Had terrible service here. Came in and our server corrected me and my friend multiple times on our orders. Couldn't take a simple order down: eggs over easy and hash browns. Had food delivered to us twice that wasn't ours. A sever spilled syrup on my fiends shirt. My fiends pancakes, the top of the pancake slid off the pancake- never seen that before. Too much water used? I almost had OJ spilled on me. My food was hard. We talked to management, all management did was get us a different sever. No discount. I had a very disappointing experience at Buttermilk. The service was extremely poor. It seemed like there were not enough servers, and staff kept saying they were too busy to take orders because they had too many tables. We waited a very long time just for someone to take our order, and overall the service felt slow, unorganized, and frustrating. On top of that, the food quality has dropped significantly compared to previous visits. We ordered the Holy Molly, and it came with literally three small pieces of meat, which was very disappointing for the price. As a customer, it feels like the restaurant may be trying to reduce costs, and unfortunately that appears to be impacting both service and food quality. I understand restaurants get busy, but in this case the experience was far below expectations. Between the long wait times, lack of attention, and noticeable decline in food quality, this visit was very disappointing. Best biscuits ever!!!!!! Took home a 4 pack this time for our bbq dinner and will keep making excuses to get them. Food is great. Stuffed biscuit is my girls favorite but I try and get something new every time. I'm a Benedict lover so I branched out for the Brisket skillet with hatch chili hollandaise which honestly was not hot but had great flavor. I had them put it on the side just in case. Absolutely wonderful! First time at Buttermilk and I'd make it a staple visit if I lived closer to Geneva. Our hostess for breakfast was wonderful - kind, attentive, friendly and made me feel like I knew her for years (thanks Melissa!) So many breakfast options available, something for everyone to eat, and gluten free options! I settled for the mountain house skillet which was so good, probably the best skillet I've had in a long time. My husband had the classic eggs Benedict. The beef tallow angle is what drew me in, but the execution doesn't match the marketing. High-fructose corn syrup maple syrup and ketchup kind of defeat the purpose. Walked into an almost empty Buttermilk but the hostess refused to seat us anywhere other than the worst table in the restaurant because it was that servers turn for a table. So she put us on a 10-15 min wait (while there were 15 open tables) because she said when another table in the servers section opened up we could sit in that booth. My return to Buttermilk was so much better. It's amazing how one different dish can change one's perspective. Service and atmosphere remained the same. This time around I had chilaquiles, one buttermilk biscuit, and one honey biscuit. The chilaquiles came big and hot with crispy chips tucked under two tender sunny side up eggs. You've got my attention when you serve up a dish with non soggy chips. This entree was savory and packed with flavor coming from the salsa, the chipotle crema, and pickled red onion. I also appreciated the generous amount of cheese given which slightly held everything together. I happily ate every filling bite and took the biscuits home for later. Both biscuits were different in flavor and texture. The buttermilk was sturdy with a crisp exterior and fairly dry on the inside. This type of biscuit is perfect candidate for breakfast sandwiches and will hold up to most moist ingredients. The orange juice seemed to be fresh squeezed, if I understood the menu properly. The menu offering was extensive but not overwhelming. Prices are high - so if you're looking for a cheap diner, this is not it. I went with my toddler and got french toast, orange juice, and two sausage links for myself, and a kids combo plate for him. Our total came to $41 before tip, so I'm not sure I'll be back too often unless I have some cash burning a hole in my pocket. The service was prompt and polite! Our wait time was about 5-10 mins so not too bad, our service was just decent he checked up on us and made sure we were taken care of. I got the B to the G with the E which was pretty good but it is very heavy for sure. My friend got a waffle with strawberries which was 16-17 dollars which I found insane. Considering it was one waffle and a handful of strawberries. I also got a brown sugar shaken espresso with vanilla cold foam which was pretty nice. I've been here before and I do like coming here the restaurant is pretty cute and the place is nicely decorated. I usually prefer the Geneva one since it's closer and in a better location. Came here for a holiday breakfast. The restaurant is spacious , bright and clean. The menu is extensive and they offer a variety of breakfast items. Our party ordered a variety of dishes- bennys, egg dishes, omeletes and skillet I had the classic benny and the english muffin was a bit dry and compared to the other dishes the slice of canadaian bacon was very small. All other portions were very large and most had leftovers. Everyone who ordered coffee was provided an individual large coffee pot, which was efficient. The ambience, food and service there is delicious but I routinely order salads and every /other time they leave something off, last time it was the cornbread croutons AND feta, the time before that it was chicken and another time they put extra bacon which made it crazy salty and left off avocado. It seems like a money-saving sideshow or an incredible coincidence. I gotta pay more attention next time - usually yakking with a group and don't realize it in time. First, this place is not baby friendly. After waiting 45 minutes for a table we were placed in a high traffic area and told we couldn't have the high chair where it was. So why put us there? Not sure where to start. Been here before and it was really good. New ownership? PE firm take over? It's Sunday but the wait was very long. We waited for an hour and half. They told us it would be long wait at least. We got squeezed into a small table towards kitchen where we weee constantly being bumped by the staff. Overall, service was really bad. Which is disappointing. Food was not much better salads were mediocre at best and the pancakes were super dry. Be the looks of recent reviews something is happening. e've been to Buttermilk (this location and Naperville) many times, but today, the service was actually pretty terrible. We joined the waitlist and made a note to breakdown our party: 3 adults, 2 kids, one infant that needed a high chair. When we finally got sat (many open tables while many people still in the waiting area) our group was sat at a large booth. I had to grab my own high chair since no one brought us one. About 30 minutes in, after slow service and failure to take our order when we asked our server if me could please put our food in, the manager came over. She told us that our high chair was a fire hazard and that our baby (8 months old) needed to sit in a booster seat in the booth. We were not offered another table where our baby could have the high chair (the safe option here), AND the restaurant was at fault for seating us in a booth without a high chair in the first place. It was pretty bogus. The food has generous portions (or you could say you get $20 worth because that's the price per plate), and most of our meal was delicious. But because of the service here, we will steer clear of this location in favor of Naperville. read more

The biscuit was different than the usual one you expect (not that different is bad). It was more like a stale square croissant. I had to use my steak knife to cut through it. The ratio of biscuit to gravy was off. Scant amount of gravy (with very little sausage bits) to barely cover the hard biscuit. The biscuit could definitely used double the amount of gravy. Cubed potatoes were a good amount but nothing special, I decided not to waste my calories on them. Everything was just warm, gravy had started to congeal and egg whites rubbery. Looked like it waited a while before being delivered to the table. I appreciate having a coffee pot at the table along with water carafe. The bill for 3 of us was over $70.00 with my 2 companions only having water as their beverage. I've come to the realization that I'm gonna pay more for everything these days, but I would appreciate getting higher quality of food for my hard earned cash. 2nd time here, 1st review as a Yelper! This restaurant is tucked away in downtown Geneva off W State. It's not hard to find, so no excuses! They remodeled since the last time I was here. The remodeling looks great. My fiancée and I came for breakfast before the craft show in downtown Geneva. I ordered the blueberry and lemon pancake stack, a side of bacon, and a side of fruit. You get a lot of food for your money! I was stuffed. The blueberries were really sweet, and I loved the lemon flavor in the pancakes (I may have to try this at home). The hostess and waitress were quick and friendly. The food came out out hot and fresh. Parking can be tricky since the parking lot is oddly shaped. I recommend arriving early in the morning if you can. Be careful, there are people thag like to whip around in the parking lot, so watch out for those cars. When you're done with breakfast, take a walk through Geneva and do some shopping! read more

Stopped by here again for brunch while visiting family. This time I tried the Blackberry Brie French Toast and a hot Cookie Butter Latte. Everything was on point. Our server was an absolute doll - I didn't catch her name though. Great flavor with the blackberry French toast, the brie was not too strong and was perfectly balanced with the sweet and tart of the blackberry. The latte was amazing. The honey butter biscuit starters are also amazing especially with the raspberry jelly. I will absolutely be back the next time I am in town.
