I came here on the night of May 9, 2021. For starters, we got drinks, which was 2 shots of 1800 silver, the perfect Margarita cocktail, and then captain Bahamas mama cocktail. Both were good. When the waiter came back to bring plate and silverware, I ordered food and it was at 12:07pm. I Ordered boneless wings app with honey pepper as flavor. I personally never had these before. Menu said it was a new flavor and the waiter said it was similar to sweet Asian Chile. The wings were delicious. I also ordered the brew pup pretzels and beer cheese dip app. I wasn't fond of the dip and the pretzels were okay but definitely not one of the best. Felipe was our waiter. He was attentive. My bf ordered the French onion soup. The cheese wasn't melted and it looked nothing like the picture. He didn't like it and sent it back. We were not charged for it. We got 2 shots of 1800 before leaving. Overall, not a bad experience. It is Applebee's, after all. Even though the state doesn't have a mask mandate, the restaurant requires it and staff were wearing mask. read more

Applebee's has never been my go-to restaurant. I've always found their food to be mediocre. I went in because I had a gift card lol. My visit went great. They seemed pretty busy. My BIL took us here after a performance. I'm not going to lie, I was excited, haven't been to Applebees in easily 20 years. First indication we should have left, as soon as my BIL sat down a ROACH crawled up on his sleeve. My SIL swiped it off and didn't tell us until after the meal, she was scared we'd all leave and she was starving. True. My husband and I ordered the 2 for $35 or something deal, I got the ribs and he got the steak. We also ordered the appetizer plate which had things like spinach dip, boneless wings, mozzarella sticks, and quesadillas if I remember right. The mozzarella sticks tasted like they came out of the microwave, the spinach dip was delicious, but the boneless chicken was full of tendons and didn't feel cooked thoroughly very slimy. The ribs were okay, they didn't fall of the bone easily. Steak almost looked raw it was so undercooked, and again filled with tendons. I paid extra for Mac and cheese as my side and was disappointed, wasn't creamy or cheesy, felt like a waste of money and I didn't eat it. Whomp whomp, won't be back anytime soon. read more

Service has always been an issue with this restaurant. Poor customer service upon arrival, long wait times to take your order, even longer to get your meal and ticket after your meal. Servers disappear when you need them the most like for refills. This trip was the last straw. Ordered a meal thru Yelp for pick up. When I drove up to pick it up, the bartender brought out my order and mistaken me for a Grub Hub driver. He rudely began telling me to go inside next time to pick up the order. When I told him I was the customer he refused to give me my already paid order and told me to call Grub Hub. I called the CS number provided in the Yelp App receipt and the CSR had to call the restaurant to instruct them to release my meal. 30 minutes after arriving for my meal, I was finally brought my order by another server. UPDATE 3/29/2017 Today my family and I had an early dinner at this Applebee's. I gave them 2 stars last time for slow, inferior service and quality of food. This visit was much improved and I would rate it at 4 stars. So I'm giving them an average of 3 stars based on our experiences. This time we arrived at 4 PM, a slow time of day. There were few customers. We were welcomed and seated promptly. Our server, Javier, took our drink order and checked in on us twice while we browsed the menu. We asked if the music volume could be turned down as it was a bit loud for conversation and the restaurant graciously complied. Our server did an amazing job at getting all our orders accurately by memory alone (there were six of us). Our food was delivered swiftly and as ordered. All was delicious. We were asked more than once if we needed anything else. We needed catsup, extra pico de gallo and Heinz 57, all was brought quickly. Javier refreshed our drinks and even offered to-go drinks when we were getting ready to leave. The bathroom was in reasonable order. The atmosphere in the restaurant was pleasant. I can't say how the restaurant is at other times, such as when the bar is full or during karaoke night... but today's visit was promising. read more

With my group of friends, we would always come here after work at 11pm to have a bite and a few drinks only because on of my friends from the group knew one of the waiters. When I would order my drink I would see it at the bar sitting there and our waiter hadn't come by in a while and our drinks just started pilling up there at the bar until finally the waiter comes by to drop off our drinks. Most of the time the waiters don't come by too often and have typically forgotten to bring something which is a little of a disappointment. the Long Island drink they have there is disgusting - it was so watered down and just tastes like sour lemonade. I'm not joking I recommend to not order it. waste of money- you will still have to pay for it and they won't credit you anything. The only reason I actually enjoyed my time there was purely because of just hanging out with my friends. read more

Just don't do it. Terrible service, they don't enjoy catering to their customers. We had the worst waiter who felt the need to shame us for having a large party, and took forever to serve us on drink orders. Empty drinks, not good for business. That's why it's constantly empty. read more

I have given Applebee's one too many chances and they constantly let me down. The first time, my tortilla chips were stall. When I expressed it to the waiter, he came off as annoyed. The second time, I found a french fry at the bottom of my ranch dip. The third time, my salsa bowl indicated that it had not been washed as it still had ranch on the rim. Three strikes and they were out. This place is dirty and constantly disappoints. read more

My husband ordered online for pickup at around 6pm this evening. When he went inside to pick up they were not busy. Online when selecting the menu items he selected loaded beef fajitas well done and shrimp fajitas. After he returned to our home we discovered that for two orders of fajitas we had no tortillas. Then he took his beef fajita out of container and it was super pink as if just put on grill for a quick sizzle and he literally had to cook again at the house. Picture attached. Of course we could have returned and got tortillas and complained that meat wasn't done but the whole point of bringing home is that you don't wish to be out on a particular evening. I came here with my family around early noon and it was pretty okay at first, but suddenly our area began to smell of sewage. A bar was right behind us so it could have been that but the smell just began to grow worse as time progressed. One of the employees sprayed air freshener to try and mask the smell but it did not help whatsoever. We ended up moving tables, next to a window and as we sat down there was a bunch of flies, huge ones at that. Disgusting. I ordered a grilled chicken plate with a side of garlic mashed potatoes and four cheese macaroni. When I received my plate, there was this weird, white liquid on the bottom and the macaroni was literally just plain noodles and shredded cheese on top. I gave it a try anyways but chose not to eat it because it lacked so much flavor. Such a disappointment, especially because our food took nearly an hour to arrive at our table. When I got up to use the restroom, our waitress was by the door on her phone, and took forever to bring us a to go box for my aunt's wings and mozzarella sticks. We asked someone else to bring us a to go box but they took long as well. Overall, not a good place to eat. We went to eat around 1 and the place was dead. Now I see why. The ceilings were moldy, and the carpet was very dirty. I would not recommend this Applebee's to anyone. Definitely not worth your time or money. read more

I wish I could give this place 0 stars. I went out to this location with my girlfriend's for lunch. As soon as we walked in there was no host so we just found a table and waited for a waiter to come by the table. The hostess arrives to the front and walks right by our table and waits there until my friend goes up and asks her for some menus. She gives us menus and then gets us a waitress. We order drinks and our food. My friend orders an appetizer of chips and queso. 40 minutes go by and the waitress brings the food. They messed up one of the girls salads by drenching it in dressing when she wanted it on the side, the baby back ribs I ordered were dry and crispy. My friend that ordered the appetizer never recieved it and reminded the waitress. When the waitress came back she brought artichoke dip and chips and my friend told her she didn't order that and the waitress started an argument that the artichoke dip was what she ordered. The manager came out and fixed the problem and told us the appetizer was on them. The waitress never came by after that to refill drinks or check to see how we were doing. I don't understand why they provided such bad service the place was not even that busy. Well we should have took the hint when we had to seat ourselves. Oh well, sad to say I will not be returning or recommending this place. read more

One way or another, I get dragged (suckered) into going here by friends or family. There's nothing special about the food. Feels like everything is microwaved. I wonder if they even have a real kitchen with burners in the back. The extra star is not for the food but for the service. Good for lunch. I appreciate all of the light options. I had a chicken breast with avocado and pineapple on it, it was delicious. The rice wasn't good but I didn't mind because I didn't want the rice anyways. Next time I would see if I could get a different side. My friend said her salad and sandwich were both good. Very disappointed with my experience this evening at this Applebee's. Usually dine at the 10th street location but since we had just left the Cinemark bistro behind it we decided to give it a chance out of convenience. The moment we walk in the front door we notice the manager who does not greet us or anyone else that was waiting to be sat. Would like to mention the unwelcoming expression he had on his face which made me question if he even cared to even be there himself. I work at a restaurant myself and always made sure to have a smile and a friendly demeanor. That alone was upsetting for me but we still decided to have a seat and dine in anyways. The server was friendly, took our order and brought our drinks around 9:30. We then waited for our salads which seem to never come. Then he came by twice saying that our order was working and would be coming out soon. We had ordered their 3 course promotion they had going. We started thinking were they going to bring everything out at once? I noticed the manager walking around not really stopping to touch tables to check on guests and their experience. He walked by twice and never commented on the fact we had been sitting there for a half hour with only drinks. My boyfriend then asked the host if she could bring the manager around, again we continued to wait with no attempt for an immediate response from the manager to recover our visit. We ended up walking out seeing that it was doubtful that anyone would notice. My boyfriend turned around and went back in to speak to the manager in person. He came back out upset saying that he was rude, did not try to apologize and only had to comment on the time the order was sent in. That after that all he could say was that our order was already coming out. My boyfriend and I have both worked in a restaurant and know better on how guest orders should be timed and placed. We would've been more patient if it had been packed and noticed if the staff was overwhelmed but that clearly was not the case tonight. Awful!!!!!! It seemed to be in a nice location so we decided to stop by .... Worst decision ever !!!! First of if you smoke this is ok for you ... For everyone else stay away, this Applebee's allows smoking! We didn't realize smoking was allowed until once we were seated ( which was pretty quickly). And we figured the service would override the smoking. But we were wrong!!!! We waited for like ten minutes for refills, my penne was cold , yet my plate was hot.!? And our wing appetizer was a wee bit better than the Applebee's on 10th st in mcallen. Our server kept skipping us to tend to a bigger party which was a bit rude. Then once our bill came out he stuck around at the table waiting for us to pay right then and there so we paid, then he waited for us to leave ( I'm thinking to see his tip). Tsk tsk. I just went there for lunch with my coworkers and it was horrible. I ordered off the lunch menu (specifically pointing to the waiter BEN from the LUNCH menu what I wanted). When the food came out, I went about having my lunch. Then my ticket says it's charging me for a full portion meal. I told Ben, and he said it was his fault BUT I did eat the whole portion (which was dinner). We spoke to the manager and she said the same thing, you ate the whole portion. All I got was a $5 discount and a free lunch combo for next time; which I will not be going again (and I will not give away the punch card cause I do not recommend it at all). Really I was charged for the waiter's mistake and the responses were that I ATE it all anyway. That is so disrespectful, I've had bad service elsewhere but nothing to the point of disrespecting you as a person and blaming YOU for eating. read more
