Good place for business lunch. Service was friendly and fast and food was hot and fresh

Always a great destination ride for our group in warmer weather. Food and beer selection is nice but the human portion of the equation is really what keeps us coming back. To be fair there are many choices in area with great food and beer selection- but the current staff (especially Sarah ) really makes the difference that matters most when we decide where we stop.

Fabulous smash burger! Had Swiss cheese and grilled onions added and this was amazing on a grilled bun. Sweet potato fries were good and crisp. Staff were attentive and friendly. Hadn't been there in a while and they had remodeled and it was beautiful in there.

I read on Poison Ivy"s facebook page, "new menu." The Iowa Pork Tenderloin is the same as what I was used to growing up, so I had to try. I recommend this to you. We were greeted as we walked in, and the waitress was so nice. She got our order and we just relaxed while waiting. The menu had great selections of salads, burgers, and a great choice of appetizers. We knew what we wanted and forced ourselves not to change our minds. We will return. The waitress asked if we would like some cheesecake for desert. My husband and I both were so full. It sounded so good, but we had to pass on the desert. What a nice spring day to have a great lunch at Poison Ivy Pub in Roscoe IL. Prices were average $12-$16 per person and so worth it. They have a full bar. I hope you try this place.

Poison Ivy is a great place for both drinks and food. I have been coming here for about 10 years, and the consistency has been present since day one! Whether you're looking for a place to hang out and have a few drinks after a long and stressful day, or if you're looking for a nice and intimate space to have a decently good meal at, Poison Ivy is ALWAYS a great choice. The owner is very friendly. When he is not helping out in the kitchen, he is at the bar talking with his customers. I have had the opportunity to speak with him on many occasions. Sarah, behind the bar, makes some pretty amazing drinks that never disappoint. She is also one of the friendliest and hardest working people that you will meet. They make a very inviting atmosphere that makes it hard for you NOT to want to come back. I've driven an hour on a few occasions just to sit at the bar after a long and stressful day, and Poison Ivy just doesn't miss for me. On the bar function, they get an A+. I can't find anything wrong with the bar. The atmosphere and space is updated and beautiful, the staff is great, the drinks are great.. what more could you want? I also can't necessarily find anything wrong with the kitchen. The food, in my opinion, is worth every penny and leaves me feeling full and satisfied. They have a large menu with a wide range of items, and they also do special meals for holidays. I have came here and dined on Thanksgiving before, and the food that was prepared was just as good as what grandma would make. Who would've thought from a bar? You also may want to make a point to save room for dessert, because they often carry a good variety of cheesecakes. I will note one thing... During these difficult and unprecedented times, staffing and talent retention has been a huge issue for businesses; especially in less populated areas. I really wish that more people would understand this dilemma. I can say that I know Poison Ivy is one of the businesses that have been negatively affected by some of these very common struggles, so please be mindful of this if you are planning on bringing a large amount of covers. If you are considering bringing say 20 people around the time that a bar would typically start to get busy, it would likely be a better idea to buy some place out for the night. Maybe a place with experience handling such parties. Possibly Poison Ivy! Because their food is good. I know for a fact that their front-of-house staff bounces between the bar and dining room, wearing multiple hats, and it is worth noting that a pub will likely push preference towards their bar. Just food for thought if you are planning something as such. I personally have not been affected by the staffing issues. When I come, I feel taken care of by the team always. I have great service, great drinks, great food, and most importantly: a great time. I truly recommend trying out this business if you are in the area :)

Had an amazing price at Poison Ivy Pub! The food even seems to be a bit cheaper than I remember before! 10 out of 10 recommended!

Came to this pub in Roscoe and had a pretty uneven experience. It looks pretty cool inside, with a…read moreton of TVs, and it's got plenty of room. Louie's Tap House is one of the few good hangouts in town. Has tons of local beers. The food menu has burgers and stuff at pretty good prices. A lot of people really come here just to get drunk. It's no wonder because there's a massive beer list. This is shown on a TV and goes through a few screens. A lot of local beers. It's about $8 for some of these. Among these is the Generations Pretzel City. There's tons of food though. It's $12 for the Louie Burger. Make it with a Beyond Burger patty for a couple bucks more. The food isn't really as bad as some people say. One thing sucks to be honest. The service. It was slow getting a small order of a Beyond Burger. This isn't even like it's a real one that gets cooked much. After that it was slow to get the check. The waiting was too long so we left money, though we didn't have enough for a tip. Good food, but it can take a long time, so keep it basic. It has tons of beers, which go great with burgers, or something. There's even burger options for vegans and vegetarians.

It's a shame the service is so poor at Loui's because the food is actually pretty good, but because…read morethey don't have enough staff or because there is poor communication the experience at Louie's is not good. We called ahead to let them know that 5 adults and two children were coming in for a birthday. We asked to be placed in the back room. They said they didn't take reservations, but the bar tender would be told we were coming and they could accommodate us. We arrived at 11:30 and were told we could seat ourselves in the back room and from that point on we were basically on our own. The bar tender appeared to be the only wait staff. So we went to the bar to order our drinks and then we went back to the bar with our food order. I am in no way blaming the bartender. She was on her own. There were people at the bar that she needed to take care of. However, we ended up getting our own silverware, straws...etc. once the food showed up. But a short time later people started coming into the back room and setting up for a party. And shortly after that we were asked to leave the back area. Our 8 year old birthday boy had not opened his gifts so we hauled the gifts to the bar area where he opened them. This "event" which we'd hoped to make special, was a bit of a disaster. Had I been the person writing our bill I would have deducted 25% and apologized. That did not occur. Full bill. No apology. We won't be returning.

I had all the options! We ordered the Death Grip IPA and Briéekraut Oktoberfest, which we both loved. We started our meal with an order of nachos to start, and they were covered in a delicious nacho "cheese" and a a chili. My meal was the loaded Mac n Cheezy Bowl - which was so incredible (especially when you don't need to worry about the amount of dairy in it!!). My husband got the Grilled Cheeze Steak Tacos and really enjoyed them! The taco is made with a mini quesadilla as the shell with a delicious filling. Our server was extremely friendly, welcoming, and ensured a great experience. The restaurant definitely feels like a classic brewery with fun decorations and exposed brewing equipment, which is always awesome to see. Added plus is they have free Tesla charging for customers!
