1 Star Unfortunately, this was my second disappointing experience at Applebee's. The first time I visited, the service was already poor--I had to flag down a waiter just to get refills. I decided to give the restaurant another chance, but this visit was even worse. I walked in and was not greeted or acknowledged at all. The manager made direct eye contact with me while speaking with an employee, yet never acknowledged me or offered any assistance. He then walked over to another table and continued on as if I wasn't there. I waited approximately 15 minutes without receiving any service whatsoever. What made the situation even more frustrating was that the restaurant was not busy. At that point, I simply walked out. I understand that restaurants can get busy, but completely ignoring a customer who has been standing/waiting for 15 minutes--especially when the establishment is not busy--is unacceptable. After two experiences like this, I unfortunately WILL NOT be returning. Management really needs to address the customer service at this location. read more

Ill start with walk in and first thing hostess didn't know where to sit us. Tough call, only one table used, rest wide open. Walk into resturant and first table never cleared. Order food which was good but was quoted waffle fries were 50 cent upfee. Get the bill, $4 added for fries. Advertise half price appetizer and very limited selection, guess it's whatever they have rotting in the freezer. Asked to see the manager and she came over with a attitude, told her I wanted corporate number, she said look it up on line. Asked for her boss and hers wasn't much better. I can't do anything for you and after mentioning bait and switch is illegal, she said I don't care. She gave me her bosses number and he never returned my call. By far the slowest service I have ever received. We were in the restaurant for over 2 hours for 2 simple meals and dessert, no appetizers or alcoholic drinks. There were only 4 other tables so it's not like they were busy. The food was not horrible but not worth waiting for more than 2 hours. Needless to say, we will not be returning. I've seen faster service at a funeral home. 4 servers, 3 tables and 2 at the bar. Empty tables weren't cleared. Went for the AYCE wings and took 20 minutes after each order for it to arrive. The food was delicious! We both had seasoned chicken with mushrooms and onions and shrimp. It was served with garlic mashed red skin potatoes. We chose tomato basil soup as well. For an appetizer we chose onion rings. Service was excellent and I'm sorry but I can't remember our server's name. She was happy and very attentive. I wish I could give zero stars. Sharing our experience so you don't waste your money. This is the 2nd bad experience we've had in a row at this location. Visited last night and it was not busy at all being a Friday night. Took over 20 minutes to just get our drinks bc the bartender was MIA. Barely enjoyed our apps before the food came out & my husband's was not what he ordered. Called it out & the waitress said she would fix it. Food runner flat out told us waitress entered the wrong thing. Our party of 5 was finished with our very plain, not seasoned meals while my husband still waited for his. He told the waitress he no longer wanted it, just for her to bring it out bc the manager "insisted". We then asked for a manager who was not at all apologetic, but blamed her food runner for being "unprofessional" bc she told us the truth. They took his meal off but we still spent $50 for 2 people on an experience that was all around bad. We won't be back. read more

9/27/2022 6:15 pm. Not impressed with the value of my food. Oriental Salad missing the grilled chix. Called to update the Beloit Wi location. Told a replacement would be made avail to pickup. Drove back and was given 3-4 oz of grilled chicken - no salad. $14 for a poor, lackluster salad plus running back for the chix - NOT WORTH IT. Cmon shift mgr - pony up for the errors if you can even get ToGo orders anymore with such small portion sizes. Not returning anytime soon. read more

I ordered the Bourbon steak....Horrible. Very tough and even with a steak knife very hard to cut. Dry mashed potatoes, asked for butter and was charged .75. Told waitress about the steak and she didn't offer to do anything about it. I should have sent it back. Won't be going to Applebee's again. read more

Stopped in for lunch, service was outstanding. Michelle was a great hostess and was so friendly and welcoming. She also found my wallet that I dropped on the floor. Had a great waitress who kept coming back to check us. I had to ask if this place had just opened because everything was so clean and new looking. Clean bathrooms, and it didn't have that musty old carpet smell that a lot of places have. The food was fresh and came out fast. Can't think of a single improvement. Waited to be acknowledged, when we weren't I asked a server for help- TWICE- and still know help! We got up and left and I told the same gal that she should have gotten us help and she actually said she told our server and that was all she was responsible for! It's hard to make too much of a comment on an Applebee's, I mean hell it's an Applebee's. The comments I can make: 1. The service is always relatively good. We tend to sit at the bar area and get the same group of servers. The biggest advantage is that you get your drinks faster. 2. After the renovation the interior looks nice with lots of TVs and updated furniture. 3. They serve local and seasonal beers for a decent price. 4. You cannot beat the $1 dessert bites. It is the perfect quantity for an amazing price. 5. Half price apps after 9pm is a great deal and is available 7days a week Overall I'm not a huge fan of the food, but it's a nice place to hang out after 9pm and is especially fun for people watching in Beloit especially on weekends read more

My family and I have eaten here a few times and it is never anything special. It's an Applebee's so microwaved food is what's expected. I have had decent service here but have also had my ordered messed up a few times. Again it's an Applebee's. Went to have lunch here today and they would not let us in unless my one year old daughter wore a mask. I get following the mask mandate but requiring a one year old baby to keep a mask on is absurd. Definitely not a great experience. Had to go inside for my Car Side To-Go order. I got the 4 Cheese and Honey Tender Mac & Cheese and it was terrible. The breadsticks were hard as a rock and tasted like they were cooked in a fryer. I travel for work and I like certain chain restaurants in order to have consistency in what I eat. We ordered some appetizers thinking that a simple order would not take a long time to arrive at our table. We watched as others that arrived after we ordered received their meals before we did. We stayed at a hotel across the street for a night and needed some takeout. It was after 9, so we had to go in to pickup, no big deal. I ordered a chicken pasta, my wife ordered shrimp and steak and our daughter a kids grilled cheese. The staff was friendly but the food almost inedible. Upon pickup, I was informed they had no utensils for takeout. Luckily our hotel had flimsy plastic stuff that lasted a few minutes while trying to cut the steak. My pasta lacked any semblance of flavor and seemed small in portion. There was a good amount of cheese but it didn't help. The shrimp and steak was ok, but since we had no utensils it was hard to eat. Also upon pickup, we were informed they had no more potatoes. Mashed was the next thing up, but it too lacked flavor. A hungry kid will like any grilled cheese, so she was fine. Basically the experience was lackluster at best. The food was even worse. My boyfriend ordered a drink and we could hear them behind the bar saying it was "soo gross" (he ordered the shark bowl). We stopped for half appetizers and ordered the combo. I absoloutley love this Applebees. The ones in Rockford, IL don't even begin to compare IMO. From the perfect onion rings, to the perfect steak, to the unbeatable prices, I love this place. I've probably been here over 50 times, always order something involving steak, and have never once had it arrive under or overcooked from my request (usually medium to medium-well, depending on my mood). I've never had an unfriendly or inattentive host while dining here. In fact, the only reason why I give them 4 stars instead of 5 is because for some reason I find that the soft drinks at most other restaurants taste better, and it's usually quite loud (something you shouldl however, be expecting if you're going to Applebees or a like venue). Of course, their other beverages (alcoholic, tea, coffee, etc) are on par with other restaurants I've been to. read more

Worst meal of my life. They were busy at the time of my visit, so I expected somewhat of a delay and that would have been okay. I ordered only 2 appetizers, and waited over an hour for them. When the food arrived it was barely even warm. I had to flag down a greeter to even get a drink or straw. The food was awful, especially since we waited almost an hour and a half for just 2 appetizers I would have thought it would have been hot! Have always loved Applebee's since I was a kid and have never been disappointed eating at one. I always get the chicken fajita roll up without any pico de gallo and it is amazing especially with the southwest dipping sauce. I typically substitute fries for their rice pilaf simply because I feel rice is a better choice than fries. If you're looking for a nice meal Applebee's will not disappoint read more
