Really impressed by the quality of service. But was left underwhelmed with the quality of food. They had this deal going on - unlimited chicken wings - all you can eat. But it was not really chicken wings - it was more like chicken strips covered in sauce. The chicken sandwich I got was also pretty disgusting. I am skeptical of the breads but the grilled chicken they used was definitely subpar. The other thing that was annoying was the game screen that they offer. It is designed for you to accidentally click it and then get charged $2.99. I never thought that I already got charged. It would come on your final receipt. However the server at this location were very nice. They took great care of our order. When we were leaving they even offered to give us another set of wings to go - which we politely declined but it was a great gesture. In general I have heard better things from Apple Bees but for now I will probably keep it just slightly above KFC. read more

Applebees is a consistent brand but what makes it special is the employees. Go see Dyan at the bar. She will make you the world's best margarita. I ordered the "perfect margarita" and Dyan not only nailed it, she perfected it even further. Run, don't walk!! Very yummy! Come here every month, it seems! The French fries are very good! They are almost identical to McDonald's French fries. The cheeseburger is my favorite item on the menu! Burgers were most excellent and the nachos were just okay, we did not eat in so I can't comment and that but the packaging of the food was done well and everything was included that needed to be. We love this place, infact I have given great reviews about our experiences there. Usually great service was non existent on our recent visit. We sat in the bar. Took quite awhile to be noticed and get drinks and menus. Then we waited forever and didn't get anyone to return to our table. They were too busy I guess. We saw them talking and worried about getting lemons and they disappeared all together for a while. We got tired of being ignored even by the manager so we left 5 dollars on our table for coffee and iced tea and we left. One of our favorite places to go and now we will not hurry back. read more

My mom and I come here all the time. The service is always excellent and friendly, the food is consistently amazing, and I always feel at home. There are always games going on the TVs from the NBA, NHL, MBL, etc. and it makes the ambiance feel especially welcoming. read more

Our relationship with Applebee's continues. The service and staff were good as usual. We always sit in the bar. I decided to try their ribeye steak. The photo on the menu did not match what I got. I know the ribeye cut can be fatty but this particular steak was thin and riddled with fat and gristle. I felt like I was performing surgery instead of cutting meat. I ate what I could but for $25 I expect something I can eat most of. The other thing I noticed was the bill. This was the first time I have spent over $100 there including the tip. Yes I tipped almost $20 but that's getting to be the standard because the bills are higher everywhere. It's just a sign of the times. Prices are high everywhere. Slow Monday 8pm. 2 adults 1 child Dark dark corner booth that had old food on the floor underneath and was a cold breeze shooting on us non stop- a vaccuum sat just behind my head on the other side of the last booth we were seated so far away from anyone else in the restaurant?! Took over 30 min to get bar drinks Food took even longer and came out microwaved and cold on the outside. French fries were old & cold and seemed microwaved more than once ..? - I had their new chicken sandwich and it was a rock hard bun with a giant microwaved hot spots breaded chicken breast from frozen not real baked or grilled meat hardly any mayo house sauce super dry and about 8 tiny pickle slices. Served atop cold fries that were microwaved. That's it. My 2 year old had rubbery mashed potatoes and old fettuccine noodles that were hard on the top. She ate nothing I fed her toast after we got home?!! My fiancé had bbq wings and got a plate with about 10 over sauced circular shaped "wings" ?? Never again. Don't Waste money. Gross. read more

I am a weekly regular diner at Applebees, and I think it is one of the best medium -priced restaurants I've experienced. The general manager, Mihaela Hauer is very personal and efficient, as are the other managers, William and Jeff. The bar tenders/servers- Dyann, Jess,, Jasmine, Nancy and the others. are also very efficient and caring. My favorite dinner is the Fiesta Lime Chicken, along with a house salad, and a brownie- bite for dessert. I've recommended this restaurant to several friends here on San Juan island. read more

The food used to be pretty good here. The manager was friendly and made sure you had a good experience. I don't think he is here any longer. The last two orders I got were pretty bad. I ordered a hot platter that arrived at my table cold and i could literally pick up the platter so A..they never heated it or B. It sat there. They did offer to remake it but I didn't want to wait since my husbands was already there. The manager at no time came out and spoke with us so this leads me to believe that management has changed. The second order was a pickup order in which they forgot my beverage, a Long Island Iced tea. The beans were cold and the chicken nuggets were tiny and undersauced. My husband and I are traveling from Missouri. We decided to go to Applebee's, because he loves the bourbon steak, and we had a gift card. We got there early enough for happy hour 3-6, so we got the chicken quesadillas. They were very good and filling. Then, we did the 2 for $32 deal, I believe it was, so we got salads, since we had an appetizer already. They were very nice. Then, our meals came and were great! I couldn't eat all of my meal. My wife and I have been coming to the Burlington Applebee's for several years and always very satisfied with the food and outstanding service. They treat me like family. I have not been in past couple years due to Covid and loosing my wife to Cancer but decided to finally venture out again get back into enjoying my life. Everyone at Applebee's are just as great as always. Most of the staff have changed over past two years of course but my favorite wait person or supervisor or employee extraordinaire , Michael, is still here thank goodness . What a great person he is. Thank you also to Adrianna and Jessie for assisting me. I've been reading other reviews of this Applebee's on Yelp and cannot believe some of their negative comments. Shame on you. Tonight they had a great staff! You could hear there was a big commotion in the kitchen, with a lot of glass breakage. You could see by the tears being held back by the wait staff that something serious had happened. They all Pushed on. Our server stepped up Her game as the emergency vehicles were showing up out back. Not causing any commotion to the dinning area at all. Meals were coming out, and orders were being made. Cold, stale, bad service, worse place for food!!! a torturous experience all the way around!

I'm a disabled war veteran who suffers from social anxiety. My team and I were attacked by a terrorist group when I was in a hotel in a foreign country. I struggle now going out into crowded places where there are lots of people. I actively support other veterans through the VFW, the American Legion, and the SAL and volunteer to help others in the community. I was informed that Applebees offers free meals to veterans on Veterans Day, but I have never tried it out. I showed up at around 3:30 PM and the place was relatively full but there was no one waiting at the time. By the time a waitress asked me if I had been helped there were 3 other people standing behind me. I watched a veteran walk out with a large container of leftovers and he looked satisfied. I explained that I hadn't been helped but asked if I could get an order to go. The waitress directed me to the bartender and said that she would help me. My anxiety was almost to it's peak but I walked over to the bartender. When the bartender asked me how she could help me. I explained that I'm a veteran and that I have social anxiety and was wondering if I could get an order to go. She said, "No. The free meals for veterans are only if you eat in." I explained that I have social anxiety and can't handle all the people. She said, "I'm sorry." I got up feeling ashamed, embarrassed, and sick to my stomach. I said, "Okay." and smiled. The bartender thanked me for my service and I wove through the crowded throng of functional veterans eating for free and had a whole bunch of questions that I felt should be answered but I didn't have the patience or fortitude to stand there and ask the manager about it. It makes no sense to me to place stipulations on a free meal for veterans where there are many others like me that are challenged in public places. Particularly when you see people walking out with large leftover containers that they could use to present a meal to someone in. I won't ever eat in an Applebees anywhere ever and I won't ever recommend it to anyone. In the future though, when people tell me about how generous and thoughtful and patriotic Applebees is by offering free meals to veterans on Veterans Day, I'm going to tell them about this experience. Why did I go there? Why did I waste my time, energy, and spirit only to be humiliated and walk out ashamed and embarrassed? Rock on for helping the other veterans and active service members who can appreciate this offer. My experience, not so good. read more

First...by no fault of the establishment the old guy sitting 2 table lengths away needs to pick a buffet line hacking every minute gets annoying. I have a very low tolerance when it comes to disgusting behavior but he probably has some serious copd STAY HOME seriously. My wife and I haven't been to a restaurant to eat in over a year. I came in with friends about a week ago and we ordered drinks, we got our ids taken from us and they stared at us and our ids for about 5 minutes. Once they came back with our IDs they took our orders and proceeded to gossip and stare at us the whole time we were in the restaurant. We visited this restaurant as a group of 5. With 2 being seniors. Throughout the service our waitress was significantly inattentive. A key ingredient (rice noodle) was missing from the oriental chicken salad and she neglected to inform us prior to ordering. She dropped off the food and I was looking through my salad and noticed it wasn't correct. Took awhile for her to return and I questioned her about the missing ingredient. She stated she would go and check with the kitchen. I waited several minutes and she came around again to refill waters, she was also supposed to refill Pepsis but she NEVER did after several requests. I had to question her again where the rice noodles were. She said "oh, the kitchen is out. They didn't tell me until I asked." Sorry, but the rice noodles are kind of a big item to be missing from an oriental salad. We would likely have ordered something different if we were informed of this. She dropped off our bill and did not apply the senior discount. Then she seemed to disappear into thin air, we asked the hostess MULTIPLE times to please assist us and she stated she couldn't help and to contact our waitress. Our waitress, after over 10 minutes of waiting and all of us out of our seats needing to leave, returned with a "new" bill. Our $87 bill was reduced to $85 with the senior discount for 2 meals. This was incorrect. When we tried to remind her of the meals that should be reduced she argued with us. We were now waiting way longer than we should have and we all had places to be so we opted to pay the bill and leave no tip. First of all, 2 of us ordered the same salad that was missing a key ingredient and we were offered no discount and second the senior discount for 2 meals should be more than $1 each at a 10% discount. Overall, this left us extremely unsatisfied and we will not be returning to this location. This review will be posted in numerous locations and I will be following up with management. read more

HOW NOT TO TREAT A CUSTOMER. We were there on Friday night. It wasn't super busy, there was no wait, we were sat right away. We waited almost 10 minutes before our server Dyan came to our table to tell us she would be back in a minute as she had orders to put in..........REALLY! She was also training someone, poor girl. When they came back she asked how we were. "Well apart from you keeping us waiting for 10 minutes we are good I said. We had by this time already discussed whether to get up and go, we didn't even get a water brought to us to keep us occupied. Anyway Dyan carried on "well lets get you started then, Im training this girl, what do you want to drink. My husband told her what he wanted, I started to tell her what I wanted, but she lost interest and turned her head away to look at something more important than the customer before her. The trainee, fills in "oh you want water, I will get the drinks" she escaped as quick as she could. My husband and I looked at each other and decided to leave, it was quite obvious that Dyan didn't want to be bothered with us, maybe didn't even want to be there...who knows. However, she should have at least apologized for keeping us waiting, but no she was just completely flippant and clearly irritated. She is completely in the wrong job. We left and walked across the street to Johnny Carinos' , good hot food, our server was friendly and worked the table correctly in a timely fashion. So Manager of Applebees', perhaps you should rethink your training strategy. Dyan perhaps you should go work for that chain of restaurants who's gimmick is to be as rude as possible to the customer, however at ApplebeesI dont really think that is anybodies expectation. I was going to write a review stating how poor the customer service was, but in the end the assistant manager rectified the problem. The food at Applebee's is about what you'd expect for the price you pay. They do have frequent updates to their menu to add a little variety which is nice. The new items on the shareable menu and apps are especially good now. There are several items focused on their pulled pork that I would suggest; namely the sliders and nachos. Additionally, I can't get enough of the boneless chicken wings in the spicy Asian sauce. Give em a try! read more
