Pretty satisfied with the two bacon cheeseburgers we ordered at this establishment. The burgers were large, well made, tasty and importantly no skimping on the bacon. The accompanying fries were equally well made, tasty and with a nice crunchy texture. Ended up washing my food down with a $5 drink special Margarita that while tasty was light on the tequila with only 1 oz of tequila in it. The things I love about Applebee's is their value equation where you get a pretty decent meal at a very modest cost for a sit-down restaurant. This is an excellent option for family dining because of their prices where they also have a nice kids menu with an expanded selection over what other businesses may offer. read more

Me and the family dined at our local Applebees and it was ok. My bourbon chicken and shrimp were good , however it was painfully obvious that our broccoli and cheese & mashed potatoes had been microwaved on high. Andre our server was friendly enough, but not as attentive as I'd like. We had to wait on water several times and parts of our order were forgotten too. Maybe Om just used to fine dining and I have unrealistic expectations for Applebees. I'll give em another chance soon. read more

It was chill here. The staff were great and honestly had a fun time with friends. They even let us buy some to go.

It was nice to see the restaurant decently filled with customers. Food is prepared very well with right-sized portions for really decent prices. My new favorite is the southwestern chicken bowl. I get it every time. I can't get chicken breast anywhere else that is this well seasoned-I love flavor! The chimichurri sauce is spicy but I like heat. We have a terrific server, Saul. Every time we go to Applebee's, we are sure to sit in his section. He delivers great service and makes the experience that much more enjoyable. What I don't understand is why this place doesn't have a line out the door. The food is really very good. We've been coming to this restaurant for 20+ years. I appreciate the updated menus from time to time and the fun, seasonal drinks. Rate (zero) December 2, 2024 Hurtful and Embarrassing Experience: December 2, 2024 at 645p we ( Adult Son and 2.5 yr Granddaughter) were refused a seat at the Applebees in Commerce Twp. The Assistant Manager said the kitchen was backed up. I asked to be seated and acknowledged the wait for food and was refused s seat. We again asked for a Manager. She returned and said the Manager refused to speak or seat us. We obtained the District Managers telephone. The DM asked me why they wouldn't seat us. I gave the explanation above. She asked me why they said that; I replied "I don't know your policy". That's why I am calling you for assistance. She offered us a free meal if we drive to their Novi Restaurant 40 min away! I refused the offer and advised I intend to file a discrimination complaint and ended the conversation. JL read more

On Tuesday august 27, 2024 went Applebees after attending a funeral, there were 6 of us. One person in the group was having a very low blood sugar (which is dangerous) I asked the person if we could be seated now because of the situation stating the the diabetic who was having a low needs to get food; they said that they would have to ask their manager. When she came back she said that her manager said "NO", but could give the person having a low something to bring up the sugar levels. So I suggested orange juice; the girl went to the bar and the girl tending bar put a drop of orange juice in the cup, the other girl said it was for a diabetic and the girl tending bar said I can't give any orange juice out, so the other girl went into the kitchen and got some orange juice. This all took abut 20 minutes. Luckily the diabetic didn't pass out from the low blood sugar. To top it off they weren't even busy, there were a lot of empty tables and booths. It's pretty bad when people have a great disregard for someone in crises. Because of their attitude and how we were treated I will not go back to that Applebees. read more

We went for lunch today to try the all you can eat offer. Service was extremely slow but I only blame the administration for having only 2 waiters for the entire restaurant. Aside of that, the offer included ribs, wings and shrimp to find out they were out of ribs, so not only was short enough but they didnt had one of the 1, terrible. My friend and I were in the area and they wanted to stop because they heard the tv ads for 2 for $20. I don't usually stop at Applebee's since a lot of the food has a high calorie and sodium content but I figured whatevs since it's only a once in a while stop. I checked In on the yelp app and I was given a free appetizer upon each check in which was nice! I went with the sirloin steak, garlic mashed potatoes, bacon Mac and cheese and a house salad with Caesar dressing and for the appetizer I went with the boneless honey barbecue wings. They give you a lot of food!!! Everything was good, the chicken on the wings was tender but the wings have a bit too much breading for my taste. The salad was good as was the garlic mashed potatoes. The bacon Mac and cheese was decent though it didn't have a lot of flavor. The sirloin wasn't all that juicy but it was about what I was expecting. For $10 bucks you can't really beat the food if you go in expecting it to be an average meal. read more

I love the consistency of Applebee's . They are not crazy with the pricing, and the food is solid...as long as you know what NOT to order. . This is my second visit in two weeks because My mom loves their ribs, they were out when came in at 7;30, so she got the Riblets. She likes them and I thought they were great appetizers or dinner! If you want to get in, eat something good, and get out and you already have a favorite, donut. Last week I had a ok burger (the bourbon burger) it was pretty good. I do have to say the All Brunch burger is the best one. The burger actually has a crispy hash brown on the top and a fried egg. Yes, it's breakfast and brunch in a burger. Anyway I got a different one and it was good but not as special. Today I'm eating the spinach dip, not my favorite because...I make one that is so good, nothing compares. But really, it's just not my thing...I'm waiting for my entree...stay tuned. I had the Chicken and Shrimp Bourbon entree. The chicken was cooked just right, juicy and grilled on the outside. The shrimp, a loser for me...please increase the size and grill them, I want to taste the grill! I don't care for the boiled shrimp taste. So we went in for late night happy hour. Walked in asked if me and my husband could sit at the bar. We're told that it is fine. There were literally 3 people there and 2 of them were getting up to leave. After a few minutes the bartender came over and told us " I'm on a wait also, I'm working carry out and can't be in two places at once." Ok, and? It's a Friday night and the place was not all that busy. So what is the bartender going to do when tables order drinks? Are they going to tell them that "I'm sorry. Came here on a Saturday night when I did not feel like cooking! This Applebee's location is conveniently located and I appreciate their frequent dinner specials as well, such as the 2 for $22 (and even with the upgrades not breaking the bank completely) and currently the $8.99 bowls which remind me of chipotle bowls but with an Applebee's spin on it! I tried a few dishes: the bourbon shrimp and chicken, 8oz filet with macaroni (upgrade) and mushrooms and garlic potatoes, and tried the crispy orange chicken bowl and the southwest chicken bowl along with sweet chili wings. Everything was tasty and the ordering process was pretty easy, with parking on the side of the building near the now defunct McDonalds and an employee comes right out to deliver the order to your car. I felt this process was safe as they did visit my passenger side window for social distancing which was nice and appreciated. My favorite item was the southwest chicken bowl as it was tasty and felt like a healthier option compared to the wings I got. Also the mushrooms which I ordered as an extra side went along great with the filet and mashed potatoes!!! I did have a problem with my order/ an item was forgot but I called and spoke with Adrian here who was super kind and helped remedy the forgotten item and was super professional and polite! 5 stars for great customer service here all around. You usually see a few miserable people at any restaurant, but this was something that kind of stuck out. Another crazy thing - they were actually informative! The server was able to answer questions and gave some good suggestions. The food was good. I didn't expect a lot, obviously, but it all came out hot and fast. The place was pretty clean too. We don't usually hang out in Commerce but were in the area after doing errands. Our trusty Yelp app led us to the first Applebee's nearby( and thru two(!) roundabouts to this place. It's located in a shopping center that has a Target and Michael's and Home Depot, which makes it convenient for weekend shopping. We got there right at open and were immediately seated. Lauren, our server, was a treasure. My sister and I were battling headaches and we skipped the alcohol for hot coffee. Lauren brewed it up and served it hot, with plenty of cream and sugar for me. I checked in through Yelp and scored a free appetizer. I chose the brisket quesadillas which were awesome! Lauren waited while we scarfed them down and came back to get our entree choices. We went with salads-my sister loves the Thai Shrimp and I went with a Southwestern Steak. Both were fresh and delicious. Lauren kept the coffee coming and we started to revive. She deftly handled several tables and gave great suggestions to everyone-some ladies realized that it was Friday and needed some non-meat options. She suggested the kid's grilled cheese with either a salad or soup and that was met with delight! All it all, we really enjoyed our trip to Commerce and would stop by again! read more

My family has been going to Applebee's for years and it's always been good (not great) good... this last time we ordered delivery and the system asked what time we wanted it delivered (i put 6pm) i had to work til 6- Not only did it arrive at 5:30, it was COLD! i went to heat our Fish n Chips up and the portions have been cut in HALF! Either the Grub Hub guy ate our FF or they only put in half!! Each order had less than a SM order of McDonalds FF!'s! The Coleslaw was literally 2bites & gone!! The Fish was OK, & it was better to be early than late!! so I gave 3 stars! I will be calling them later today to complain (which we never usually do) So Disappointed! read more

Wow! This food was good, I'm sure - when it was fresh (maybe a few days ago)! The service was fine, but the food was just awful. I had the ribs, which were served Luke warm ad tough as wood. The fries that came with the meal were crunchy and dry - not in a fresh crisp way, but in a dried from sitting under heat for far too long kind of way. My friend's sirloin sizzler skillet meal was atrocious, as well. Very dry, tiny, and just generally bad. Ketchup made it edible, but that's pathetic. Also...this is a pet peeve of mine at many restaurants, but I hate it when the staff overfills the salt and pepper shakers to the point where none can even come out when you use them. After several attempts, I unscrew the top and the pepper heap inside falls all over the place. Honestly, I don't even know how they manage to fill them to that extreme, but it really is annoying. The chocolate moose dessert shooter was horrible, too. Soggy chunks of crumbled Oreo cookies in what probably was chocolate moose days before topped with what had to be canned redi-whip. Yep...just as bad as it sounds! Service was fine, but the food was so bad that I felt sorry for the server. read more
