I would not use this store. If you need an Apple store you should use the one in Estero. Last week I purchased a new Mac Book Pro and found the sales techniques very deceptive. I selected a lap top and agreed on price and configuration. When it came time to run my card the number was $349 higher than what we had just discussed. They explained that this was for Apple Care that this would cover the transfer of data from my old computer to my new one. At this point the whole process was similar to buying a used car. Just as when you buy a used car all you want to do is get off the lot. I paid for Apple Care and left rather unhappy about the whole experience. After several days passed I called Apple Care to transfer my data. Apple Care then wanted another $100. The technician explained that the $349 I paid at the Apple Store did not cover any actual service. I've used Apple products of decades now and this was the worst experience I'm ever had. It may be Apple but I tend to think that it's just this one store. I've had really positive experiences at other Apple stores. I'm not ready to give up on Apple yet but I have given up on the Waterside store. read more

The manager and the rent a cops they have out front are the most disrespectful and ignorant people I have ever met. I came there to get a product serviced and it was over 90 outside and because I have a breathing issue and can't wear a mask was told to put it on or stay outside like an animal. They told me they do not care about the Americans Disability Act and they are above that and do not have to adhere to it because they are a private business. I was forced to wear the mask and then the manager stood next to me the whole time and when it slipped down under my nose got in my face about it multiple times. There were others there that their masks were doing the same thing and nothing was said to them. HORRIFIC CUSTOMER SERVICE and the fact Apple doesn't care about the ADA is appalling!! read more

Had to call I asked him to call rather managers twice. They came over and one was good the other one was just as bad as Christopher. Worst Apple Store I've ever had the displeasure of visiting. First, a disclaimer. The blame for my horrible experience is largely the fault of CrApple Corporate decision makers who've severely handicapped the staff. These Corp. fools worship a stock price, not customer experience, like Mr. Jobs did. I was there to replace my permanently-damaged iPhone, under Apple Care. The rep quoted my wait as "15-20 minutes" & I should walk around the nearby stores, until I received a text on my Apple Watch to return. After 30+ minutes passed without a single text, I walked back in. Rep stated they did, in fact, send a text. When I showed my Apple Watch screen to the rep, explicitly showing no text from Apple, his response was "oh, it's because your phone was destroyed and Apple cannot send you texts via SMS, so now your wait is 30-45 min" -- knowing I had a small child with me. A rep finally appeared to assist, stating they had no iPhones like mine in stock, but claimed he would process the claim through Apple Care for me. He left for a while and never returned. Another rep came over and it was like the first conversation started over, but stated I would have to call Apple Care to initiate the claim -- they could not do so. Obviously, without a phone, this would be impossible. Btw, the first rep left my phone on a table, 30 feet away. To circumvent this insanity I bought a brand new iPhone so I could handle Apple Care and had AT&T activate the phone (who only took 10 min), then called Apple Care and they took care of me, very quickly. BTW, the Phone I bought at the store was JUST LIKE MINE. Funny how they magically found all their stock. I've owned Apple products since the Green Screen days. We miss you, Steve Jobs. read more

I've just had the best Apple experience in my life Thanks to Genius Christopher R. ! After a repair went awry in Sarasota, I've spent three months, 1000+ miles 40+ hours drive-time checking my Mac into stores all over FL that couldn't reproduce an overheating/wi-fi problem-- Miami Dadeland, The falls, Brandon, Tampa: those stores were so big and busy I could tell they weren't able to dedicate enough time or patience to troubleshooting my computer's problems. Chris at Waterside really listened to what I had to say and was connecting all the dots with the symptoms and my use. I felt like he was the first person to believe there was an issue. He went above and beyond to correct not only the problem but make up for all of the run around and confusion I've been through by caring about it. He took on my computer as if it were his own. My phone died while on winter vacation. After waiting one week for my appointment time, I took my iPhone with a striped screen into the Genius Bar. They told me it was a defective display and it would take about 30-45 minutes to replace. I returned in an hour and they tried to get me to do the walk of shame as they told me I had a non Apple screen on the phone and they would not touch it. Well, I already KNEW that since I had a friend replace it with an iCracked screen just last December. They scolded me for not coming to Apple first. I told them that we don't have an Apple Store where I live, and took my wounded phone and left the store. I started negotiations withiCracked to try to resolve that issue, and just kept my phone on the dresser waiting for some solution. You can imagine my surprise while taking the case off, the entire screen lifted off! The "GENIUSES" didn't even bother to put my phone back together! LAME! And disrespectful! read more

Great staff! I went in with a dead computer. There were problems with my credit card. There were all kinds of obstacles within those two problems. Everything that could go wrong was going wrong. The guys here were super friendly and knowledgable. They helped me overcome the obstacles, suggested ways to work with my bank, and did everything they could to get me out of there with a working computer. And they succeeded. Less than five stars is just not paying attention to the quality and level of staffing. I always get the feeling I'm dealing with the actual Apple folks from Corporate. These employees are ultra-attentive to incoming patrons and I've never left the store with any unanswered questions or unresolved concerns. Today - came in with an iTunes family account conundrum that I couldn't figure out on my own. After about 10 minutes, the employee figured out just how to resolve this uncommon situation. (My 15 year-old "mistakenly" used her mother's birthday when registering, making her not need to ask permission when making purchases on my account. Had to change her DOB but didn't know the correct answers to her security questions, etc.) Whether a hardware or software issue - the Apple Store makes everything all better... read more

Visited the Apple store again a few days ago, I was in the area so thought I would run in and make an appointment. But my timing was right on that day so I was immediately helped. My questions were minor and I made a purchases. Yes, I do have a life and very demanding career but I know what I need and schedule to fit into my time frame so that I stay relaxed. If you know how the system works you will put your visit to the Apple store first, make your appointment, unless you made it on line, do your other shopping first and run in for your appointment. Apple support is outstanding, I call from home and talk to a tech, on some occasions they have connected to my computer remotely. The techs are savvy,very patient and speak english very well. Other well known companies have foreigners on the phone that you can not understand; very frustrating. Although I have had my iPhone for many years you could say that I am a recent convert to the entire Apple system. read more

I called their local number to see if they had batteries for my phone. It sent me to a national tech line where I was on hold for ten mins. The guy at National could not tell me if they had batteries. He said he could make me an appointment. However, they had no appointments. He said he could call and ask if they would make an appointment. I asked if he could ask if they had batteries. He said no. Useless. So I went to the store. I waited 10-15 mins to see someone. He said I could have an appointment for three hours later but that I would have to leave my phone overnight. I have a relative with mental illness and could not leave the phone overnight. He said they were not making appointments by phone or online so I would have to come back as a walk-in tomorrow to make an appointment for later in the day but it would take possibly 1 1/2 to 3 hours to change the battery. Or I could make the appointment for next week (when I am supposed to be out of the country) and hopefully they would have batteries. I might have considered upgrading if this hadn't been such a horrible experience. I think it's time to change phone brands. Since it is obvious that they don't care much about keeping customers, they won't care. read more

The Waterside Shops Apple store is certainly smallest among the many I've been in. Their customer service is always fantastic. The staff is sharp and efficient which is nice to have with a smaller sized store. In and out trips such as today for me are always pleasant and quick. read more

What was an awful experience with my computer crashing to having to purchase a new computer because the Apple update crashed all my data. This place gets crowded so be patient. That said, the staff are all welcoming and not at all pushy. They never try to sell you the newest device. And answer your questions clearly and calmly. The worst part about it? The other customers. They roll their eyes and complain about the long wait. Yes there is a long wait sometimes but that is only because people walk in and expect no wait. When I had to return to the store a second time because the replacement phone Apple had provided me the previous evening wasn't connecting through my carrier he took me in right away and worked with me until the problem was solved, even contacting the carrier for me and making sure everything was connected and on line before I left. After I had already been to AT&T, they informed me that my phone had hardware issues and that I needed to take it to the Apple store to get a new one. Let me state for the record, this store is either poorly managed or understaffed! I showed up at 10:10Am, was given an appointment for 10:40AM....at 11AM I asked what was happening. This, after hearing the "lead tech" tell the customer next to me, "the store is almost empty today"....good grief, what would it be like if it were busy. Lots of employees standing around doing nothing....what's up with that, was the manager out to an early lunch? Then, the young woman that did finally help me around 11:20AM was unapologetic and flip. Today I had an appt. at the Apple Store to learn about my new I Pad. Due to weather conditions my drive to the Apple store took over an hour. I just made my appt. in time. About 45 minutes into the lesson I needed to use the restroom. I was told that a restroom was not available. The mall was not open yet so I had no choice but to leave and find a restroom. During the 45 minute lesson I did have I felt the instructor may have known a great deal about the product but was not a very good teacher - most of the women there appeared to be age 60-70+ and most were not keeping up with him. I think I will go on line and see what I can find out or sign up for a class through the Lee County Adult Education Program. Genius?.......well maybe...but not a people person. TIP: If YOU sign up for a class make sure to use a bathroom, somewhere, before attending your session. Or you can always wear a depends --- maybe the geniuses do! read more

So when it was time to go pick it up, they told me it would be about 30-45 minutes longer. Okay I can wait. I went back 30-45 minutes later still wasn't ready. I have had so many Apple products fixed in this Apple store and have never experienced something like that. It wasn't even a complicated fix. Every one of the employees could tell I was getting pissed off. If you don't know exactly when it's gunna be finished take a phone number and call or text that number when the repair is finished. I almost gave up ALL hope talking to Apple's Customer Service line for my broken apple watch and someone mentioned going into the store is so much better than dealing with apple over the phone- and they were 100% correct. I went to this Apple Store location in hopes of purchasing an auxiliary cable for my car. Not only did I leave with nothing, but I also had to endure the arrogance of one of the Apple employees. I'm no Apple expert by any means, but their was no reason for this guy to make me feel inept. His passive aggression made me so uncomfortable that I could not get out of the store fast enough. The service at this store is a reflection of the manager I had asked could any of the three or four people standing around could help me. We had pre-paid online, just needed to pick it up and be on our way. He explained to me that just because everyone was dressed the same they didn't do the same thing...
