to have any respect for the large amount of monetary difference, or that insurance wouldn't be covering it and I would be paying out of pocket for the extra $200. Really feel like I was scammed by this dentist. I asked them if my insurance was covered. They state "Yes". I then find out that they will bill your insurance, but they add on huge costs that no else charges and that your insurance won't pay. The receptionists you can tell have been trained how to answer these questions as they won't give you a clear answer about any type of charges. My husband and I moved to Minneapolis in late 2008. I needed to find us a dentist in the area, for cleanings and for me to see about starting down the roads of braces (yes, as an adult!). A friend of ours, who used to live in the area, recommended a dentist, who didn't have hours that worked with what we needed. I went searching for a practice with Saturday hours (my husband travels out of state during the week most of the time), and found Linden Hills Dentistry on the internets. I called them, and was happy with the call (I put a lot of stock into talking to the receptionists, since they're the voice of the practice when I haven't been there before), so I made us appointments for cleanings. I ended up having to reschedule a lot, but they were patient and very accommodating. We went for those cleanings back in October, and were very happy with the neighborhood and the practice. I was able to get a referral to an orthodontics practice for the braces, and the ortho said that I needed to have one tooth pulled to facilitate the braces. I have strong teeth and have never had a cavity or anything. I'd never had novocaine, for crying out loud! I'm 35! When I had my wisdom teeth removed in WI 2 years ago, I had them put me out completely, that's how terrified I was of being conscious during a dental procedure other than cleanings. I told them that I was a nervous patient when making the appointment, and my husband reminded them of it when they called to confirm. I went in this morning, and I am pleased to report that they were wonderful! Dr. Beuckens is a great dentist, and Casey was her fantastic assistant. They let me listen to music and told me how things would go and made sure I was okay through all of it. It was over in a flash, and I'm sitting here more than 8 hours later, watching tv and I ate some mashed potatoes earlier! I highly, highly recommend Linden Hills Dentistry. I went to this dentist when I was a child (four or five years old) to about the age of eighteen. The work that I received from Dr. Kodie and Dr. Elizabeth Ramsey ruined several of my teeth as well as my mothers'. Now as an adult, I needed to get their work repaired; a crown resulted from a poorly done filling (which I am told by my new dentist, was unnecessary to begin with). As for my mother an abscessed formed due to careless drilling and the tooth had eventually be removed. When we, as a family, brought our complaint to their attention, the staff and doctors seemed apathetic at best. When we did use their practice years ago, our family enjoyed their bedside manner however in the long run this practice is subpar at best. I am truly disappointed I had to clean up their unsatisfactory work. read more

Since I am new to the Twin Cities area, it was very important to me to connect with a dental facility I trusted to ensure the best dental care. I not only found that in Linden Hills Dentistry but the service was great. They were more than willing to work with my schedule and the staff couldn't be more helpful and kind. Dr Reinhold did everything to make my experience comfortable and painless and followed up with a call to make sure I was doing okay. They recommend ways to improve my dental health and I trust they only do the treatment needed at a reasonable cost. I will continue to use Linden Hills Dentistry for all my dental needs. read more

The staff is good However, watch out for the minnesotacare tax. This tax is covered by my insurance but Linden Hills Dentistry didn't submit the tax for payment because they don't have a code for the tax. So I guess it is easier for them to just bill me for the Minnesota care tax then it is to fix their billing system to bill my insurance company (who would pay it - I double checked). Pocket change yes.. but still it bugs me. I won't be going back there just because of the billing issue. read more

I recently lost my job and my two children and I have had dental coverage through Medicaid. I called at least a dozen dental offices that are providers for Medicaid recipients. Not a single one of them would see us. I'm a single mom temporarily in need and Linden Hills Dentistry is the only office that was kind enough to help us out. I've had really great experiences with Linden Hills Dentistry ever since I moved to the area and started going there. I've done a cleaning and three visits for fillings. (My teeth are not great and I had a lot of fillings done when composites first came on the scene and materials weren't great...now they are ALL failing and need to be redone. Ugh.) Dr. Hinke, especially, is quire engaging, gentle, and quick. I was back in my car within an hour for a visit where I needed three fillings! Everyone I've encountered there has been in good spirits and really friendly, especially dental hygienist Jen. Overall, I've been really pleased with my experience. I certainly don't want to go back for a while because of the expense, but when the rest of my fillings inevitably fail, I'll call Linden Hills Dentistry! read more

My wife and I have been going to Linden Hills Dentistry for 6 years now. They're great! Everyone who works there is super friendly and professional. They're high tech (x-rays show up on computer monitors that the patient can see) which I appreciate and the environment is really nice and comfortable. I recommend them to people all the time. Plus, they're located in one of the greatest neighborhoods in Minneapolis! Linden Hills Dentistry is the best. I've lived in San Francisco, Washington DC and Minneapolis, and this is the best dental practice I've been to by far anywhere. They are friendly, professional and they do great work. I've never felt like they were trying to oversell me on work. The office environment is very nice and very clean. They take your comfort very seriously during any procedures. I've used them when I was both in-network and out of network for my dental insurance (my insurance changed, not their policies) and I've never felt like I was paying too much. I was trying to talk my dentist-phobic husband into giving them a try and I told him that everyone deserves at least once in their life to go to a really good dentist, so please just try them. So he did, and he walked out saying it was great and he was only going to go to Linden Hills Dentistry from now on. read more

I've been seeing these dentists for 20+ years. My mother saw them for at least that long and my daughter and husband who is a physician sees them as well. They are the finest dentists I have ever used. We are all health care professionals and very particular about who we see. They never do work that isn't needed or over charge. I brought my three nervous young daughters to this office for a cleaning (and the first dentist visit for my three year old). They were thorough, professional and most importantly incredibly kind and nurturing. By the end of the visit not only were my their teeth sparkly clean, but the girls were chatting up the hygienists and dentist and asking when they could have their next appointment. I was also impressed by the "bedside" manner of Doctor Beuckens who spent ample time with each patient and explained all of the important information to me in laymen's terms. Worst customer service and business practices of any dentist I've ever encountered. This dentistry practice took complete advantage of me and my family and is deeply unethical. My child needed an urgent dental procedure after an accident and we had the work done the same day. They asked for our insurance info and never told us that we were out of network, so we paid the full amount. Of course I found this out AFTER I returned for a routine procedure on my own teeth and we received both bills for several hundreds of dollars. I was floored that they didn't inform me that we were not in their network. Every dentist and health care provider I've ever been to tells you this information immediately, so I can only conclude that the staff at Linden Hill Dentistry are poorly trained or are instructed to suck as much money out of every customer as possible. I was truly amazed at this behavior and would never recommend that anyone give them business. Furthermore, when I asked to have my records transferred to a new dentist, they had a really bad attitude about it and simply didn't do it after repeated requests. Linden Hills Dentistry should be avoided at all costs. They also give a bad name to all the wonderful businesses in Linden Hills. read more

a week and a day ago i visited peter and becky to get a filling in a tooth.. as usual , i was met with gentle reassurance and kind faces and hands..this filling was more like a spa visit as opposed to a dental visit. both peter and becky gave me a choice of music to start the trance in my brain to avoid the discomfort and potential fear that goes with the pain of dental work.. then i was gently numbed in my jaws with a topical before novicaine was administered . the application of the filling was painless and quick .. i was dumbfounded at the speed of the treatment.. and then i walked out of the office and went on my way.. i tell all my caseload to choose linden hills.. easy , loving and gentle..and always comforting.. my grandson at 18months was able to be curious because of the staff.. and for the first generation to approach dental work as healing versus painful.. thank you peter and becky and jen... kathleen read more
