Worst food I've ever ordered without exaggeration. Been here before several times and never had issues but my delivery order is inexcusable. My kids Mac and cheese tastes like it's days old. Shes 3 and refused to eat it. A 3 year old refusing Mac and cheese should tell you all you need to know. Every single item tastes old. The Philly cheese steak smells sour! I called the restaurant because I assumed something changed in the kitchen... some new guy or something. They said everything is the same as it's been and there's just no way. Ok so the service, ambiance and most assuredly the food is top notch! This is a hidden gem in Glendale queens. I had the French onion soup, easily the best French onion soup I've ever had! Order our drinks then ordered our food which was a cobb salad n wings and some sweet potatoe fries. It was 6:20 when we was seated, so the place started getting a but crowded. Our waitress was very attentive to us. When our food came at 8:00pm kinda long wait for food. Really appetizers. It was delish and it was worth the wait. It was really very tasty. One of my favorite spots for Sunday Brunch and Wings Wednesdays plus their reasonably priced menu has other goodies along with Bar drinks that satisfy. The ambiance and service are top-notch along with different events throughout the year. Kudos to Carolanne and the staff. Recently, I went to The Avenue for an impromptu Valentine's dinner, and It was also Wings Wednesday. Suffice it to say, No decorations for Valentine's Day dinner a menu that offers a few choices with ala carte pricing, or a three-course dinner with upcharges. The filet mignon ($7) was delicious, But the Shrimp was just okay in the surf & turf choice ($15). Why not charge $100 per couple and do away with upcharges, Just saying. read more

Let me start with this, the food was good. I enjoyed my wrap and our dumplings appetizer. I generally don't like leaving bad reviews but my experience at The Avenue tonight was ridiculous. I live in the neighborhood and have been there a few times. I know that you'll usually have a longish wait for your food, but because the food is good, I wouldn't complain too much about the wait. I don't know if they were understaffed in the kitchen or the dining room but we waited over 45 minutes for our food and when it came, there were no napkins or utensils. This was not "eat with your hands" food. Everything was a long delay (apps, utensils, entrees, ketchup, check). It wasn't only us. The people who ordered their food right before us got served after us. Our waitress seemed to be run off her feet. If you know you're getting a good crowd in for St. Patrick's day, bring in another waitress. After tonight, I don't know if I'll be back. read more

It's refreshing for a place in Glendale to offer such a unique veggie burger option. I thoroughly enjoyed their balsamic marinated portobello mushroom burger (a little on the acidic side). The thick layer of mozzarella cheese, a ton of roasted red peppers, topped with fresh field greens only added to the great flavor. Then all of this on a pretzel bun? Yes, please. I immediately had a fondness for the restaurant when I opened up my delivery box and saw they fulfilled my request. I don't like having to choose between sweet potato and regular fries and just figured it couldn't hurt to ask for half of each as my side. And they gave me both! Horrible experience. Horrible customer service. Placed a substantial order of $55+tax+delivery fee. Chicken wing sampler ($23), steakhouse burger ($12), mac and cheese ($13), French onion soup ($5), ginger ale ($2). Food came 50 minutes over estimated wait time. Was cold. First of all chicken wings were inedible and they all ended up in the trash. They were dry like I've never seen before. Texture of a bad jerky. You could barely bite them. Meat tasted old. Burger was ordered medium, it came well done, dry. Bacon, and the sauce on it were good. Mac and cheese had no flavor. It was just a bechamel sauce with some cheese. You could taste the flour and the milk more than any of the "four" cheeses. I dont order from a restaurant to be doing the cooking for them. I did add some pepper, nutmeg, cayenne, and salt. Broiled it to a nice crispy top. This saved it, but again, I shouldn't be doing that. Onion soup had an okay flavor, good amount of cheese. It was however too oily, and they put the croutons right into the soup so by the time it is delivered expect a soggy mess. Ginger ale was the best part of the meal. But even here they manage to mess it up. I ordered a 16oz, it came in a small cup (probably around 8 oz) and filled with ice cubes to the brim. So three sips of ginger ale were the highlight of this meal. Naturally, I called eat24 for a refund. Manager was not there. They said to call them during the week. Called the following weekday, again, manager was not there. Eat24 representative said that as soon as he said he's calling from eat24 they instantly said that the manager is not at work. I hope you won't make the same mistake and order from this overpriced "restaurant". read more

Came here for the first time a few nights ago after hearing about the famous "crack" wings. The crack wings, are so delicious to the point where I'm dreaming about them. With that being said, we did ONLY try the wings so I cant speak on any other food items. The space is smaller, with a back area with a few tables. Our waitress wasn't the FRIENDLIEST but I think she was just overwhelmed. Which is fine. By no means was she rude. Our bartender however was very attentive despite it being super busy which I like. I hate having to flag down a bartender, she was quick and efficient. Overall a great place with friendly people and good food. They also have good specials too, 50 cent wings and 3 dollar draft beers- pretty good for a Saturday. I will be returning for the crack wings. read more

We placed an order through their website At 6:53 p.m. estimated pick Up time was 7;23. I arrived at 7:30 And was told the order was being processed And it would be a few minutes more. Well lo and behold at 8:04 my food is brought out to me. We get it home within 5 minutes because we don't live far. This is what we come home to: Luke warm Buffalo wings were OK nothing to brag about, home style pot roast was terrible We've had better from frozen meals, pulled pork sandwich flavorless. Luke warm shimp po'boy had 3 shrimp in it that were not seasoned : was supposed to have a aioli but tasted like simple mayo. Bavarian pretzel can't complain. Grilled chicken wrap: the chicken was over cooked we don't know what type of dressing was on. It as it was supposed to be ranch but it had no flavor whatsoever was definitely not ranch; the steak burrito was over cooked. all The Leftovers we had were thrown directly into the garbage and there was plenty left over. As for any compensation for waiting over an hour for a meal we will given a slice of cheesecake and a brownie. If you want the best wings in town come here ! I can't rave about the wings here at the avenue enough. Eat in or take out I've always had flavorful signature sauces and perfectly cooked crispy and still juicy wings every time. The other food is also worth a mention but I believe the wings are the stand out item on the menu. MAC attack is a unique wrap that I would also recommend. The burgers have also always been 100%. Aside from the food, the bar itself has a decent selection and the staff and owner have always been present and friendly. They also often host paint nights and other themed nights at the bar for locals patrons and new customers to enjoy. read more

A seemingly generic looking sports bar on Myrtle Avenue in Glendale. What sets this place apart from other similar sports bars in the area? This one has a pretty good wing special during NFL games, and from what I've been told (being a vegetarian and all, I have not gotten a chance to partake in said wings), they are also quite good. They also happen to make a pretty tasty portobello mushroom burger, which I'm quite fond of. On some nights, they also have a good beer special ($2 drafts and the like) and I see that they offer a dirt cheap lunch special that I've sadly never gotten to partake in as I am at work during those hours. Since this place is also a sports bar, they do have a bunch of tvs around the bar that will broadcast basically any and all games that happen to be playing at that moment. The bf and his friends have been coming here for years and they are quite friendly with the bartenders there. Even if you're not a regular, the servers have always been attentive to my needs. So if you ever find yourself in this part of Queens and happen to have a hankering for some pretty good bar offerings and some cheap drinks, stop by here. read more

I should preface this by mentioning that my Mom likes this place. She also likes canned ham on Easter. I love my Mom, but she doesn't know jack about food. This is one of those places you see on Restaurant: Impossible all the time. Almost all the cardinal sins are on display. The food is predominantly reheated from a bag or a can. It's also bland and under-seasoned. Atmosphere in the dining area is confusing--you're surrounded by 4 big-screen TVs showing a variety of sports, and guaranteed the one game you'd actually get into watching is the one on the TV right behind your head. In any case, TVs don't belong in a dining room. If the place was a sports bar, with a sports bar vibe, that's cool--but it purports to be a restaurant. Our server didn't seem to know a lot about the food, too--certainly wasn't at all enthusiastic about it. And, the most mind-boggling detail of all--it's a bar in the front, and a restaurant in the back, and the whole place has ONE bathroom--single-person. Facepalm. read more

They only do it once a month, and you have to check out their Facebook page to figure out when it is. I like a place that doesn't pretend to be what it's not and here you are going to get regular food, hot sandwiches, crispy fries and lots of wing choices. While my wife and I both enjoyed out meal what surprised me was while the fries (with chilli & cheese) hit all the right spots the onion rings seems cheapest and store bought. The waiter wasn't the fastest but he was enjoyable and knew all the right answers and could point me in the right direction. A draw back came when the bill was bought and I realized I was charged for 4 sprites (my wife and I both had Sprite and had a refill during the meal). The waiter never told us and I may have had an idea if the drinks were can or bottle but these were fountain drinks. This drove the bill up higher than I expected but such is life. Well I can tell you this, if I lived closer and parking wasn't such a pain, I know I would be here at least once a week. Second time here and am very happy. Enjoyed the brunch today, eggs benedict that were light, great hollandaise and scrumptious potatoes with bacon!! The Bloody Mary was very good, spicy and definitely had vodka in it which is not always the case at alot of brunches. All for $9.95 A few weeks ago enjoyed a nice sized Rib Eye steak for $18.95 and my hubby had a Pot Roast with caramelized vegetables that was first rate. The cook on 9/19/19 around 9 pm picked up the phone cursed at me and hung up after I told him I'm a regular at the avenue and know what their delicious chipotle sauce looks like and that I was disappointed that they filled my CBR wrap with HOT SAUCE and put hot sauce on the side to top it off (red watery sauce). I could not eat my dinner because it was spicy as hell! I know what their chipotle sauce is and kindly asked for it on the side. This place is local for me. Once and a while we choose to go by for a lunch or quick drink. The food is good each time we order it. But for some reason, whenever my girlfriend orders a vodka bay breeze, they mix it with orange juice instead of pineapple juice. Seems like this happens more than it should. The dining area is a bit small and isolated from the bar (which helps the noise levels when you are there with the family). Overall I do recommend if you're in the area. read more

This place is definitely meant for night life. The wings are decent and the fillet of fish was good if you were to eat it with out the crab stuffing. The fillet was well prepared and seasoned but the crab meat tasted processed as if it came out of the can. The vegetables were fresh and delicious. The cook was friendly and chatty. Made the whole experience delightful. I would highly recommend the Jack Daniel Double Cheese Burger. You won't be able to fit it in your whole mouth. The Avenue is inexpensive and you get your moneys' worth for the portions they serve you. I suggest that you go there after 4pm because it's a dead town before that! read more
