My sandwich had the thick kind of bacon, so it's harder to make it crispy. There was a lot of bacon on the sandwich. Also came with soup and fries. I liked my meal. My wife's omelette looked dry but she said Thats the way she likes it. We had a $30 Clipp certificate and the bill was $29.27 so I had to spend an additional 73 cents to get the discount. I've been going to this place for 10 years and never had a problem. Today everything had changed so much that I assume they are under new ownership. None of the wait staff seemed to know what they were doing, especially our server. Never smiled even when we walked in and she was seating us. Got my order wrong, said she thought I wanted something different even though I had to clarify three times what I was ordering, and then tried to overcharge me. I asked to speak to the manager who was extremely rude and aggressive. When the server brought my corrected check back I asked who the owner was and I was told it was the man I had spoken with. We've dined here many times, usually for breakfast, which is pretty good. We decided to go for lunch, finding the restaurant pretty empty. Our server was nice, but the service was the worst we've ever had there. She never came back to check on us until she dropped off the check, but if she had, we could have let her know that the bacon cheeseburger my hubby ordered, that had a ridiculously small piece of bacon, was undercooked. Sunday breakfast at Apple Villa quaint diner with lots of different Tiffany style lamps throughout. It was our first time here, we used a groupon for decided to give it a try. The house coffee was delicious and I didn't know it was organic until the bill listed it was. They have loads of different pancake options and specials. They are only open for breakfast and lunch and can host private parties in their party room. Service was very good. Our table wasn't the cleanest it was slightly sticky and my knife was not clean. I asked waiter for other knife and she was great apologetic and quick. We had the chorizo no skillet skillet and breakfast flatbread. The food was great, prices are affordable, and made fresh. Horrible service! Recently dined at the Batavia location and was extremely disappointed. Started off with returning several glasses due to lipstick stains and chips on the cups. Server was new and not as familiar with the menu which is not usually an issue until the bill came and we noted discrepancies. As our orders came out we repeatedly had to state that was not something we ordered. Finally after a bit of time everyone in our party received their food. Due to the prior mix ups on their part we anticipated mistakes on the bill and of course there were. What we didn't anticipate was how rude and unprofessional the manager/owner and some other staff members would be when we voiced our concerns. They did not want to budge over a minimal amount and the police had to intervene. Ridiculous, especially since we were ready to pay the large bill after the items we never ordered were removed. What's happened to good customer service and honoring and respecting people patronizing your business! Please do yourself a favor and do not dine at this location. We had a large group of people dine with us, which is why we called ahead to let the restaurant know and prepare. However, we were initially served dirty cups and plates. One cup even had a lipstick stain still on it. We each had to repeat our orders 3+ times to the waitresses, but they still served incorrect dishes. 3 plates were brought out with food that no one in our party had ordered. So, we sent them back before they could be placed at our table. By the time we all were given the correct food, we were charged for all of the incorrect orders. We asked the staff to please remove the incorrect dishes from our bill, but the owner marched over and tried to gaslight our group into paying for what was not ordered. The worst part was that we were the only minority table at the restaurant, and it became obvious as to why our service was so terrible. To summarize: The food was late, the staff is undertrained, and the owner is openly prejudiced towards anyone that does not look like him. read more

Our waitress (Crystal) was clearly not experienced enough to navigate a table of more than 2 customers, which is more a reflection of ineffective management than anything else since it was their choice to understaff a large party. Once you get past the subpar customer service and missing food items (including entire segments of the order multiple times), the owner turned out to be an abysmal, flat out liar when he didn't get his way while trying to charge the bill for things that were never ordered. Booth seats are worn-out duck taped and cushions are so bad that you feel the boards underneath the worn out cushions. When questioned upon pick up, staff acknowledged their mistake and refused to remake the entire order. We came in with a large group on a Sunday morning. Seated relatively quickly, given the size of our group (15 min). And pleasantly surprised to be seated in a banquet room which was perfect. The food was great, Generous portions. The only thing was that they used 2 servers to handle our group of 13, and submitted the order separately so there was a good 15-20 min gap between both tables getting served, and splitting the check was overly complex because of it. 1st time ordering from this place and absolute last! Placed an order over the phone for carry out. I picked up food and immediately brought it back to the office for my co-workers and I. My co-workers food was fine! However, my food was the biggest disappointment ever! They treat their employees terribly. I was there earlier this year and one of the buss girls tripped and fell. Instead of asking if she was okay, they stared and laughed at her. If i were her, I would never go back. That is NOT how you treat YOUR employees. They work so hard for you and that is what they get in return? We went here on a Sunday morning, at 10am. Typically a busy time for a breakfast restaurant. Our party of 6 was seated right away. We ordered and soon after, the food starts coming to the table. Two of our meals are brought to our table...waiter disappears to get more. At LEAST 5 minutes pass before two more plates arrive. This is went the waiter leaves and comes back with a Mickey Mouse pancake..."this is on the house since the omelette is taking so long. About 10 minutes later, here comes the omelette. Then the waiter says to the only person that hasn't received her food, "oh did you order something." This question was asked BY OUR WAITER...the guy who TOOK OUR ORDER. By the time the rest of us started to eat, the food was cold. Finally got the last plate of food. All good was average, at best. I walk in to Apple Villa for the first time seeing a sign proudly declaring they were voted to have the best breakfast in Kane County. I told my server that I love Benedict's and love crab cakes, and asked her to guess what I would order. She correctly guessed the crab cake Benedict. From there the service went downhill. She brought me my juice and then returned with my food asking if I would like ketchup or hot sauce with my meal. "Both" I replied. She came back literally a minute later with neither, but loaded down with an order for another table and asked me how my meal was, in passing. Fine. I assumed she would return shortly with my condiments. I waited so long that my food was getting cold. Never saw her until my meal was completed, and it was time for the check. I am guessing the food would have been great, consumed hot and even better with ketchup and hot sauce. Don't judge me for my penchant for ketchup. The Benedict is served with a side of hash browns.
