My Dad loves this place...personally I hate it, but he was driving so.... The food nor service is never up to par ever! There is a big hole in the ceiling near the bar, watch your step or you will trip over the water bucket. The service was horrible.... Took the waitress atleast 15minutes to take our order. We asked for extra napkins, and after about 10minutes she finally remembered to bring us some. Suprisingly my meal was OK...I had the Thai Shrimp Salad, too much cabbage instead of lettuce in it, but otherwise it was tasty. It took about 20-25 min to get the meal. I suggest to never go when you're hungry and to have patience when you go. They need some better management and training! read more

Horrible service by the greet staff. Graduation night and didn't plan for families to eat afterwards? Not enough cooks or waitstaff. Half the tables were empty. Waited an hour with no update on status then left after trying to speak with a manager. Zero stars ! I wish I could give Applebee's a zero star, they don't even deserve that one star. The service tonight was the worst. I believe it was the worst service I've ever had in a restaurant. Our server was April R and she acted like she could careless about us. We ordered our drinks and got half of them and when I asked for the remaining drinks her response was "Oh I didn't think you wanted your drink". Our appetizers finally came out by another server who had to do her work for her and they were cold. Our food came out not too long after the appetizers (also by another server) and was prepared wrong with the wrongs sides. She never came back to our table, we had to be served, rang up, and cashed out by the manager. Our meals were discounted for the inconvience and a lot of people around us were also having to get their meals comped due to awful service. I will not be back to this restaurant. Wow! When my feet stuck to the floor the entire way to our table I should have know there was going to be a problem. The floor was nasty... I mean I've seen cleaner bathroom floors. The service left more to be desired. Ordered a draught bud and I watched it sit at the bar 10 minutes before I reminded my waitress she needed to bring it to me. Food was over priced and over cooked. Wife got steak & I got the $9 buffalo tenders that I guess are nuggets now. Ordered a 2nd beer. This one never got to me. From the outside looking in, it's poor ownership / management. Horrible! Husband ordered brisket enchiladas. The menu showed 3, he received 2. Not that it matters, because within 3 bites he made a disgusted face and spit out the meat. My husband is NOT picky and I've never seen him send back a meal in 12 years. He said the meat tasted like chemicals. Upon a quick Google search, it seems this company has complaints nationwide about a chemical taste in their food. Received no compensation. I really don't think management cared. My pasta was barely warm, tasted like a microwave TV dinner, and later upset my stomach. Will never return to any location. read more

The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is the food had good flavor. First time I've been to an applebees in at least a year. Now I remember why... first we got sat quickly (i noticed the decor inside hasnt changed in as long as I can remember) some waited for a waiter .... they have the little computer things on the table so after about 15 mins I picked it up (it was sticky and gross) I pressed the call server button and it litterally shut down. So we waited some more until another waiter come by I got his attention. Asked him to get us a waiter. Another 10 mins go by before he actually shows up and he has the personality of a stick. Order food and drinks at the same time. It comes out in a normal amount of time. Food portion was mediocre but it was good and hot and tasted good. So I order a desert (blue ribbon brownie) it takes prob 15 mins to come out. It was ok nothing special. So we ask for checks and he brought us one we asked it to be split 2 ways. This tool another 20 mins. Now keep in mind it's a Monday night. They're are not even remotely busy. Never did the manager come to the table. We laid and left. For the price vs the quality of the service and meal, I will not be returning. read more

Came here for dinner. I ordered a burger and what i got was a smashed flat, cut in half piece of shoe leather with only part of what the menu says it comes with, on it. I asked for the waitress who had no idea what was supposed to be on the burger so instead of helping she just went and got a manager who seemed just as perplexed by my question. He told me they were out of the missing ingredients. Most restaurants if they out of something they will tell you instead of bringing out some halfway baked piece of garbage hoping you dont notice. He took the food and got my new order which came out hot and quick. The other major gripe i had was that through all this not once did the server, or the manager for that matter, ask anyone at my table if they needed a refill even though everyone had been empty since just after the appetizer. So about 45 minutes give or take a few minutes. The table had a bet going on that our server was so oblivious we might make it all the way to our check without getting a refill, which we did. More then once if we needed something and were tired of waiting i had to pry the waitress away from her phone to get any service but after the food issue we didnt see the manager again and the server once when she brought our check. Overall a terrible outing. Lackluster management and even worse servers. Thanks but no thanks Applebee's. read more

Had dinner here Christmas Eve. Expectations were low. It was walking distance from our Hotel and the only place nearby open until 11:00. Our server was awesome. Darien kept the drinks coming . Got our food out quickly. Changed the TV channel. And entertained us by bashing the New England Patriots. Really nice fun guy. The food was okay and we all were pleased with our choices. read more

I was there recently with a large group (teacher cadets) and I personally loved the food, and the waiters and waitress that we had. Even though we were such a large group, they served us with a smile, and our food was on time and delicious. I loved the atmosphere and I will definitely come back, but with a smaller group next time. all in all, great experience. read more

I ordered online and called to tell them I was running behind. I asked if they could cook two orders of fries that I would pay for as I do not like cold fries. The lady said, "Well we are going thRough shift change so you can ask once you get here." Um, then why the heck did I order curbside to go and by then everything else will be cold. Save your money. I did speak with the manager as the waitress working curbside was upset that another staff member would take it upon themselves to answer for her. When you work in the customer service industry, you cannot act like that. What if a RN (I'm a nurse and hospitals are scored based on customer service) was taking care of your family member and said, "Well, it's shift change so your loved one cannot have resuscitation efforts performed until after shift change." That would be a major lawsuit and the RN would no longer have a job. Sheesh. Thankfully the manager is going to have a power meeting to talk about this. If you cannot handle being in customer service , find a job where you work on an assembly line (nothing bad about that but at least you wouldn't have to deal with the public). read more

My husband and I took my mom and our granddaughter out to eat 7/4/17. We were seated by a rowdy bunch at the bar. We were told our server would be right with us and no one came for a while. The manager stood back there watching and finally got someone to come over to us and get our drink order. Then a server by the name of Taylor came out to help us. Took our appetizer order and then left. We waited again for a while, all the while the manager ignores our table, never speaks to us to say sorry, what can I do to make this better, anything. The place was NOT busy. One of the servers was very busy chatting with friends (which just happen to be part of the rowdy bunch). The hostess that seated us and that took our drink order ended up taking our food order too. After waiting more time the server comes out to tell us that they do not have the steak that my husband ordered and he had to reorder something different. So we wait and wait and wait and then my mom's order and granddaughter's order came out. Then when they bring my husband's order they tell me that they over looked my order but were fixing it now. We spent way too much money for the service we received. It was very disappointing that they manager never even apologized to us. He went out of his way to avoid us. Went in on what appeared to be a slow night but to them it was busy. It took an hour to get appetizers and then promised that the food would be bagged and out within the next 15 minutes since I had to leave for work. This Applebee's was HORRIBLE!! There was no host to sit us, we eventually got tired of waiting and just sat ourselves at the bar. We sat at the bar for at least 15 minutes before the dirty dishes were taken away from the people before us who sat there, and then waited another 15 mins to even PLACE a drink order! Unfortunately, the bad service didn't end there.. The food was horrible, and we had to wait OVER an hour for a batch of chips to go with my queso! When the bartender said something to the manager about where our chips were, the manager yelled at the bartender in front of us and the other guests saying they needed to make them fresh because they'd been "out for 5 hours"..... The food was good, and the service was good, but I'm in a quandry about whether or not to report our waitress to the manager. I had eaten a large burger for dinner at home with my father earlier in the evening, so I wasn't hungry, but I was with some friends and they hadn't had dinner yet. I ordered a couple of appetizers for myself and ate it all-- I enjoyed it. My friends ate very slowly because they were talking a lot, catching up with each other because they hadn't seen each other in a few years. By the time they were finally done with dinner, I ordered a small dessert and ate it all. When I got my bill, I saw that the waitress had billed me twice for the dessert. I decided not to press the issue, because my overall bill was not large, and based on the news that Applebee's will be closing a number of locations, I figure they must be hurting for business and I decided to let the extra $2.79 charge slide. I calculated my tip based on 20% of my inflated bill and rounded up, coming up with total of approximately $21.50 for the bill and tip. Feeling generous, I put $22 cash in the folder and told the waitress to keep the change, so my actual tip was over 23% of the inflated bill. My friends paid with credit card, so I had to wait for them to get their cards back. When the waitress came back after running their cards, she gave me a receipt. I look at the receipt and see she entered in my payment as $20 rather than $22, showing a gratuity of $2 and change when it was actually $4 and change. What am I supposed to do now? I don't wish to cause trouble for her, and I'd meant to leave her a nice tip despite being billed twice for my dessert, but I'm upset that she made it look like I stiffed her with a 10% tip. No, I gave her a 23% tip in addition to giving the restaurant an extra $2.79 plus tax for a second dessert that I never ordered and never received. read more

I don't normally go through the trouble of going online to complain, but last nights visit warrants a major blast! I have been a customer for 10 years at this particular Applebee's on Whiskey Rd. Last night started with trying to order online. My account was no longer available and I would have to sign up again. Didn't want to do that. So I viewed the current menu online and wrote down what I wanted. Called the "Carside to go" number to place my order. My call was not answered, and it went to the fax machine annoying sound. Let 5 minutes go by and called again. A young lady answered on the third ring, and I placed my order for Brisket Enchiladas with a side salad, and a Raspberry Lemonade. She said it would be ready in at least 10 minutes, that is the normal time. I waited 15 or 20 before going to get my order. I literally live 1 minute away. So I went to get the order and pulled into the pick up area. Another customer was there waiting for their order. I was parked for 10 minutes before seeing a server bring that customers order out. I was not seeing ANY activity inside the restaurant as far as Carside orders. I now have been there 20 minutes and a young lady finally came out and asked had I been waited on yet. I said no, and that I had been there 20 minutes. She went back inside and she came back out about 5 minutes later with my bill. I gave her my CC and she went back inside. I didn't see her for about 8 more minutes with my food. I signed the CC receipt and went home. I opened my bag and pulled out the side salad first. It USED to come in a full sized black take out container. This one was in a white dessert container. About a third the size I was used to. I also used to get two dressing cups, this one had (1) 1/2 cup portion! Then I pulled out the Brisket Enchiladas. They smelled awful!! I put my tiny salad in a small dish and added my tiny dressing. Sat down and starting eating my Enchiladas. The were ice cold! It was also like eating beef jerky thrown into a corn tortilla, the meat was awful! I ate my small salad that I paid $3.49 for and threw away the Enchiladas! I spent 22.00 bucks for a few mouthfuls of salad and a lemonade! This was definitely my worst experience there, but not the first time I have had a bad one. This one broke the camels back though!! I am done with Applebee's on Whiskey Rd. and will pass my story along to everyone I know that go to it! It have drastically declined over the past 5 years. It used to be a great place to go with a fast and friendly wait staff and great food. NOT ANYMORE!!! Save yourself some money and stomach cramps and avoid this place!
