Briana's is a chain that operates 7 diners, all located in the western suburbs. This was our first visit to a Briana's. We found the dining room to be bright and clean, but rather plain. The menu is extensive but all of the breakfast and lunch offerings are straightforward basic diner food, with nothing trendy or inventive beyond a smattering of Tex-Mex items. Kudos to our server for providing friendly and efficient service, but our meals were underwhelming. The soups of the day were chicken noodle and navy bean. Both looked exactly alike, except that the former contained noodles. Now, I love navy bean soup, but theirs was thin and watery, and I counted fewer than 10 beans lurking in my cup. My Philly steak wrap was no less disappointing. The meat was tough, overcooked and dryish. There appeared to be more wrap than filling. My Missus ordered the "Papa Sampler." From the menu description this sounded like a take on Denny's Grand Slam breakfast, offering various egg, meat and starch options. Generous portions? I'm afraid not. The smallish blobs of food on the single plate ranged from unexceptional to ordinary (except for the turkey sausage patty, which was inedible); and "Papa" surely would have balked at receiving only one small biscuit. read more

Just ok food. My omelette contained slices of processed American cheese and it tasted awful. I would not expect that a "senior breakfast" at $18 to have cheap cheese as an ingredient. A friend said her sandwhich was listed as having Gouda cheese but it was also processed American. Another friend said her food was just ok. Our server waitress was awesome though. She had everyone's order correct and prompt with our separate checks. If I ever return I'll order something simple like oatmeal or pancakes. read more

I've been to two of their locations now. Yesterday, went to Batavia location. I got the Greek skillet and subbed chicken for the lamb meat. I wish they had mentioned there was a $3 charge to sub chicken, but I was surprised when I saw my bill. As a former server, I always mentioned any uncharges to customers and asked if ok. Hadn't been to a good diner in a while and was really in the mood for some griddle hash browns and Briana's came through great. Stopped in by myself around noon on a Wednesday and the restaurant wasn't empty but had a fair amount of empty tables so they seated me at a booth. It's not a gigantic restaurant but there is a good amount of seating. Started with a cup of good coffee and decided it was a little late for eggs so I ended up going with the Turkey Club. I went for the deluxe option so it came with an option of soup or salad and choice of a side. The salad was full of fresh, crunchy vegetables and greens and the Italian dressing was decent too. The sandwich was big and tasty with thick slices of Turkey and fresh tasting lettuce and tomatoes and also came with a little cup of slaw and a pickle spear. The hash browns were the exact style I was in the mood for--thicker shreds of potato that are crunchy on top and fluffy underneath. Generous portions meant I ended up only finishing half of my plates. Server was nice and checked in without being overbearing. Brianna's is a great traditional diner that I feel could be one of the more reasonably priced breakfast and lunch spots in Batavia's Main Street corridor. read more

Asked for a Classic ham & cheese omelette POINTING to it on the menu, but the bill came showing a Create your own omelette which is $3 more. This spot has lots of tables outdoors and they're all covered which is great in the heat we've been having. They do an excellent job with social distancing and everyone wearing masks. We did a Sunday brunch here and we each had the Senior special. The servings are very generous, the price was very reasonable and the food was well prepared. My co-workers and I ordered food to go. It was good and properly prepared. I ordered the Berry Crepes and very filling since 3 come in an order. They were good but disappointed that they didn't put pecans which we paid for! This is the 2nd breakfast place in the last 2 weeks that I've experienced this. Customers pay for extra toppings/sides and the cooks don't add them. How frustrating!!!! My co-workers got Strawberry Crepes with side of extra crispy bacon, orange juice, Philly skirt steak sandwich with fries and side of soup of the day. Their food was good and prepared as per order. Hope the cooks do a better job of properly fulfilling customers orders in the future. Nothing is more disappointing than when you don't get what you pay for!!! We came here as part of our 4th of July. I have wanted to try this restaurant for a while. I could see that this is a popular restaurant because it was busy even on a holiday. We were greeted warmly and seated promptly. Sandi ordered pancakes with bananas. I chose the Denver Omlet made from Eggbeaters. First time here from Vegas. We stopped by after visiting a friend in Batavia and she recommended Briana's. I highly recommend the berry crepes with the cream cheese icing instead or the berry drizzle. There was absolutely nothing left on my plate even my 12 and 11 year olds plates were clear. Pancake houses can easily fall into the "seen one, seen 'em all" category but that doesn't mean you should avoid them. In fact, Briana's is one to consider for breakfast, brunch, or lunch given what it has to offer. A friend and I had lunch here with the kids and everything went off without a hitch. There was a decent amount of the dining room filled with other patrons but they were more than willing to secure us a large table (given that there were two adults and four kids). I could see the initial reaction from many as we were seated, something along the lines of "oh... great... kids...", but a combination of our children being very well behaved and the staff doing a wonderful job made everything go swimmingly. Not only was our waitress Johnny-on-the-Spot with taking our orders, delivering our food, smiling/entertaining the kids in passing, or providing addition items (napkins, to-go boxes, the checks), but she was ridiculously friendly! You could tell that she got a kick out of the smiling faces and the fact that it was a "daddy's day out." The food was tasty and the prices are right were they should be given the portion sizes. And, as I said, the staff is wonderful! This was a quick "audible" pick by us and it turned out to be a delightful experience. I highly recommend Briana's, you won't be disappointed. read more

I'd give zero stars if I could...the greeter just stood and looked confused, they decided after a minute to sit us, mind you, there were open booths. Got seated, never greeted by a server even though staff walked by. I'm pretty picky when it comes to breakfast places! However, this one gets 5 stars because it was clean! (You wouldn't believe some places-eww) the service was wonderful! And the food was tasty. I do get super overwhelmed with menus that have soooo many options. However, my trip to Briana's was different. I didn't see my dish on the menu- it was suggested to me by my waitress who said the chilaquiles were finger licking good! I took her advice. They were pretty good! It had great flavor! And who would have thought that a pancake house in Batavia, IL would have this dish! My friend got a side of pancakes and shred them with me. And I for one am also super picky about pancakes! I have stuck to water and placed my order, which was 3 eggs sunny side up, with hash browns, Canadian Bacon and sourdough toast. I also wanted a side salad. It did not take long for my side salad to come out. It was decent, your typical garden salad, nothing too special, but good enough. My main meal came out shortly thereafter. The hash browns were excellent! Lightly pan fried, deliciously tasting. The Canadian Bacon was prepared just right as well, lightly pan fried, making it taste perfect. The eggs were done really well too, I don't know how they make it, but the yolk was running (as it was supposed to be in sunny side ups), but at the same time it was tangly, not quite runny enough. Brianna's is a favorite spot for my family mainly because the location is good for us, food is pretty good, and overall good service....one of these places that just have everything like a Greek diner. The coffee definitely needs work but we enjoyed our eggs, the fruit is fresh, eggs cooked as we asked. Silly but useful highlight is that they bring POS to your table to accurately get your order and also allow you to process a credit card at your table..... it's very efficient. We rode our bikes here on Labor Day and there was no place to park the bikes. They need bike parking, as they are right off the bike trail. We ended up locking 4 bikes together without attaching them to anything. We arrived around 9:30 and most of the tables were empty. We were seated right away, but the place filled up quickly after that. The place was very clean, including the bathrooms. Our server was attentive and friendly. The menu is large, six or eight pages and has both breakfast and lunch items. We all ordered the Baby Sampler for $6.95: 1 egg, pancakes and choice of bacon or sausage. Although the menu states 1 egg, you actually get 2. I ordered my eggs over easy and it was definitely over hard, not a drop left for dipping. The bacon and the pancakes were good but nothing spectacular. I also ordered a side of hash browns and those were very good. The food took a little longer than necessary to arrive, but we didn't mind since we had lots to talk about. My bill for breakfast with coffee was less than $10. Pretty good deal for all the food on my plate. This place has only been open about a week, so I'm hoping they improve since most of the issues were minor. read more

Briana's Pancake House just opened in Batavia. Apparently it is their fourth location. It is nice to see another new place in the growing Batavia restaurant scene...if you can call it that. Unfortunately, Briana's breakfast and lunch focus is mirrored by another long-established eatery not more than 100 yards away. Being opening Saturday, the dining room was pretty full when we arrived. Fortunately we got there early in the day and were shown immediately to our seats. The menu is rather extensive. Which was nice to see. My wife chose berry waffles and I selected something called The Country Breakfast. It came with two eggs, two biscuits and gravy, smoked Polish sausage, and hash browns, which I ordered extra-crispy. Unfortunately when the food arrived my hash browns were anything but crispy. They were a semi-warm pile of potatoes. And they were the warmest thing on the plate. The gravy on the biscuits had congealed. Both the eggs and sausage were also cold. Cold Polish sausage. Fun. I would have said something to our waitress, but, after she dropped off the food, we did not see her again until after we had completely finished our meal, the table was cleared, and another ten minutes passed. My wife's waffles were fine. She even commented on how fresh the berries were. By the time we left the place was packed and people were waiting for seats. For our two meals, coffee for my wife, and a surprisingly large pineapple juice for me, the ticket was $38.00 and change. I realise it was their opening weekend. So we'll go back in a few weeks and see if things have improved. But for now I can only give them three stars. read more

Ordered a simple combo breakfast with a side of biscuits and gravy (because I'm always on the lookout for good biscuits and gravy!). Eggs, bacon and French toast were excellent, the gravy was kind of sweet. Someone else may like it, but I prefer my sausage gravy a bit more savory. Also, that side had cooled off a bit before being served. Service wasn't great, I never saw the server after she plopped the food down on my table. I understand their is a labor shortage, but there was absolutely no checking in, despite the server walking past my table every single time she went to the kitchen...apparently not much of a multi tasker. Waiting for my check is a huge pet peeve but I'll probably stop in again some time. read more

I came to Briana's with my family on a trip to Illinois. I got the berry pancakes, and the fresh berries were delicious. The pancakes were delicious and so was the bacon. Everyone that got pancakes loved them, but anything else was not good. Service was slow and they were clearly understaffed. The coffee was also not good. I love so much about this restaurant and we used to go two or three times a week but one thing really bothers me - which are the booths. I'm choosing other places now because of it. They need attention! They are so uncomfortable. If the owner sat in each one they would immediately repair them, because my guess is people don't go back because it's hard to sit in them.
