Came here on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. We got the two for twenty as well as two margaritas. We sat at the bar and Sherell hooked us up!! For entrees we got a cheeseburger with mashed potatoes as well as chicken tenders with fries. The food was hot and the restaurant was clean and friendly. If I could give less then one star, I would. Time and time again I try to give this location a "second chance" and it always results in utter disappointment. Today, I placed a simple pick up order and have been waiting 40 minutes after the given pick up time. Everyone here looks miserable and have the worst attitude that a service employee could have. I understand the stress that working in a restaurant might cause, especially when you are understaffed of other issues arise, but at the end of the day you are in the service industry. Perhaps the additional 40 minute wait would have been tolerable if an apology, explanation or a simple smile was given. It is disgusting that this establishment allows the worst attitudes to run their front house. Earns 1star Once seated I asked for the table to be cleaned because it was sticky. Hostess walks away and comes back with a NAPKIN and wipes it down. Uhhmm miss what are you doing? Loses 1star. Next I ask for the ladies room.Not only did it smell but there was paper all over the floor. How could this be when 1.this is a restaurant's restroom and not a gas station's and 2.there is a sign that says if it's not clean to please report it so it can be fixed. So you mean to tell me the other ladies here can't read? Not acceptable! Loses 1star So where does that leave us? Negative 1star. Ok waiter was very helpful in letting us know happy hour is in only certain sections of the restaurant (bar and outsize seating area). Gains 1star. I almost thought that I was going to have a good meal here and actually ventured past the appetizer section. Needless to say, I will not be doing that again. When I go to any one of these locations, I'm only looking for good drinks and decent appetizers for a cheap price. On my last visit, I messed around ordered a steak which I couldn't really eat because the server who was pulling disappearing acts the whole time couldn't find any steak knives so there was no way to really eat that overcooked piece of beef. The only thing going for this Applebees is its food. Service is horrible, they can't get people seated in a timely manner. They have numerous tables open and 10 people waiting for tables. They wouldn't seat people waiting for "happy hour" at the many tables that were empty. We took our party elsewhere and ate and drank for 3 hours. It's your typical Applebee's. I don't come here for fine dining. It's more like, I'm tired from shopping & this is close. Our server was really nice. She just took really long to clear off our table. It was a relatively small 2 seater, so table space was limited. There were like 5 birthdays there (one was a group of 40 ), but they sang happy birthday lively each and every time. Not a pleasant dining experience at this Applebee's but I will be fair and give them 3 stars given previous experiences here. Pros: Greeted upon entering Clean location No wait on a Saturday night (weather related) Courteous staff Cons: Slow food service. My food came out at least 20 mins after the rest of my parties. When it did come it was undercooked. Empty ketchup bottles After knowing my food was late the server did not return immediately to see how things were going. I have been here on another occasion and it was very crowded but my girlfriends and I were able to score seats at the bar. The drinks are weak but this is not your typical bar so my expectation was already low. The kitchen service needs improvement and the staff needs to pay more attention to detail. It is still a welcomed addition to the neighborhood as places to eat in the area are limited and it allows you to have a place to enjoy the company of your friends or family at a neighborhood eatery. Located in a nice new area, at least from the outside. In reality I'll be surprise if Gateway Center lasts in it's current state at all. Already graffiti as you enter in a seemingly modern area. Anyway, I know it is AppleBee's and I wasn't expecting a mind-blowing experience but it was perhaps one of the most disappointing chain restaurants experiences I encountered. The positive was that the wait was nonexistent for a Saturday afternoon which should have forewarned me. But service was alright, overly worked waitress. Niketa was a good waitress...The bar food, boneless chicken and buffalo wings were okay... hard to get celery and when it did come wasn't fresh, had started to lose its color. I ordered takeout on a Saturday night in a fairly empty restaurant. I really don't ever know what to get so I usually stick to the safe route: cheeseburger. And that's what I ordered on Saturday. However, to liven up a dull cheeseburger, I decided to add some extra toppings such as fried onion strings and mushrooms. Despite the burger being well done (I usually order medium well) and slightly charred, the fried onions and mushrooms gave it the kick it needed to disguise the char taste. The fries were bland, no salt or anything special, at that. I doubt I'll return. And if so, for happy hour specials. For the price which was fairly cheap (approximately $10), I'd prefer to add in a couple of more dollars and get a burger that I'd thoroughly enjoy. read more

Ordered online, got there on time, they said the burger wasn't done, fine. Waited, 20 minutes, their packing the bag, another 20 minutes pass, everyone around me gets their orders, so I ask where's my order? First off it was a party of 15 and we were told the wait was going to be a hour and half (no problem ) . After about a hour and half we asked how much longer because the kids were getting restless that's when we were told we have 6 people ahead of us so the wait would probably be another hour and half (which makes no sense if you said a hour and a half the first time ) we asked to speak to the manager and she replies "well I don't know if you heard me (with attitude ) but I said the wait would be a hour and half or so". This place is NOT good at all. The staff are nice but other than that everything is a disaster. You're sat at empty tables with no napkins or silverware. They brought out our entrees before our appetizers and our waitress was even surprised that happened. The nachos had about a spoonful of meat on them with a little drizzled cheese and mostly 20 untouched plain nachos underneath. At first slow but not terrible The waitress came by took our order - brought my food and then asked my husband what did you order. She then came back with a southwestern bowl with shrimp he ordered chicken. He let her know that wasn't his order. She starts typing and my husband asks what did you doing - come to find out she had never put in his dinner order or drink order. But going back to my food the chicken sandwich was okay but the fries tasted old. I don't know how you mess up fries but they did. They replaced the fries but it was better but just okay. Also the plate they brought to my husband had obviously been sitting in the kitchen for a while it looked so old.
